This list is limited (like mark's) to only one entry per rogue.
Also, I now believe that our #1 score was also caused by the infamous
"invincible bug". I was the rogue in question, and here is what I recall
occurred:
I had a cursed ring on my hand - I think it was -1 strength,
but I can't really remember what it was.
Somewhere around level 17 the Nymph stole the ring.
The hand was still cursed - I couldn't put any rings on it.
But I was invulnerable. I destroyed monsters at will, with
no damage to myself. It was the most enjoyable 6 levels of
rogue playing I've ever had.
But all things must end, and at the time I didn't realize what had
happened (just thought it had to do with my experience or something).
I made the mistake of reading a remove curse scroll.
I was no longer invincible anymore, and succumbed to a succesion
of Xorns and Umberhulks, finally "chickening out" to save the
score over 7000.
By the way, quitters are considered the lowest form around here.
I took so much abuse because I quit that I doubt I'll do it again.
