The so-called Committee to Investigate Claims of the Paranormal
is not as pristine as some might believe. Political infighting seems
to be one of their main interests, as some of the founding members
got fed up with the arrogant attitudes of one or two of their colleagues
and subsequently left the organization.
It just goes to show that staunch fanatics on either side of the fence,
pro psi or con, can delude themselves into seeing what they want to see.
I realize that this topic raises emotions and is difficult to discuss
rationally, but that's what makes it interesting to discuss (and in
my case, fun to experiment with).
I again urge those of you who are really interesting in learning something
to read Jahn's article in IEEE proceedings, Feb, 1982.
