     WHAT IS CHGDSG 1.1?
     ===================

CHanGeDSG  allows you to modify your DOOM  executive  file
(normally DOOM.EXE or DOOM2.EXE) so that it will be using other
     DSG files than DOOMSAV?.DSG.
This is very useful if you have several different PWADs or
EXE  patches  and you saved your games in PWAD maps.  Normally,
DOOM  will  crash  when loading a wrong savegame  (requiring  a
     PWAD).
CHGDSG  1.1  will  solve  your problems:  Just  copy  your
DOOM.EXE  /  DOOM2.EXE and modify the copy with  CHGDSG!  Every
copy  will now use its own DSG files while DOOM.EXE / DOOM2.EXE
still   loads  the  standard  DOOMSAV?.DSG  files.    No   more
confusion, no more crashing ... :-)

     HOW TO USE CHGDSG 1.1?
     ======================

First,  unzip the CHGDSG 1.1 zip file (CHGDSG11.ZIP)  into
your  DOOM  directory. If you don't do this it might not  work!
Using  CHGDSG 1.1 is pretty simple. You can either use  command
line parameters or start CHGDSG without any parameters.

     Without command line parameters:

1.) Start CHGDSG 1.1 by typing:
          CHGDSG <ENTER>
2.) Enter  the name of your DOOM.EXE / DOOM2.EXE  copy.  CHGDSG
will automatically detect the game's version.
3.) Enter the new name for its savegames.

You may also use these command line parameters:

-f FILE    Guess. The file  name of your DOOM.EXE  /  DOOM2.EXE
                copy.
-n NAME    Yes, right, the new DSG name.

You may start CHGDSG  with both  parameters  "-f FILE" and
"- n NAME" or just one of them. CHGDSG will detect the provided
parameter(s) and will ask you to enter the other one.

     Examples:            CHGDSG -f NEWDOOM.EXE -n newsavs
                          CHGDSG -f NEWDOOM.EXE
                          CHGDSG -n newsavs

     WHAT'S NEW?
     ===========

     Version 1.1

     - Added support for DOOM II v1.9 and Final DOOM (TNT & Plutonia)

     Version 1.0

     -  Rewrote the source code and improved the functions.  (Helped
me to do that command line parameter stuff in this version!)
     -  CHGDSG 1.0 now supports the registered versions of DOOM 1.2,
        1.666, 1.9 and Ultimate DOOM!
     -  Automatically detects the game's version.
     -  Reminds you of using a copy of DOOM.EXE / DOOM2.EXE  if  you
input  "DOOM.EXE" or "DOOM2.EXE" by mistake. (Whoever  needs
        to be reminded!) :)
     -  Supports command line parameters.
     -  Some internal buggy stuff fixed.
     -  EMM386 HIGHSCAN bug fixed.
     -  DSG name input bug fixed. (When first having typed in a wrong
DSG  name  and  then a correct one, CHGDSG 0.5  still  wouldn't
        accept it.)
     -  BIGGEST bug possible fixed: CHGDSG 0.9 didn't work with DOOM
        1.666 registered! I'm terribly sorry!

     Version 0.9

     -  Support for DOOM 1.666 registered.

     Version 0.5

     -  First version, supporting DOOM 1.9 registered only.
