Dr. Pepper followup/query
Although everybody knows that 10, 2, and 4 are the "Dr. Pepper Times",
(the times when the Dr. Pepper ad men feel you are most run down and
need a little "pick-me-up" (aka blood sugar rush) to get you to the
next meal), I have another Dr. P. question:

Does anybody know what the principal flavor in Dr. Pepper is? (Or what it's
supposed to be)?

Many people have suggested black cherry; but Dr. P. doesn't taste a bit
like cherry to me and I suspect that the black cherry is an imaginary
fruit anyway.

I've always thought it tasted more like prunes than anything else...
Which is not to say it isn't any good; I'd rate it well ahead of Pepsi
(but after Coke, natch).

                                               A cola connoiseur
p.s.
Having decided to postpone sending this in case someone else asked the
question, I came across the "Dr. Pepper does it ... with prunes." joke [?]
Is this a precognitive answer to my question?
