Sanders attempts to soothe progressive angst over Biden [1]

He ticked through a list of Trump’s alleged faults and misdeeds, describing the former president as a “pathological liar, a “racist,” “sexist,” “xenophobe,” “homophobe” and a “religious bigot.”

“If you believe in democracy, and I know you all do, ... let me be very clear: The next several months will be the most important in modern American history,” Sanders said.

Progressives, including Sanders, have voiced discontent with the Biden’s administration’s response to the war in Gaza as the Palestinian death toll continues to climb. Pro-Palestinian groups in several states have waged campaigns to vote against Biden in Democratic primaries across the country.

Sanders, who also remains insistent that Hamas must be destroyed, has called on Biden to enforce the Foreign Assistance Act, which says that the U.S. will not send aid to any country that blocks or restricts the flow of U.S. humanitarian assistance.
