Here is a list of the games in /usr/games on 4.1BSD. All run
on vaxen with Berkeley Unix - most can be made to work on
other systems.
aardvark
An adventure style game - pretty simple but a nontrivial
example of a game written in DDL.
adventure
The usual game. This is the Rand translation, not the
BTL translation.
aliens
Also known as invade - a version of space invaders.
arithmetic
number drill
backgammon
while Berkeley has a screen oriented version, this seems
to be the straight bell version.
banner
High quality huge signs.
bcd
straight v7
boggle
the Parker Bros game. Be humiliated by the computer.
chase
avoid robots by leading them into electric fences.
chess
straight v7, but runs on vax in compatibility mode.
ching
straight v7.
cribbage
you vs the computer. not screen oriented.
doctor
the eliza script. runs in Franz Lisp.
fish
v7.
fortune
Many fortunes not in the Bell version. Many are humorous.
If you use the -o or -a flag, some offensive fortunes are
possible.
hangman
A screen oriented version.
mille
Screen oriented version of French card game Mille Bourne
monop
Non-screen monopoly

crt hack - simulates raindrops on your screen
rogue
The famous D&D game - screen oriented - halts almost
all useful work.
snake
CRT chase game - don't get eaten by the snake.
ssssss
AI game that plays snake. Boring.
trek
Star trek - this is the Eric Allman version. Very fancy
command oriented quadrant/sector game. Not screen oriented.
worm
Eat money on the screen without running into your own tail,
which grows longer and longe.
worms
CRT hack - worms crawl all over your screen.
wump
v7 wumpus.
zork
The famous PDP-11 binary, running in compatibility mode on
a vax.
