1 - What is DeathManager Auxiliar ?

   DeathManager Auxiliar (DMAUX.EXE) is a auxiliar program to DeathManager
(DM.EXE). DeathManager is an easy-to-use interface that replaces the hassle
of typing command-line parameters to SERSETUP.EXE and IPXSETUP.EXE.
DeathManager comes with the Shareware and Registered versions of the DOOM,
DOOM2, Heretic and Hexen.
   Unfortunately has a problem in the DeathManager, you can't pass a irq
modem number to SERSETUP.EXE, if you have a non-usual configuration in your
FAX/MODEM card, you can't use the DeathManager because SERSETUP.EXE will get
a default irq number to the COM port of the your FAX/MODEM card that won't
be the same that you have configurated to it. THIS MY CASE :(
   DeathManager Auxiliar correct this problem, when you use the DeathManager
and type F10 to start the comunication, it will bypass the sersetup entrie
and call DMAUX.EXE that will start SERSETUP.EXE.
   The DeathManager Auxiliar will pass the correct irq modem number to the
SERSETUP.EXE and ALL options that DM.EXE write in the file DM$$$.TMP and you
will stay happy to can use the DeathManager program.
   Note: In old versions of the DeathManager program (i.e. v1.0) the file
DM$$$.TMP isn't created but command line options are passed to SERSETUP.EXE.
DeathManager Auxiliar will send the '-irq <number>' option to sersetup and
ALL others options passed by DM.EXE too.


2 - How I use the DeathManager Auxiliar ?

   It's easy to use the DeathManager auxiliar and you can use two means to
do it:

 1. First you must copy the DMAUX.EXE program to your DOOM, Heretic or
Hexen directory and you must edit the file DM.CFG. In the entrie line
'ser_exe = sersetup.exe' you will replace it to 'ser_exe = dmaux.bat'.
    Second, you must type the command 'dmaux.exe <your_irq_modem_number> /g'
to generate the batch file DMAUX.BAT with your correct irq modem number.
    Note: You can use this way ONLY if you are using the versions 1.2 or
up of the DeathManager. In some circunstances, this way work with DeathManager
1.0 and (I think) 1.1, but in others circunstances, this way fail and the
DeathManager return a error message: "Problems EXECVing dmaux.bat"

 2. First you must copy the DMAUX.EXE program to your DOOM, Heretic or
Hexen directory and you must edit the file DM.CFG. In the entrie line
'ser_exe = sersetup.exe' you will replace it to 'ser_exe = dmaux.exe'.
    Second, you must type the command 'dmaux.exe <your_irq_modem_number> /c'
to generate the config file DMAUX.CFG with your correct irq modem number.
    Note: You can use this way to ALL versions of the DeathManager, but
you MUST use it if you are using DeathManager versions early than 1.2.

    Now, configure your MODEM.CFG if you didn't have configured it yet, type
DM.EXE in the prompt command and be happy!


3 - I can use it with all versions of the DeathManager ?

   I think that yes, I don't have all versions of the DeathManager, I have
only the versions that came with the Sharewares versions of the DOOM, Heretic,
the demo of the Hexen and the patches of them. I tested with the versions 1.0,
1.2, 1.4 and 1.5 of the DeathManager.
