Rep. Omar’s Statement on GOP Bills This Week [1]

WASHINGTON– Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) released the following statement in response to House Republicans' floor agenda this week.

“This week, I voted against a series of GOP bills that were purported to ‘respond’ to the Iranian attacks on Israel last weekend. In fact, these bills were thinly veiled attempts to escalate an already very dangerous situation. What is needed most of all is a sober approach to de-escalation and conflict prevention. Instead, one of these harmful resolutions offered unconditional support for Israel’s right to attack Iran, which they did mere hours after the resolution passed. Congress should be focused on efforts to de-escalate tensions–-not inflame them.”
