Title                   : Gehenna
Filename                : gehenna.wad
Release date            : 2021
Author                  : Matthias
Email Address           : [redacted]
Update to               : gehenna.zip
Version                 : 1.2
Description             : Gehenna is a single episode for the first Doom (The
                         Ultimate Doom (1995)) containing 9 new maps (8 + 1
                         secret). I tried to make the maps in the classical
                         vanilla Romero/Petersen style (but I slipped to my
                         own style many times anyway). Also I didn't add any
                         new graphics (except TITLEPIC and couple of others)
                         and I used only stock textures and stock music. The
                         point of this megawad is to pay respect to the very
                         first Doom and demonstrate it's still a fun game
                         even without new assets and advanced Gzdoom
                         effects. Maybe a little bit inspired by the "No End
                         In Sight" and "Doom the Way id Did" megawads.

* Recommended ports *
===========================================================================
Gehenna is Vanilla Doom, Limit-removing

++ Chocolate-Doom ++

Maps E1M2, E1M4 simply don't work at all. They don't even launch. For M4 it's caused by exceeding the limit of scrolling walls (64).
E1M6 crashes after the first few steps due to visplane limits, and other maps contain many texture bleeding bugs.
Despite my megawad being in vanilla format, I don't recommend using this port! ;)

++ Crispy-Doom ++

Works like a charm. No issue

++ prBoom+ ++

Works like a charm. No issue

++ Gzdoom ++

Works like a charm. No issue

++ Eternity ++

Works like a charm. No issue

++ Doomsday aka jDoom ++

Some of the floor textures are missing completely (the engine doesn't render them for some reason),
some light effects are not visible and bigger spaces make the framerate drop (so basically, most of the M06 is slow).
Despite that, it's playable and possible to beat.

++ Vavoom ++

Mostly works fine, but some places are probably too difficult to render, so the framerate drops here.
M6 is rather slow for most of the time. Couple of textures have an incorrect offset
and enemies often get stuck in decorations.

++ Brutal Doom ++

No issues, except some of the framerate issues from time to time.
