Star Trek III answers
Good job by Jennifer from Duke and Phil Karn, however, Steve
Goldsmith had the most correct. In fact I am using his answers
here as a basis for my reply:
1. There were actually quite a few episodes where Spock showed
emotion.
1. The Naked Time. He never told his mother that he loved her.
(Spock caught a virus from Nurse Chappel that infected the crew)
2. This Side of Paradise. This is the first time Spock falls in love
(The spores did it!)
3. Operation Annihilate. Spock tries to take over the
Enterprise. Later he gains control over the pain and behaves
himself for the rest of the episode.
(he was attacked by one of those brain cells)
4. Amok Time. This is the second time Spock falls in love
(this one is back on his home planet with his fiance)
By the way, Phil Karn was the only one to remember the real
show of emotion in this episode. It was when Spock saw Kirk
again after he though he had killed him, and Spock let out a
burst of emotion "that would have brought the house down"
as Doc McCoy said.
5. Plato's Stepchildren. Parmen forces laughter and tears
from Spock.
6. Is There in Truth No Beauty. Once again spock goes mad.
(I had this one as questionable along with the one where
Henoch uses Spock's body to build (supposedly) robots for
himself, Sargon, and his wife.)
7. Day of the Dove. Spock shows brief emotion in this
episode when he tries to whop off Scotty's head.
8. All our Yesterdays. This is the third time Spock falls
in love (almost as often as Kirk).
(this is with Zarabeth in the ice age)
Other questionable ones are: And the Children Shall Lead,
The Enterprise Incident, Devil in the Dark, The Galileo 7,
The Menagerie, Where No Man Has Gone Before, The Man Trap

2. Spock says "He knows" twice. Both times he said it to Dr. McCoy
and both times he was referring to Captain Kirk.
1. Episode: Arena.
Full quote: "He knows Doctor. He has reasoned it out"
Reason: Captain Kirk as just discovered gunpowder.
2. Episode: City on the edge of Forever.
Full quote: "He knows Doctor. He knows."
Reason: Captain Kirk just prevented Dr. McCoy from
saving Edith Keeler's life.
3. Nomads three errors:
1. He mistook Kirk for his creator Roykirk.
2. He failed to notice his error.
3. He failed to correct his error.
I always though these were a little contrived but Nomad fell for them.
(I agree with Steve!)
No one was able to get the question: which two episodes were
referenced by Kirk (in Dr. Janice Lester's body) in
"Turnabout Intruder?"
The two episodes were: "The Empath" and "The Tholian Web."
The quotes went something like this:
"When the Vians of Minara demanded that we let Bones die, we
did not permit it!"
"When the Enterprise was caught in the interphase of the
Tholian sector, you risked the Enterprise to save the
captain. Will you risk that now?"
Another question about references that I forgot to ask was:
At the beginning of the show "Assignment: Earth" which
episode did Kirk refer to in his log? This is a bit easier
because it was tied in with the episode.
Well so much for STIII. STIV and STV will be coming out
soon. How much do you know about abnormal time travel?
