What it was like to be an airline passenger in the 1930s [1]

[]

Date: 2023-07-25

Take a peek into a passenger airline flight in the 1930s. The first thing that stood out to me in these photos, as I'm sure it did for you too, is the casual wicker chairs being used as airplane seats. I wonder if they were bolted to the ground, or if they rattled around the plane during turbulence.

The idea of riding on an old small plane sounds pretty scary. Still, the laid-back vibe of this flight seems far more pleasant than the rigamarole that comes with traveling by plane in 2023.
