MFD contains fire that prompted evacuation in Kaanapali [1]

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Maui County said a fire in West Maui that prompted another evacuation for some residents is now 100% contained.

Just shortly before 6:40 p.m. the Maui Police Department made the announcement of the evacuation and fire in Kaanapali. By around 9 p.m., they said no further evacuations are being conducted.

During the time of the fire, residents were being evacuated to ensure the safety of the community and first responders.

According to MPD, there are no restrictions to exit the west side but entrance back into the area will be allowed once it is safe to do so.
