GTC SW10
>From cbosg!cbosgd!mark@Berkeley Tue Feb 23 21:56:41 1982
This terminal sounds very similar to the TAB 132, except that the TAB
is truly a superset of the VT100. I suspect it really was doing xon/xoff,
but at 1200 baud you'd never notice padding problems on a real vt100.
You didn't say what it costs!
It's probably worth noting that any terminal which claims to be a vt100
emulator is not worth much unless it really is a superset, since programs
that talk to vt100's tend to REALLY USE all the vt100-specific features,
in particular, tall/wide characters and several kinds of video attributes
seem to be very widespread in such programs.
However, as an ordinary terminal, assuming reasonable software that will
talk to many terminals, the GTC may be a good terminal. However, if it
doesn't have at least insert/delete line/character (you didn't say) then
it's probably no better than the h19 and so shouldn't cost over $600.
(Those of you who are religiously wed to detachable keyboards, turning off
xon/xoff, and multiple pages of memory might disagree.)
