too exactly on this) it should be a (very) hard D2I
                    map)

Comments           :

the file names are a bit confusing, i know. they mean:
1nm01-15 1st lmp on nm from map to map:

             Free Interpretation
Map22: I took this for free..., well, it was a suggestion from
Steffen, after I showed him Map26 from scratch. I remembered
that i once had tried it with no idea how to do it. then
Steffen played the end of the map with plasma gun and
70% health and no armour in his latest nm-run. i remember
that i thought: it cant be true what i see, why the hell is
the end so hard when *i* play it ??? It took my some tries to
find out, why steffen made it.
then the light - the respawning is different !
and in my case , not having the bfg, i realized :
after last entering the main area i must survive the
chaingunners with at least 50-70% health, and then just play
the rest like Steffen :-). Because this route is faster than
the one from my second .lmp, the chainies from the start area
dont permanently respawn and enter the main area.

After all these words, just one more thing: Watch it!  ;-)

The Story:    Yeah, this title has got a long long story:
I started thinking about the d2s, after steffen ended d1s,
which i also requested. This was last year, at the end
of november or the start of december i went to america
for three weeks. thomas printed out the maps and i
studied them. i searched for the safest routes.

when i came back i had problems with the fact, that daniel
completely took over the compet-n.  so i started to
play for compet-n again, and did nothing for the d2s.

later i decided to study all the maps by playing them
with saving, not knowing whether some special maps are
possible or not. this took a very very long time, and
maybe this was wrong, i dont know. i only noticed that
i almost forgot everything for the 2nd lmp, when i ended
the first & same with the third. when i finished the second
i was very happy and sure that it wouldnt take too long
to end it all, but ... steffen did it again, he recorded
the whole game in one big .lmp. and i was frustrated, down,
             even thought about stopping.

two email friends gave me new heart. and while i tried
recording the third i also thought about a free and recorded
many out of base maps from scratch. and then one day or better
night it happened. 7 months work. phooooo. the final free was
             just another day session.

this is the very last doom2 title i make,
since i dont like tyson play.

The .Lmps:

nm01-15.lmp:  From Map 01 to Map15 secret exit.
This .Lmp was a big psychological barrier. It was the 1st
i recorded, and i put myself more and more under pressure
to make it at last. But time went by and there always went
sth wrong. The main problem was the end scene from Map12,
and I played that very good untill, yes I grabbed my BFG
and made some terrible mistakes, lucky i exited. Another
luck having bad luck happend at the end of map05, i hit
one or two spectres (:-(, a sergeant respawned behind me,
the cacos also went to my nerves, but i kept them, also
at the start of 06. After 14 and 15 i had my trousers very wet,
14 all through with only plasma, what is surely not the
best in some scenes. yes and 15, whooo, it will be exciting
for you. for me it was nightmare!

nm31-23.lmp:  From Map 31 to 23
The earlier hard map 17 was no more any problem, Daniel's
start trick - jump is just too good, no cacos in your back
makes it all a lot easier. Now it can be played even from
scratch, the only problems left were: a good end in 21 for
             22 and 23.

Steffen played 23 very fast and IMHO risky. I also had this
idea but it was just too risky for me, since this was the last
map of the second .lmp and i dont make 22 every day. So how can
iI kill the pain el.s i asked myself ? bfg ? very slow, and
loses much power with distance, it sometimes worked but very
seldom. with plasma its safer, but you need many many cells,
which i tried to safe the maps before.

The main problem 22 doesnt look too hard in this map. Same
with the free. But it *is* the hardest nm map, maybe 29 is
harder. And i planned and tried and planned and tried, made
statistics like 'how often from 20 do i die in this variant'
there really can happen a lot, best is if spectre bites
from above, when you enter one of the lifts, and and and.

nm24-30.lmp:  From Map 24 to 30
25 is not my favourite nm map. i often had problems with
it. at 26 i had a caco in my back right after the soulsphere,
what didnt increase my chances to end the level, in 27 i didnt
find the red key, 28 a small changing of the normal route,
made archie cross my way, me with plasma gun in my hands, i
realized the 'never change your route, and do not even collect
a single rocket, if you normally dont do it' - fact, and in the
meantime archie did his work. 29 went very good for me, al-
though the first knight respawned a bit too early. Anyway I
took the Soulsphere as late as possible and therefore allowed
myself some mistakes later ;-). at 30 my hands were wet and
i felt terrible. i was sure that I would miss the first shot,
but didnt dare to correct my position on the lift. after this
i took the megasphere having ca. 190/190 h&a, then suddenly
cooled down, knowing that i would have at least two chances
more, and shooting while going up i knew i wouldnt miss.

And yes the credits: (they go to)

Simon Widlake - he was a big motivator in the beginning of
the exam. and you (the watchers) should thank him very much,
because he unpaused the first .lmp - the original one had
three pauses (each about one minute) in it and was not too
much fun to watch. thank you simon, for your great knowledge.

Thomas 'Zlatko' 'ThE GoDFatheR' Zajic - for big help in the
first phase of the exam. you were such a great help when
analyzing all the maps. possible or not, that was always
the question ? we two were the first to solve the unsolved.
Also thanx for critics, watching, motivating & so on.

Of course you Peo Sjoblom, the funniest guy around. Peo was
one of the two guys, that really helped me a lot after
Steffen made his all level run on Nightmare!, when i was
very very down. Peo is also the author of the included jpg.
it's so funny. Thank you once again, Peo. ;-)
(i dont think this doesnt break any existing rule ?, i
have more than 5 titles :-)

Well, well - George Bell. i thank you very much. It's also
your fault that this happened. i really wanted to stop that
time, but you gave me new motivation.

Michael, for just being what he is. (my brother)

Last, but not least - the Master himself - Steffen Winter-
feldt... Thank you Steffen, for your lmps, tips and every-
               thing else.

Also credits to all the guys that permanently record, record
               and record.

ok, id - for the game. it's (the) great(est).

Author info        : 26 year old software engineer who started playing DooM
in January '95. Everything went on just normally, until
I saw Steffen Winterfeldt's Famous DooM II Nightmare Run
This was the point where I had to decide whether to stop
or to *really* start playing DooM.
