Crackdown on jokes at Stanford
I don't know how much factual data was presented, but a couple of
mornings ago I heard a story on the radio that concerned adminstrative
purging of "data banks" that consisted of jokes at Stanford
University. An adminstrator at Stanford was quoted as saying "there
were jokes to offend about everyone" involved in the situation. There
were also mentions of "computer data banks" filled with recipes and
wine reviews (sound familiar?). Another quote went something to the
tune of "The jokes were being used to train computer nuts." (?)
Anybody else heard anything about this, I've only heard it mentioned on
the radio that once, and no further mention of it since.
