British Virgins
As an Englishman I may say with some small sense of pride that the
British Virgins are undoubetdly the finest of their kind in the world.
Though sadly rarer nowadays than formerly, there are still some
delightful uncrowded spots to be found by the true connoissieur who
is prepared to invest the extra effort and time required. Of course
many people find that after one experience the British Virgins are no
longer as enjoyable as they were beforehand. But my own, more
conservative view, is that one's capacity to enjoy them increases
with time and familiarity.
British Virgins have been plagued of late by vast influxes of
determined foreign visitors, many of them Americans I'm sorry to say.
They come in flashing their bulging billfolds everywhere, and offering
free nylons, and ultimately they spoil the British Virgins for
everyone, pricing more careful punters right out of the market.
My final advice: enjoy the British Virgins while you can, as often as
you can, but spare a thought for the sensibilities of others as you
enjoy a good romp all-over. And for heavens sake clean up after
yourself. Passports are required, take a little extra cash, some of
the Virgins are best suited to expensive surroundings. Early closing
on Wednesday.
