19981130 0550 CHAL: D1V6 EP00 32 33 27 (00)
19981130 0550 : Evgeny Potashnik
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
System used : AMD K-6 200 Mhz, 32MB RAM
Controls used : Keyboard only, standard keys
Free interpretation : E2M9, UV with -fast, 100% kills, items and
secrets, under par
Comments : Overall, it's pretty easy to beat the par times
on these levels.
E2M7: Kills - 43%, Items - 18%, Secrets - 0%,
Time - 2:33 (par 4:00).
I think it's kind of funny that, in a demo which
is supposed to be a speed-run, I go into a room
especially to pick up a 1% health potion, but the
par time more than allows for it. Sorry, I did it
out of habit.
E3M2: Kills - 2%, Items - 0%, Secrets - 0%,
Time - 0:24 (par 0:45).
Nice and easy as long as you don't go around
picking up weapons and shooting things.
E3M3: Kills - 12%, Items - 0%, Secrets - 0%,
Time - 1:01 (par 1:30).
This one really depends on luck a great deal:
sometimes the monsters block your way and
sometimes they don't. In this case they did,
and I was barely able to get through.
Free (E2M9):
Kills - 100%, Items - 100%, Secrets - 100%,
Time - 2:11 (par 2:50)
Again, I pick up all the items, but the par
time allows for it. There is not authentication
dance in this demo, since the level is "Instant
Carnage" and there is an "under par" constraint.
With normal monsters it could have been done, but
with -fast the barons kill you very quickly while
you're spinning around on one spot.
Author info : 17 years old, just finished high school.
I still use the keyboard, because I like it
and I don't like the mouse, even though I
admit it does let you move and turn faster.
