Does anybody have 16-bit multiplication/division/remainder
subroutines for the 6502?

                       Thanks,

Re:   6502 assembler that runs under UNIX

Does anyone have any pointers to a cross assembler for the 6502 that
runs on a UNIX system? I am not on info-micro, so could you CC a copy
of your reply to HQM@AI

thank you.

Re:   6809 CROSS ASSEMBELER

DOES ANYBODY HAVE A CROSS-ASSEMBLER THAT WILL RUN ON RT-11 FOR THE
6809.  A GOOD CROSS-ASSEMBLER FOR THE 6809 MIGHT DO THE TRICK .... IF
IT IS WRITTEN IN FORTRAN..    ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL

Re:   Speed comparison TI/990 vs PDP-11

There is a company in town that sells turnkey systems to heavy
equipment operators. They have their software up on several different
micros.

Their experience is that for comparably priced CPU pairs, the TI will
run 50 to 80% faster.

Re:   Question about TRS-80's

I have another problem that I thought I'd throw out to the
info-micro world and see if I can get an answer.

I have access to a TRS-80 running TRSDOS and I need to program in
C on this machine.  What is the least expensive way to do this?
As I see it this is actually two questions:
       1) Is there a TRSDOS C Compiler ?
       2) How much would it cost to convert a TRSDOS machine
          to run CP/M ?

  thanx in advance,
       Michael Toy

Subject: fig-FORTH

I recently bought the source for fig-FORTH from Mountain View press
for the 6809 (SWTPc). After typing it in and correcting all of the
errors, I got it running. However, I am puzzled by the COLD start.
Whenever I do a COLD start, my disk drive cuts in and then FORTH gives
me an error (just a ^G and ?). Is there some file on the drive that
FORTH is looking for? Also, the disk access is directly interfaced to
the disk drivers in FLEX. Therefore, FORTH doesnt care what FLEX files
exist. There seems to be no way for me to LIST the different SCReens
in FORTH. All I get is the directory and other binary files dumped to
my terminal. Can anyone out there explain to me FORTH's disk access
and what my be causing the cold start error?

Can someone out there explain how to list a definition that has been
typed in to forth? And also, how to save/re-load it from the disk?

                                    Thanks,

Re:   Disk Shipping

When I send a disk, I simply:

A) Wrap it between two pieces of cardboard (With tape of course)
B) Put it in a small box (I usually use a box that contained new
disks) and put newpaper around the disk inside the box.
C) The last step is to wrap the box, then on the ouside write
   something to the effect of:

COMPUTER MEDIA:  DO NOT FOLD and oiccaisonally:
COMPUTER MEDIA: DO NOT XRAY OR FOLD!!

And to this date, I have never had any folded or mutilated disks
arrive (or any complaints from friends about my disks) here.

Hope this helps;
                       -Rob.

       CCS 2422A DISK CONTROLLER FIX

               Chuck Weingart

               Chicago IL 60622
               5/14/81

The California Computer Systems 2422 disk controller is claimed
to be IEE 696 compatible, but it isnt quite, and it does not
work with several good Z80 CPU boards, like the Cromemco SCC or
the Vector Graphics Z80 Cpu. Here is the fix for that:

Break the connection to U36 Pin 12 (I did it under the 1793 chip,
where it is invisible). Connect a 400pf cap. between U36 P12 and
ground. Connect a 220 ohm resistor between U36 P12 and U6 Pin 6. This
will delay the PWR* signal from the CPU until the 1793 has been
selected and performed internal operations.  The CCS CPU card has a
delay of 62ns on the PWR signal, but that delay is quite longer than
the IEEE specs, and other IEEE compatible boards do not have the delay
necessary to make the 1793 chip work right.
