In view of the not so recent slew of Dr. Strangelove questions, I
thought that I would roll the clock forward a bit and
ask some "2001" questions.
But let us start with a history question:
1) what film or films did Stanley Kubrick direct, before
Dr. Strangelove?
Now the meat, starting with a multipart computer science question.
2) a) Who played HAL?
b) Where was he born?
c) What does HAL stand for?
d) What unit did HAL claim failed (be specific)?
While you are puzzling those, there is a multipart telephony question:
3) a) Who played Dr. Floyd's daughter?
b) What did Dr. Floyd call her?
c) What did she want for her birthday?
d) How much did the call cost?
For those of you who find these too easy, there is a super bonous question:
How many steps are there to the 0-G toilet instructions?
List the text of the shortest.

1) there are three
2) d) 5 characters are sufficient.
3) a) she was not in the credits!

There is one question here that I do not know the answer
to. I am hoping someone will answer it.
