Comments:
E2M9 (Easy): This level was easy. It was very easy.
How easy was it? I completed the level without taking
*any* damage.
Authentication Dance was completed near the chainsaw.
This level was Dead Simple.
E3M2 (Med.): Nothing special about this level.
The Authentication Dance was done in the index finger.
E4M8 (Hard): This challenging level has a lot of hidden areas. I was
quickly forced to know almost every hidden area on the
map. Missing even one of those places could be
disasterous to the success of the level.
The central chamber is rather easy. After picking up the
chaingun, I stayed in the corridor, and fired into the
chamber. Since the monsters in the chamber are deaf, I
stood off to one side, and began mowing down half the
monsters. Then, I switched sided to mow down the rest.
The only other tip I can think of is to leave the
invisibility until you begin the fight with the
spiderdemon. This will make the run behind the
spiderdemon much easier, since the spiderdemon will return
fire when it is attacked by its minions, while you rush in
to grab the BFG.
This is the only level in the challenge that does not
report the number of kills, because of a built-in
restriction of the doom engine.
The Authentication Dance was completed after slaying the
two imps. Note that this is the only level that I
recorded with the sound disabled during recording.
E4M1 (Free): This is a very appropriate level for a Free
Interpretation. With a limited amount of ammo and health,
you must dodge almost all incoming attacks, and make every
shot count.
The hardest part of the level is not slaying the four
barons of hell near the end of the demo. The hard part is
inside the building in the second area. At that point,
you are quite likely to have recieved several hits, and
has a rather low health, making the blue key area much
harder.
Although it was dangerous to do so, I managed to squeeze
the final four shells into my backpack before finishing
the level.
Performing the Authentication dance before killing the
sargents is rather dangerous. The dance was completed at
the enterence just after killing off those soldiers.
