This 1973 Super Beetle has been upgraded with a Subaru engine in the back, but kept looking as stock as possible to achieve what owner John Reynolds calls "a Super Sleeper."

People's faces range from terror to sheer delight! Who wouldn't want to sit in a massively overpowered crumple zone?

The car is a fantastic work of love.
