--[ My Beelink U59 running OpenBSD kicked the bucket.
I am currently typing this phlog out on my "old" desktop running Alpine
Linux. It's done, hardware failure killed the U59. I don't know exactly
how it happened, but I think it overheated because of the recent weather
and somehow this killed the motherboard. I spent a long time trying to
figure out what happened to it, but I couldn't. I didn't want to take it
apart too much because I knew it was still covered by the warranty.
It was around January this year that I got the U59, and it was great.
I was able to run OpenBSD with it, which I couldn't do on my desktop
because the hardware wasn't supported. I used Alpine Linux for my daily
driver before OpenBSD, and luckily I had my alpine bootstrap scripts
floating about, so I could boot up to an installation with 15 mins. The
only issue I had was a lot of my dotfiles are needing fixed up for
moving back to Linux. Things like unsupported flags or OpenBSD centric
tools I was using. It's a real slog getting that sorted, I must admit.
Hopefully I can get a replacement sent and be back to OpenBSD soon! In
the meantime here is my new sad neofetch output:
