Description             : This upgrade patch from DooM II v1.7a to
                         v1.8 has been uploaded because of historical
                         interest to /idgames. People with deep technical
                         interest, nostalgists and collectors will like
                         this.

Other files required    : If you have DooM II v. 1.9, you need the
                         following patches to get DooM2 v. 1.7a, that you
                         can then change into version 1.8 (I give the
                         filenames together with the pathnames within the
                         /idgames -ftp-archives, see list of mirrors
                         below.):

                         utils/exe_edit/dm2dwngr.zip
                           --> DooM II - downgrade from v. 1.9 to v. 1.666
                         idstuff/doom2/doom2p.zip
                           --> DOOM II upgrade to version 1.7a
                               (If you have used the above downgrade
                               patch, you have to run PATCHA.BAT.)
