Comments :
You might take note that all of these LMPs were recorded
on a computer here at work (Hughes Aircraft Company, but
don't tell anyone :-) ), so I didn't have a sound card
available. Hence, I could not tell if someone was sneaking
up on me, or attacking me from behind, until I got hit and
my screen turned red. This made it quite a bit harder, but
I still managed to conquer the title.
E1M6-UV:
Obviously, an easy level. I must have recorded LMP after
LMP of this one, but could never manage to get 100% kills.
So you'll notice that after I've killed everyone, I go
running around the level looking for some more monsters that
might have escaped my guns the first time. I don't find
any, so it's rather boring to watch. I apologize for
this... ;-)
E2M5-UV:
God, I love that plasma rifle. It's the perfect weapon
for killing Barons of Hell. And the Chainsaw is a pretty
nice weapon too for killing Cacodemons! ;-) (This was
a fun little short battle..)
E2M7-UV:
I don't know why this level is in the "Hardest" level
set. I found it far easier than E2M5. I rarely run out
of ammo, and end up using the Chainsaw a lot, especially
on the Demons. It's pretty fun to watch the Cacodemons
beat up on the Baron of Hell at one point, but the Baron
clearly has the advantage; he killed both Cacodemons, and
I still had to hit him with two rockets before he died.
One little minor problem with this LMP: I hit the "Pause"
key for about five seconds at one point.
E1M5-UV:
No, this isn't the hardest level I've ever seen. However,
it really is a bugger on "chainsaw-only" mode. There is a
LOT of sneaking around, hiding behind corners in this one.
It can't be avoided. It was a BITCH to finish, too. I must
have recorded 20 different versions of this before I
finally managed to finish it alive. Hope you enjoy it!
Author info : I am a Systems Programmer at Hughes Aircraft
Company, and since I only have a lowly 386SX/20
at home, I have to squeeze in a little bit of
DOOM playing here at work during my lunch hour.
I attended California State Polytechnic University,
Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona), and graduated in 12/94.
At the time of this writing (5/4/95) I'm 27 years
old, and married. I suppose that it's rather good
that my computer at home can't play DOOM; my
marriage would undoubtedly suffer for it. :-)
I have Linux installed on my 386SX/20 at home (it's
about the only thing good about that computer), as
well as my 486DX2/66 here at work. I'm fanatical
about Magic: The Gathering, and play it as often as
I can. I also enjoy reading a lot. Right now I
am on page 593 of _The_Shadow_Rising_, by Robert
Jordan (the book has 980 pages). I'm also reading
_Dragon_Prince_, by Melanie Rawn, and _Forrest_
_Gump_, by Winston Groom.
My home page sucks, so I won't give the URL for it.
I'd like to extend my SINCERE appreciation to
Frank Stajano, for creating the Doom Honorific
Titles program. I've been a DM (DOOM Master) since
the DHT3 came out, and now I can claim another
DOOM title to my name: D1M. I'd also like to thank
id Software for creating such a wonderful game.
It's truly one of the best games ever created.
My email address (should you feel like emailing me)
is "
[email protected]". The email address given in
the DHT4 log is valid right now, but it will no
longer be valid in about 3-4 months.
Have a wonderful day, enjoy my LMPs, and Keep On
DOOMing!! :-)
