Complaints about astrology
Afraid I have to disagree - net.misc is exactly the place.
I think astrology is as stupid as you do, and I don't see any need to
discuss it on the net - especially in a private group. I have seen perhaps
two or three astrology messages in net.misc over the time period you mention,
and I don't think that's excessive - That's the whole reason not to have
a private newsgroup. If your boss looks over your shoulder and sees an
astrology article in net.misc, you can say "well, that's just a fleeting
discussion". If he sees a whole group dedicated to it (which is supposed to
mean regular discussion) that
is another story! The point is, if you are so worried about wasting your
time reading tripe (I think that astrology article had a header on it)
why are you reading net.misc? That group is for those of us who read most
of the netnews anyway (does anybody still read it all?) and would rather have
short discussions there than the creation of dozens of groups that are only
used by a few people.
