Description             : The Nadir is a short (~2 hours) Hexen adventure that
                         aims to extend the experience once the vanilla game and
                         expansion end. I found myself wanting to play more Hexen
                         after completing these, so the result wasThe Nadir. This
                         is a project I created as a personal goal and for my
                         own enjoyment, but decided later in the creation process
                         that I would share it with others who enjoy this game and
                         user-created material.

Known Bugs              : Projectiles can pass through upper part of some enemy bodies,
                         but I think that's a Hexen issue
May Not Run With        : Anything other than GZdoom (Zdoom is possible, but 3D floors will
                         not appear and screw up some areas... though mostly cosmetically

* The Story *


There is no particular story, but the mod was built with surrounding events
and purpose in mind. Without getting too fancy, basically there is a
sorcerer known as the Reanimator who is using the victims of the Portal
Worlds to create a legion. His aides accomplish this in the Nadir, a
subterranean complex beneath the Reanimator's keep nestled in the mountains.

You, the hero, find an abandoned passage in the mountain, which leads
to the entrance to this keep. You must find your way in, destroy the
Reanimator's minions, and eventually the Reanimator himself.


* The Weapons *


Platinum Staff:

This staff will look familiar if you've played Heretic. This staff delivers
a concussive blow to the target and those around the target, knocking them
back and ruining a weaker enemy's day. Useful for tight quarters, especially
early on for the mage and cleric.

The fighter and cleric sprites were created by myself, and the mage sprites
are borrowed resources (that I edited to add a 'powered' state).

Uses rare Violet Mana


Ethereal Crossbow:

Another familiar weapon - the crossbow will fire a single high-velocity and
high-powered bolt, useful for long ranges or when you meet an enemy you are
having difficulty dealing with.
