There's two ways to use this (or any other) walkthrough: either as a last
resort when you're stuck, or as a map to get through in the fastest time
possible. I heartily recommend the first use, since the puzzles in GK2 are not
that hard and the satisfaction when you solve one on your own is very
rewarding. Besides, slamming through as noted here takes at least four hours
anyway, so you might as well slow down and have some fun.
When you have the opportunity to "talk" to a character, say everything
you're given to say. With one exception that will be noted, you can go in any
order you like. When you have the opportunity to read something, it's often
helpful to have the character read it out loud; sometimes they'll add useful
comments along the way. In general, there's no time constraints in this game,
and you can have Gabe or Grace just stand there while you think. In those
places where time is an issue, I'll remind you to save before it starts.
I haven't noted many explorations that garner no points and have no effect
on the final game. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't click on
everything you can; there's some fun comments scattered throughout (like
Gabriel's comment on the woodpecker clock before he buys it). Always look at
things after you pick them up, and read Grace's notebook every now and then to
see what she thinks of what she's seen and heard. Her omissions are sometimes
as revealing as her notes.
This game gave me 678 points out of a possible 679. I suspect that the
ending movie counts as that last point, but if you find a point I missed,
please let me know; this kind of thing drives me nuts.
