Daniel Radcliffe on ending up relatively OK, unlike many child stars

Conan O'Brien recently interviewed Daniel "Harry Potter" Radcliffe, who has turned out OK despite being the ultimate mass-culture child star. The "secret" is, frankly, that he never actually went to Hollywood and so was never subjected to its revolting pseudo-liberal predator-infested culture. Everything was filmed in England.

I don't really have a satisfying ansswer. I have very good normal parents who were supportive but also asked me "are you still enjoying this? do you still want to do this?" between every film. … They were very conscious, and I was very conscious of child actors and the cliche of child-actor parents. My dad was a literarary agent and my mother a casting director so they knew.
