You faint from lack of food...
Does anyone out there have any helpful hints about food,
or lack of it?  When I first started playing Rogue I
would eat as soon as I got hungry.  Then I realized I
could still go on and I would then eat when I became
weak.  Now I even go around weak for a little while,
being careful not to go too long lest I meet some merciless
monster.
My trouble is that I still use up more food than I would
like to.  Is there any way to use less food?  Does the
number of items I am carrying have anything to do with
it?  Maybe I am just moving around too much and wasting
my time (and food).  Any suggestions?
