Those plastic baggies with hateful anti-Semitic messages are back - this time in Wellington [1]

Date: 2023-09-04

The plastic baggies with hateful, anti-Semitic messages have found their way into Wellington.

The target were the developments of Emerald Forest and Pinewood Manor. Residents in those two communities awoke Monday morning to find plastic baggies left in their driveways that were full of anti-Semitic and extremist messages, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office.

Sheriff deputies retrieved the baggies from the driveways. According to a spokeswoman, "no direct threats were made at this time."

This year, police in Palm Beach and Atlantic issued “littering” citations to a group of men distributing anti-Semitic flyers to private residences. As of Monday afternoon, no arrests or littering citations were issued for the latest incident but the investigation is ongoing.

Rep. Lois Frankel, D-West Palm Beach, said she was disgusted by the latest incident.

“We must speak out against bigotry whenever we see it. Hate has no place here,” she said in a news release issued Monday.

Okeechobee sheriff deputies also reported that homes there were also targeted.
