The chips for diarrhea trade-off: remember Olestra?

I absolutely remember when Olestra was being marketed as the way to enjoy your favorite carbohydrate-rich snack foods without the fat, you just had to accept "Anal leakage" as a side effect. This fat replacement was undigestible and had to come back out the other end.

The Olestra/Olean chips seemed to be in the market for less than a year, but certainly, some manufacturers will try to bring them back.
