How MTV created and killed Winger

While the video credits Beavis and Butthead, the story they tell is really one of MTV falling in and out of love with hair rock.

The Seventeen video playing on MTV made the band Winger seem like an overnight success. Calling the band out as lame on a very popular cartoon, while dropping the band from rotation had the opposite result.
