Description : The second in a series of exercises that dares participants to break away from the trends and ideas typical in day-to-day Dooming. The challenge? Create a map that best depicts a theme generated by jmickle66666666's level theme generator. Themes were created, numbered and then hidden from participants, who were made to select a number at random in order to be assigned a theme. The event ran for just under two weeks, totalling 11 maps. These maps are designed to be played from pistol start.

Name : The Emerald Farmhouse
Author(s) : gaspe
Theme : The Emerald Farmhouse

MAP02
--------{---(@
Name : Keep of the Valley of the Shadow of Death
Author(s) : Impie
Theme : The Eerie Wasteland in A Keep
Music : "Unyes" by Jimmy
Textures : None
Comments : small brick keep with a wormhole sitting in its belly, leading to a
barren alien landscape.
MAP03
--------{---(@
Name : The Mass for the Fallen
Author(s) : DoomLover234
Theme : A Christo-Judean Arcology giving way to A Sheepish Little Slice of
Hell
Music : "Triangle of Fear" by Mark Klem
Textures : none
Comments : How I went by the title; literally. Made a building that's pretty
high, made it in Christo-Judean style, of course, I've added hellspawn
and many teleporter traps to symbolize devils overtaking this
sacred piece of land. I think it's balanced enough. Also, fun fact;
I've never completed this ma without resurrecting or giving medikits
to myself. Always died at least once.
MAP04

Name : A Cyst in Coldness
Author(s) : NoisyVelvet
Theme : A Cyst in Coldness
Music : "Shawn's Got The Shotgun" by Robert Prince
Textures : CC4
Comments : Only a little ways into making it, i was like "oops, i bit off a
bit more than i can chew". If i had more motivation and time, I
would have made the map santa-themed, and disguised Romero's head as
Santa, and make a goofy story about "Santa's untreated butt-rash that
went rampant after Christmas eve".
MAP05
--------{---(@
Name : Infectious Deceptious
Author(s) : Doomkid
Theme : The Infected Colonnade below The Cliffs
Music : "Sunglasses At Night" by Corey Hart, edits by Doomkid
Textures : ???
Comments : I really like the theme I was given, I love constructing outdoor areas
in Doom and this let me do so excessively. For some reason, my theme
made me imagine some badass 80s hero with a leather jacket and
sunglasses scaling cliffs, and I knew right then Sunglasses at Night
was the only MIDI I could use, so I got working on fixing that up. I
really enjoyed making this!
MAP06
--------{---(@
Name : Streetlight Manifesto
Author(s) : joe-ilya
Theme : Several Blue Amphitheaters hammered into London
Music : "Private eye -by- Alkaline Trio" from midimelody
Textures : none
Comments : It's an easy to understand title, round blue areas with curvy stairs
scattered around as sandbox buildings, since it's set in london I put
a big ben as the symbol of the famous city. I made the amphitheaters
look hammered by placing them in random illogical locations.

Name : All Aboard The Soupship: Quest for the Golden Ladle
Author(s) : Surreily
Theme : Some Soups morphing into The Cloudship
Music : "Cloud Soup" by Jimmy
Textures : 32in24-15
Comments : I was delighted that I would get to make some awesome soup textures
(okay, they're not that awesome) and decided to make a kind of sky
ship thing that would then lead onto an island where something would
happen. Later, I decided to use one of my custom sprites as a 'golden
ladle' and set it as the objective of the map. The map features some
3D floor illusions (you will fall into the ship's main area, then
again onto the island). The ship uses a very red/blue/silver/black
theme, so I used my other custom sprite as a red lamp to help it fit
in.
Near the beginning, you'll find the big red screen, which displays
some information about the soup contained on the ship. When you open
the blue door inside the ship, you'll enter the soup storage area and
see the soup containers hanging onto the back of the ship, suspended
by steel beams. This is also where you'll jump off the ship and land
on the island to finally claim the legendary Golden Ladle. There is
also a teleporter in each area leading back to the deck of the ship.

Name : Kevin Spacey's Lunartech Dojo Puppet Show
Author(s) : Jimmy
Theme : The Spacey Dojo Collapsed into Punch and Judy
Music : "Protodojo" by Jimbo Paddo (that's me-o)
Textures : Deus Vult II, Valiant, TVR, graphics by Cage
Comments : none
MAP09
--------{---(@
Name : A Hellish Train
Author(s) : Rayzik
Theme : A Hellish Train
Music : "BGM 5" from Beavis and Butthead
Textures : none
Comments : none
MAP10
--------{---(@
Name : Cretaceous Cogs
Author(s) : Pinchy
Theme : The Steampunk Secret on the Prehistoric Ocean Floor
Music : "el dorado never shined as bright as a well oiled ass" by
jmickle66666666
Textures : Aquatex V6, pystex, 2mbrown
Comments : The original idea was to build a ruined underwater base that leads
down to a sea floor situated prehistoric museum with a secret to
reveal. I mixed in new tech parts so that it gives the impression that
the museum was built into the ruined base itself.
General texture use was going to include steampunk brick, brass,
bronze and rust as the introduction joined to lower parts by high tech
installations which became the shipyard and water control systems.
Items I wanted to include were gears/cogs, water systems with pipework
and moving water, prehistoric fossils and sea floor views to big pipes
with flashing lights, catwalks and an underwater volcano. The
technical aspects such as the main lift with light and the crane that
opens the drain and raises the water level in the upper pipe area were
unique ideas I enjoyed building and the most complex I have ever
built, especially the lift reset.
I generally enjoy working with water and machines so I had a cascade
of ideas for cool underwater systems for this one, some which failed.
Overall this was a damn fine Jmickling featuring his Aquatex and
music.

Name : Rise of the Floating Triad
Author(s) : AnonimVio
Theme : The Floating Triad
Music : "CCCool" by Lee Jackson
Textures : rottex.wad, gothictx.wad
Comments : I'm a simple person - I see word "triad", I think of RoTT. I solved
the "floating" problem by putting F_SKY1 on the floor. Yeah, I'm not
creative person.
