As the Millennium Tower approaches maximum lean, San Francisco asks for a new expert

2021-10-07 00:00:00

Evidently, engineer Ronald Hamburger has reported the maximum lean of the building before it becomes unsafe in an earthquake is 29". The building is already 78% of the way there, at 22.75" of lean, and Mr. Hamburger proposed some testing that may increase it further.

The City of San Francisco is insisting a new independent engineer take a look before anything else is done.
