Free interpretation : E3M4-UV with Tyson rules (adding to the base: Hard Set)
I did this level for my D1M exam and didn't want it to
go to waste. So here it is again as a Free. The
punching is good (for me) up to about half way thru
the level (up to the point where I let the Baron out
of the Soul Sphere room) but fells apart badly near
the end. Any Map that takes more than 20 minutes to
watch is too long anyway.
The stats are:
Kills 100%
Items 100%
Secrets 100%
TIME 29:54 PAR 2:30
Comments : My D1M exam had lots of punching so getting D1T and
D2T titles seemed like a good idea. This one would be
a piece of cake anyway. It turned out not to be!
E1M5 tripped me up so it was off to Doomgate for a
consult, which did not yield any E1M5 Tyson LMPs.
However, after working on D2T, E1M5 looked a LOT
easier. E3M4 was going to be the Expansion Level but
I did not have a good idea for the Free. Then I
struck on the idea of adding E1M9 as the Expansion
Level and adding E3M4 as a Free. I hope anyone
getting E1M9 feels the Medium Set is where it belongs.
It could be borderline but my judgment is tainted by
the disparity in difficulty between D1T and D2T.
Addition: E1M9 : (adding to the base: Medium Set)
Adding E1M9 to the base makes every Map in Episode 1
available for D1T, which seems like a good idea.
The Map did not take a lot of work but did require
some luck in the beginning. This LMP came from the
third attempt at the Map so there is HUGE room for
improvement. I must have ended the level with 150+
bullets, not knowing if it would work out as a limited
ammo level (ran out on the second attempt).
The stats are:
Kills 100%
Items 100%
Secrets 100%
TIME 26:36 PAR 2:45
E1M5 : Map 5 is super fun even in Tyson. This may be
the only LMP worth watching in this set. Hanging on
by a thread, a very thin one at that, best describes
this LMP. I got ULTRA conservative near the end so
as not to lose the earlier action.
The stats are:
Kills 100%
Items 100%
Secrets 88%
TIME 19:56 PAR 2:45
E1M4 : This LMP is not very polished and I could not recommend
watching it! But it does satisfy the requirements.
The stats are:
Kills 100%
Items 100%
Secrets 100%
TIME 18:36 PAR 1:30
E2M9 : What a really funny level. I missed this playing thru
Episode 2. Not much to miss but a really super level
for Tyson because it is so easily completed. Kind of
makes me feel good taking out all those big hitters,
but for me, taking out sergeants is more dangerous in
Tyson.
The stats are:
Kills 100%
Items 50%
Secrets 100%
TIME 4:39 PAR 2:50
Author info : This is the third title that I have worked on and I am
working on D2T now. I wanted to get this one out
before the gaps in the base are filled (while I work
on D2T). I apologize for the sloppy work in some of
these LMPs. I will have to take a break and work on
cleaning up my movement skills when I finish D2T so
I do not run into everything and make the screen whirl
and jerk like a broken VCR. Happy Dooming.
