Cowboy Kent Rollins tells us how to fix sticky cast iron

2021-09-08 00:00:00

I love cooking on cast iron.

While Cowboy Kent Rollins isn't sharing rocket science here, his lesson on simply cleaning up and re-seasoning your pans is easy to follow.

The trick of warming the pan to 'open the pores' as I have been taught is a good one. The super-thin layer of oil is even better. When I re-season a pan after stripping an old seasoning, I will wipe the oil on and then wipe it off before placing the pan in the oven. I will also do 3-5x coats on something that has been stripped, which may be excessive.
