Quitting
What I read in Mark's comment is that more often than not quitting is
the same as being killed -- had you not quit, then getting killed
would have been a certainty.  This makes quitting vs. getting killed
a non-decision (Do I get killed and lose 10% or do I quit and get into
the top 10.)  It strikes me that one should not be allowed to quit
if one is actively engaged in combat (including being transfixed.)
Theoretically, if you are say trapped in a passage between two critters
or transfixed by a floating eye, it *was* your decision (somehow) to
get into that position.  You should only be allowed to quit with your
full gold value if you decide to quit while not under attack.
