Cursed rings; Things I'd like to see
Rather than have a nymph "remove" your cursed rings, the "Remove Curse"
scroll ("You fell like someone is watching over you") is fairly common,
and removes all curses from you. Alternatively, since the Enchant Weapon
and Enchant Armor scrolls remove curses, you could try *wielding* the ring
and reading Enchant Weapon.  (wielding a cursed ring without the scroll is
bad news, though.)

Several things I'd like to see in future versions of rogue:
       1) The c command should allow you to name *any* object, including
weapons, armor, and previously identified objects.  For example, you could
name an arrow-trap arrow "Not Magic" to differentiate it from unidentified,
possibly magic arrows.  Also, since many staves and wands have multiple
charges in them but are eventually used up, you could name one "use first"
or "used up" (prevents re-finding it after dropping it).

       2) In dark rooms, the cluster of little dots that follows you around
isn't really necessary, and eats up a lot of modem and cpu time refreshing
itself.  These should either be optional or deleted, especially since rogue
seems to be in the "top 10 commands list" at many locations.

       3) It would be nice if the status line included weapon strength, when
known.

       4) If it isn't to much overhead, the status line should also include
a (semi-)real-time clock.  Updating every 5 minutes or nnn steps is fine.

       5) A scratch-pad command would be useful, especially for playing
previously saved games.  One command would write, another print out.

       6) Traps should affect monsters as well as players.  Thus, leading
a Xorn by a beartrap could add to your lifetime.

       7) On the other hand, occasionally the arrow-trap arrows that HIT
you should be magic (i.e. fatal).  Fair is fair, after all.

       8) If you throw a potion at a monster, there should be some
probability of it being effective.  Thus, you could throw a potion of
blindness at an Umber Hulk, or Raise Level at a Purple Worm.

               Cheers,   Bill Stewart
