Biden Slams Medicare for All: “It’s Totally Unrealistic and Can’t be Done” [1]

Joe Biden slammed Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders during an interview with KWWL for their ‘Medicare for All’ proposals, stating that it will raise taxes on the middle class and is “totally unrealistic.”
Here’s the key exchange:
Biden: “Bernie Sanders, who up to this time has been honest about the need to raise taxes including the middle class is now saying ‘well, I don’t have to have a plan, I don’t have to tell you how much it will cost now, there’s time.’ And Elizabeth Warren is saying she’s going to come up with a plan. It is totally unrealistic and can’t be done. My plan can occur the day after I’m elected, we can get it done, you don’t have to wait 5-10 years to get it done. I’m not criticizing them personally, but look there’s a little truth in advertising here. Bernie and Elizabeth: How much is your plan going to cost?”
Previously, Biden has given credit to Sanders for being “honest” about his Medicare for All plan, admitting that taxes on the middle class would go up as a result.
However, Biden has criticized Warren for not being transparent about her Medicare for All plan, saying that “She’s going to raise people’s taxes.”
Time after time, Warren keeps dodging the middle class tax question when asked by voters or reporters, and has dodged the question at least 28 times.
In addition, the proposal would require $32 trillion in tax hikes, which neither candidate has fully explained where those would come from.
Biden’s healthcare proposal would, however, raise taxes on the middle class. According to the New York Times, Biden would pay for his plan in part by rolling back the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
Because of the TCJA, a single parent with one child making $41,000 got a $1,300 tax cut – a 73% reduction in federal income taxes – each year.
