In 1983 daredevils in banana hammocks set an unbreakable world record [1]

Many have tried, and they have all failed, mostly suffering horrible injuries as they try to break the world record for the highest dive.

Holy cow. This is incredibly dangerous, and I think people should just let the record stand. The rules of the 1982 challenge make it nearly impossible for anyone to break the record, but very easy to break their back, leg, or head. This short video covering the record, however, is a lot of fun.
