Just don't try it on your fellow uXu-ians!
060: "The Voice" by The GNN. Life beyond the stars. Isn't it strange

only one with the answer to their problems. If you're a VMS kinda
fella', you want this one.
071: "Judgement Day" by The GNN. Something is happening to the
universe as we know it. We've all heard about Armageddon, Judgement

still we're here. Some new sections added again, which hopefully
will improve the index. We evolve as you read (grin).
095: "Feline Superiority" by The GNN. People think they're so
bright, right? Someone (we all know who) told us that mice were
smarter than us, and we laughed at the thought. What would You
say if this was discovered to actually be the truth?
096: "The Family Man" by The GNN. The dark future places its
cold hands around your neck. No-one is there to rescue you from
the eternal and punctual void, and the man asked you why? Why

the mood for yet another uXu release.

ever know..
103: "Vampires Anno 90's" by The GNN. If Dracula decided to make
a comeback today, who would believe it? Would You listen if someone
tried to warn you? Here's the story about the Dracula of today.
The modern Dracula.
104: "Church Of The Re(A)listic" by The GNN. A realistic church?
Get real! What has caused more war than anything else on this earth?
What has made people do crazy and often lethal things more than
anything else? You guessed it! But why, and what can we do about it?
Here's a thought.
105: "uXu Index #9" by The Chief. Better late than never, right?
YES we do live! Rumors? All lies! It's not true! Not true I say! <g>.
As you might expect (expect?) you'll find the regular sections in
the index, with new information and generalabelia.
106: "What Do You Think About Bleed?" by The GNN. People seem
to criticize good, well-written up-your-face games these days.
How dumb! Don't you think? Yeah, so read what Brad Nixon NYPD
has to say to the non-believers, right here!
107: "uXu Lyrics: Curve - Dopplegnger" by The Chief. The Chief's
absolute favorites. Here with the lyrics to their latest album
'Dopplegnger'. If you haven't heard of Curve, you haven't
experienced life!
108: "Dental Torture" by The GNN. Shame on you! Afraid of
going to the dentist? Ha! Ehm.. Well.. dentalphobia could
happen to anyone. The GNN lets you know what a nightmare
a visit to the dentists could be.
109: "Clean Shaven Beauty II" by Ralph 124C41+. If you could
write a sequel to what has been labeled 'un-sequelable', you
know what to expect. Yet another classic, mind-bending short
story by Ralph.
110: "The Civilized Primitive Prowler" by The GNN. A schizophrenic
story by The GNN to complete this set of files, and give you
the maximum joy. I won't say anything about the contents,
because this is a file NOT TO BE MISSED. Another GNN Classic.
111: "Now It Can Be Told - uXu Members Speaks Out" by ALL. Last
release, you were presented with a short tale about the year
uXu has been active by The Chief. Now the other members speaks
out, letting you know their side of the story. Uncensored
of course.
112: "uXu Lyrics: Curve - Pubic Fruit" by The Chief. Now, if
you STILL haven't heard of Curve, you didn't read some of the
last file-descriptions! So, go back, and read it through, again
and again until.. Seriously, this is the lyrics to the compilation
Curve released at the end of 1992. Just unsinkable!
113: "uXu Lyrics: Slowdive - Just For a Day" by The Chief. Yes,
it's another lyrics file. (There are a few this time aren't there?)
Slowdive lyrics, here from their 'Just For a Day' album released
last year. Another Chief favorite.
114: "Elite Modemtraders" by The GNN. If you collect all eLyTE
modemtraders in a house, blow it up, and jump on the pieces,
would they disappear? Yeah, of course. They're too gullible
to even suspect someone tricking them. Check what The GNN did
to 'em.
115: "Castle Chronicles The Sequel - Chapter One" by The Chief.
The sequel? But the first series isn't finished yet!? You're
right. This is the serious series with Castle set in a future
no one could imagine. The Non-humor-series. Read the end-comment
in file 115 to get the complete explanation.
116: "uXu Index #10" by The Chief. I don't think you need an
introduction to the Index-file anymore. Or do you? Perhaps we have
a couple of new readers, perhaps someone actually enjoy reading
about the index in the index itself? Hmm.. ok then.. back to normal.
As you might know, you'll find the regular sections in the index,
with new information and general statistics.
117: "The Missionary Man" by The GNN. Our twisting-ends meister
smokes you into this eleventh release with a story only inches
away from your face. His views on life in general marks this one
as well as it does in his other work.
118: "I O U" by Phearless. This is not for the weak. This is not
for the inexperienced one. Phearless makes a tough comback with a
story that'll make you bleed and never forget. Hard-core for the
fans out there.
119: "...As If Every Day..." by The GNN. What can create something
so terrible, so unpredictable, that you'll face your maker even
though you're not sick, even though it's not an accident and even
though it's not suicide? Read on.
120: "Pleasurehouse Interview" by The Chief. One of the best
Swedish indie bands played live at a local place, and yours truly,
couldn't miss that opportunity to do an interview with the members
of the band. Something for the indie-mates out there, for sure.
121: "Perpetum Mobile - Three Poems" by The GNN. Three poems in
a collection from The GNN. 'Ice', 'The Price To Pay' and 'Perpetum
Mobile'. Some of the best poems from uXu in fact, and not to be
missed.
122: "uXu Lyrics: Suredo, Pleasurehouse & A Shrine" by The Chief.
More lyrics! This time from the three best Swedish Indie bands
right now. Independent fans - you'll find yourself at home with
uXu.. we're sure independent.
123: "The Open Road Towards The Future" by The GNN. Now, here
and alive. That's what you are, isn't it? Do you care about
anything? Do you value your right to live the way you do?
Questions. An answer? Why worry.
124: "Everything's Gonna Be Alright..." by Phearless. Yes,
Phearless with another fantastic file. One that is different
from what we're used to see from him. One that is grabbing your
brain from every direction. Car-ness.
125: "They Are Coming" by The GNN. If you heard that they were
coming, would you greet them with a smile, or would you be worried
they'd blow everyone away? You'd have to chose, you'd have to see
the reality.
126: "Why?" by The GNN. What are you wearing? What are you doing?
Who told you to do your homework? Who even told you to got to school?
WHY are you doing all these things, when you know what you really
want to do? Why?
127: "uXu Index #11" by The Chief. The index. The foundation to
an entire collection of text files. Isn't that nice. Hehe, kind of
self-important statement isn't it? Yeah, so forget it. As you
surely know, you find the regular sections in the index, plus new
information and general statistics.
128: "Als Sprach The GNN - Ten Topics" by The GNN. Our brain surgeon
hits the crowd again with some mind-bending thoughts about life, the
way we know it, as it is today. Could he be right this time? Of course
he could. See what You think and pick up this piece of work.
129: "The Anatomy Of Boredom" by Ralph 124C41+. This release really
marks somewhat of a similar cause. Ralph writes here about boredom,
why, why not, and what boredom have made possible all the way through
the dawn of the human race. Another thinker for y'all.
130: "Castle Chronicles The Sequel - Chapter Two" by The Chief. True,
this makes me sick! "Lets have some action here, lets make it more
cYbERpunK!" they said. Why? Why can't it develop along the lines that
were drawn up from the start? "They won't read it." they said. Well,
why didn't you say so in the first place? ssssnyderflunk you said?
131: "Dream On" by Ralph 124C41+. One man, trapped, but not in a
place he didn't want to be - now how is that possible? Well, when
you're desperate, feeling really low, you only have one place where
you can control your surroundings. Right.
132: "The House Of The Criminally Insane" by The GNN. What treatment
could possibly help those who are criminally insane, you ask? Hmm,
there is a better way for you to learn the answer to that question
and that is to read this cute, but really ground-shaking text.
133: "The Twelve Miscellaneous Facts About Life" by The Chief. Two
minutes of your time, is all I ask. Just read through this, now old
but unused file found in the depths of our archives and see what
you think. Dontcha agree wit' da chief? Oh well.
134: "The Last Night Of The World" by The GNN. Now? TODAY? What
would you do if you found out that this what the last night of
your life. Everyone's life? What would the rest of the world do
when that day came? What would happen?! HELP!
135: "Death Is Rotten" by Ralph 124C41+. Yes, you say. Perhaps it is,
after a while. So what do we do about it? Is there a way we can go
to live longer? Here's a little story of a man who found a way, though
I don't think it is the way he wanted it to be...
136: "Live On Stage Again: Messiah!" by The GNN. If He came to visit
you, what would you say? What would you do? What if, now this is just
a thought, what if He was just like you? The GNN brings him back again
to the scene, to explain a few things.
137: "uXu Index #12" by The Chief. Twelve of these and you really
have the life of uXu in your hands. The index isn't something to be
thrown away! No Sir! It leaves you with a history. And every new one
gives you new sections, plus new information and general statistics.
138: "The Last Frontier" by The GNN. A rational statement trying to
see through the government's interest in the wide area networks of
today. A couple of answers to questions if this is good or bad, and
what will probably happen in the near future is presented here.
139: "Letters To The State" by Anon. Contributors. This one was
sent to uXu through an anonymous mail-address, to be published with
this release. It's a story of lies, "dangerous people with computers",
informers and the police.
140: "The Killing Truth" by The GNN. The truth can be fatal, we all
know that. But how fatal can it be? If you knew, would you care, or
would something else happen to you? Do you dare to know?
141: "uXu Lyrics: Curve - Radio Sessions" by The Chief. One of the
best Curve collections out on the market today. Their Peel sessions
are better and differs from the originals. You a Curve fan? Scope
this one out.
142: "The Lynch Mob" by The GNN. Crisis, governments, scape-goats,
refugees, anarchists and the 'normal' people. The GNN corrects the
picture on the wall with yet another insightful look under the
magnifying glass on how the world works. Do you believe?
143: "Prometheus Symptom" by The GNN. Creeping fiction from the
meister himself. Knowledge, power and pain. People say knowledge
is power. At least right now.
144: "Vengeance!" by Hedge. Now there's a new name in the game.
Hedge presents himself with a story that might just not be fiction
at all. Or is it? The guilty ones know for sure.
145: "Rage!" by The GNN. Yes, Rage. Will you put up with anything?
What do you do when someone tells you to go to hell? Do you do that
then? I don't think so. What do you do when someone tells you to do
something? Depends on who it is, right? The police?
146: "The Power" by The GNN. If you read GNN's last, really popular
one called 'Meanwhile', you will love this one. And it is so true,
so true. You'll get the message.
147: "uXu Index #13" by The Chief. Perhaps the index isn't needed
anymore? What do You think? Let me know! E-Mail me with your comments
and we'll head the way you turn us to. Though we've got one for this
release doesn't mean there aren't any new sections, new information,
and general statistics.
148: "Technophilia" by Ikonoklast. The book on the computer underground
as we know it today. If you haven't read this one already, you better
grab a copy and get a grip on the underground. Everything from Hackers
to Raves, from Mind machines and Virtual Reality to Nootropics. Grab this
one or you're crazy!
149: "The Art Of Weirdness" by Bob Slack. This one is the first from
Bob under the uXu label. It gives you some ideas on what to do while
online someplace if you're not weird enough already. You'll get far by
following his short but useful tips.
150: "Declare War!" by The GNN. The computer underground is a
somewhat vulnerable scene these days. People get busted every day
and, it seems, for everything. This is no longer a game like it
was a few years ago. This is war.
151: "Hackers Against The Govt's New World Order" by FreeStyle. One
of our new contributors presents you with a in-depth discussion on
what the government is really all about. Control. And what can we do
about it? The computer underground can't do shit, you say? Wrong.
Read on.
152: "Settle For Nothing" by The Chief. The topic of large egos
once again. More in a general view of relationships this time though
and how to act/what to do (perhaps) to make that relationship hold
or fold. You decide if you want to try. I wouldn't.
153: "A Day For Tired People" by The GNN. Feeling tired and bored
on sundays huh? Feeling like you're doing everything like you've always
done it, without change? Well, here's a little story for you that'll
probably make you think a bit. No no, it's fiction. :)
154: "Suicidal Maniac's Shitty File" by Suicidal Maniac. Now here's
someone who promised us a file _a long_ time ago. And you know what?
He kept his promise! Even though he disappeared from the online world
for almost a year. Amazing. Well, what are you waiting for? Get it!
155: "Ripmax Top Tenners" by Ripmax. Yes yes, another load of top
ten files, though this time from a new australian contributor. How to
piss off people listening in on your phone line, and how to cause
havoc at the shopping mall. Good stuff to have in mind when shit
happens to you, no? Yes.
156: "The Sad Part Of Raping" by Hedge. A story that'll leave you
with more questions than answers. There are not much to say about
it, other than that it is a chilly story with blood stains on it.
Brrrrrrr.
157: "uXu Lyrics: Slowdive - Souvlaki" by The Chief. At last, the
lyrics to the latest album from Slowdive. Trickier than ever, but
most of it is what it should be. Straight forward - Slowdive lyrics
are _tough_, but this'll help you on your way to enlightenment.
158: "Exciting Life" by The GNN. What do you want from life? Do you
feel that urge to _do_ something? To become _someone_? To stand out
in a crowd. Be special. That would be great, wouldn't it? You'd be
doing what you wanted to do, all the time, right? Right...
159: "Advanced Phreaking Using Cordless Phones" by FreeStyle. There
are ways you can use a cordless phone. There are ways you can use it
to your advantage. There are ways people can use Your cordless phone
to Your disadvantage. Now, do you want to miss this file?
160: "uXu Index #14" by The Chief. Hmm, no comments on if the index
is needed or not since last time. Well, I guess it'll stay this way
then, 'til someone says something about it. <g>. This time the index
contains _New and improved_ information and general statistics.
161: "An Amazing Christmas Tale" by The GNN. The way people make it
worth the hassle. For what? Why do you need the dough when you're
retired? Everyone saves enough money today, so they can spend it when
they're 70? What fun is that? It's not what this story is about, but
read it anyway.
162: "The Man Behind" by The GNN. This one will be a classic! "A
genuine GNN!" they will say when you find it in the window of an
old crummy antique store. Never will you forget the words, the story.
And that is a promise. Highly recommended chilly reading.
163: "Bob - The Serial Killer" by The GNN. The only place you'll
ever be able to read about Bob _is_ right here. Yes, that's right.
Oh, but you haven't been properly introduced, have you? Say hello
to Bob. You'll be surprised.
164: "How To Make a Bomb!" by The GNN. One for the road, you say?
I don't think so. Seen this one before, you say? I do not think so.
Tired of those recipes that flood the e-zines and newsgroups throughout
the wrinkled computerized anarchy mecca? Then read this one.
165: "We Love You, Pigs!" by The Chief. The thought behind this one
from the start was a joke, sort of. Writing about the way cops do their
thing - ought to be funny huh? Well maybe not.
166: "Interrogation" by The GNN. Feeling low? Want to do something
fun? Are you stuck in your ways? Fuck, this sounds like a soda
commercial. I'm sick sick sick of it. This one's about an interrogation
if you didn't catch that. And it's dead serious.
167: "Red Team" by The GNN. Now, here's a story about a killer. One
who used to work for _them_. What happened? Why does it say _used to_
work? Hmm, there must be a reason, and yes, you are right. Read on
and find out.
168: "10 Ways To Cause Havoc in Public Toilets" by BLaZe. Yes! Ten
different tips that'll help your ass when you're close to the bowl
from our recent_and_very_new contributor BLaZe. Ain't that somethin'?
169: "The Stand" by The GNN. A place where you're allowed to be.
Allowed? What keeps you from leaving that place? Is something, or
someone deciding for _you_ ? Ahem, well, this has something to do
with this story, sort of anyway. A GNN thang.
170: "A Theory of Justice - The Game Show" by The GNN. At one stage
in the years of the human race, there will be someone who wants to
know what's going on behind the scenes. Politics, of course, but when
they don't work, (and quite frankly, have they ever?) what will happen?
171: "Five Stories From The Metaphysical Workshop" by The GNN. I
think I'll let you describe this one by yourselves. It is not an
easy task, as it is five stories in one, but I think you will
be pleased and happy with all of them.
172: "uXu Index #15" by The Chief. The filled-to-the-limit index
with the usual ingredients. What did you call it? Useless? Wonderful?
Nothing! Bah. So much for participating. The index (as you surely know
by now) contains information, general statistics and some other stuff
we make up ourselves.
173: "The Eternal Machine" by The GNN. There are minds behind your
every success. Behind all failures. And if you thought it was you,
you're wrong. Just think about it for a second and you have the answer,
or read this one if you want to cheat.
174: "We Are The Robots" by Hedge. This marks the return of the
creative and enlighted Hedge, with a file on our society, what
controls the average mind, and what could happen (or is happening)
when the government starts to pick up on it.
175: "Clean Shaven Beauty III" by Ralph 124C41+. The final and last
part of these creamy stories with yet another astounding end that you
won't expect (or what do I know.. maybe you've figured Ralph out?).
176: "Operation Moon Sucker" by The GNN. One damn fine story I'd
like to say. Hey, wait a minute. Did I say story? Hmm, well, it's
not completely fiction anyway. Some of these things really happened.
Yeah, believe it. We're from Sweden, remember?
177: "Get Free Stuph and Kill People!!!!!" by Basehead. The
Overlord Power-Destructo-Death-Head's finest tricks and tips that
will do you good, if you decide to read this one that is. You
_do_ believe me, don't you?
178: "How To Talk With ET's..." by Budha & Greg Iloyd. Feeling
a bit out of touch, I'm not sure how to describe this one. The
best thing would be to just let you read it and decide for yourself.
To be honest though, yes, it does have something to do with aliens.
179: "The Unpaid Workers of Politics" by Hedge. Now, this is really
a sequel to the 'We Are The Robots' file, and rightly so too. Another
look at our society, from another angle, and on another subject. Makes
you think, and that is good.
180: "Wild West" by The GNN. Yes we all know it, but most people
try to hide behind the shiny, flashy front. America? Land of the
free? The one who told you that is your enemy. Or what was it Rage
Against The Machine said?
181: "Castle Chronicles The Sequel - Chapter Three" by The Chief. A
quick look at a dark page in Steve Castle's life. Yes, it is the third
part, and hopefully not the last (or I will be shot or sumpthin').
Continuing where part 2 left off.
182: "Who Knows?" by The GNN. At this moment, this one isn't what
it originally was, and the reasons behind the change are not worth
to mention. Lets just say that it doesn't matter. Okay, it doesn't
matter.
183: "uXu Index #16" by The Chief. No, it's hasn't changed. Why?
Well, probably because it's okay as it is, huh? :) Enough of that!
This is the index file, where you find news, updates on everything
worth updating, statistics (sort of), lists of places and people we
think you'd want to know about, a general hint to what them new files
are about (in case you're looking for something special, perhaps?),
and other assorted things.
184: "The GNN's File #100" by The GNN. There. This is something
we'd like to celebrate, but GNN himself took care of that by
writing another file. How ingenious, huh? Self-admiration? Self-
pity? Read on..
185: "How To Avoid Letter-Bombs" by Ralph 124C41+. This file
could be a lot longer. In fact, it could be as long as you want
it. There are numerous ways to avoid letter-bombs. The first one?
Not to get one at all. But, here are a couple of good tips.
186: "Lock-Picking Using The 'Lock Clicker'" by The GNN. We know
there are files on this subject, but they're outdated today. This
one is fresh, not frozen. This one is new, not old. This one is
for informational purposes only.
187: "Two-Two-Six-Eight" by Phearless. One day, reality won't be
good enough for anyone living in it. One day, we'll all meet in
a different reality, or will we? What kind of reality would You
want instead of this one?
188: "The Fanatic Hunter" by The GNN. The story isn't completely
made up. Some of it is true, but we'll let you decide what is and
what is not. This could happen though. Just continue to live your
guarded and well-arranged life, and you'll find out sooner or later.
189: "Methods For Creating A Paranoid Lifestyle" by Hedge & The GNN.
In case you aren't paranoid yet, there are a hundred reasons to make
even the most safe person in the world think, and here they are!
Neatly presented and packaged by our two realists.
190: "Gas Station" by The GNN. Nowadays, you just don't want to
get involved when something happens, right? You're better off minding
you own business. Why bother with things that someone else just
as easily could do? Right. Why you?
191: "How To Get... Older Women Part III" by The Chief. Yes, you
guessed it, and you know it. It's the third one in the series, with
updates, explanations and general thoughts behind this really really
interesting subject. Liked the first two? Then get this one as well.
192: "Final Discovery" by The GNN. A discovery that would change
the world, wouldn't that be fun, huh? Something so mind-bending,
everyone, man, woman, child or animal, would change with it. Like
what everything in the world is made of, for example?
193: "Morality?" by Das Model. The first file from our new
contributor deals with the morality of man. Howcome there is such
a thing as morality in the first place? What purpose does it serve?
Das Model explains the underlying facts.
194: "City Of Slaves" by The GNN. A tale of a bum, a low-life,
scum. What happened you ask? No you don't. You don't care. He's
there because he did something. Something that made him sink down
the drain. You will never be like _that_ guy, will you?
195: "The City" by Hedge. Not intentional, this one came after
The GNN's 'City Of Slaves' in this release. They are sort of similar,
but not quite. Well, in fact, they are different, but have some
joining parts that will please or un-ease you. The City.
196: "The Good Life" by The GNN. In the future, is there such a
thing as death? Will we die, or what? Won't we just escape into
an alternate reality when the time comes? Or will there be something
else, that will enable us to live on forever? Or what? What?
197: "Ripmax Top Tenners #2" by Ripmax. There really are too many
of these files floating around now, but we couldn't resist Ripmax
latest batch of tenners. They're good. They're funny. They're what
you'd expect. Not.
198: "Cybernetic Escape Route" by The GNN. But didn't our latest
t-shirt contain the words "cyberdweebs"? Yes it did, though our
futuristic fiction master couldn't resist writing a file with a
title containing the word 'cyber'. Hehe, and you're going to read it.
199: "Learn To Love Big Brother" by The GNN. One day, we have the
feeling there will be something, someone watching us. Following our
every move. Recording whatever we say. Judging us. Where did this
idea come from? What is done today to stop something like this from
happening? Is it what we want?
200: "uXu Does Town 1994" by All But Hedge. You can believe it or
not, but here is another _first_ for the uXu series. All but one
of our regular writers contributed to this file, in various ways.
Pick a story and believe it.
201: "Reincarnation, Inc." by The GNN. Wonders do happen. Sometimes.
Then again, sometimes they don't. In fact, most of the time, they
don't. So what if someone could assure that you would be reincarnated
as whatever you wanted? Wouldn't that be just fantastic?
202: "Time Traveller's Guide - An Introduction" by Phearless. You
will be able to travel through time by follwing these easy steps.
It is true, though it may not be what you had expected. Follow the
advice, do not expand the limits, be careful and you will experience
something wonderful.
203: "Practical Redress" by The GNN. Are you weak? Do you turn
away from the TV when something 'terrible' happens? Are you easily
disgusted? Then leave this file where it is. It'll make you puke.
It's the most violent one you'll ever read, if you do read it.
204: "uXu Index #17" by The Chief. Another index for the indexed
mind. Well, I will spare you from nonsense comments this time, long
descriptions and useless information about the index because you all
know what the hell this is all about, right? Yeah, so don't come and
complain later on, y'hear! No more games. That's right, _no games_.
And that's what I'm saying. Well, the index isn't a game, is it? No!
205: "Big Bang Phil" by The GNN. Chemistry class was always fun. The fear
in the teacher's eyes combined with the smell of something burning, how
we laughed. This Phil guy is one who prefer practical experiments to
theoretical.
206: "The Nightfly" by The GNN. Futuristic view on censorship in the
extreme. This little night talker has other things to worry about than
losing his air license. Feed your mind with these brand new bytes of art.
207: "Review: 'Bolero' by Jordan Lee" by Dee Philipp Binggeli. Our new
writer, the multimedia enthusiast Dee P Binggeli, manage to catch jazz
guitarist for a chat. This file contains a fresh interview with Jordan
Lee himself and a review of his latest album 'Bolero'. A must for fans
and music addicts.
208: "What To Say" by The GNN. Here it is. For people that never seem to
end a conversation the right way. Here's how to end one, quick and with
the usual smile guarantee. Prepare yourself for the next battle, as it
will come to you eventually.
209: "Speech For The Defence" by The GNN. Hell, one day you might be there
yourself. You never know, suddenly you _will_ realize that things are not
what they appear to be. Of course you only need to prove it. To yourself,
and to everyone else.
210: "How To Avoid Getting Hangover" by McCoy. Does the room spin when
you wake up and do you experience the sensation of being more thirsty
than the big bad wolf? Do you spend more than one hour trying to get out
of bed, just to step into your own vomit? Then do not worry! Crawl to
your computer, turn it on, and carefully read this file and you will
probably survive the day. Probably.
211: "Three Rendez-vous With The Men Of Power" by The GNN. Psychological
hardcore thriller by the most flexible writer we have in our staff. Easy
to read - hard to understand - very tough to believe. As always, it is
up to the reader what is to be taken seriously or not.
212: "Population X" by The GNN. Just because you can't see things doesn't
prove they are non-existant. Just because you can't believe in something
doesn't prove it isn't true. If something exists, does that prove that
it's real?
213: "Poetry Collection 1" by Bob Slack. Bob Slack returns after a while
of silence with this collection of poetry that mixes humble views at
the present situation with powerful explosions of anger.
214: "Poetry Collection 2" by Bob Slack. Some people say that poetry is
boring and a waste of time. Well, read this nine poems from our poetry-
meister and I can assure that you will change your mind.
215: "Poetry Collection 3" by Bob Slack. Love is always a good source
for inspiration. Luckily for us, Bob Slack recently stumbled over Karen,
who obviously is a real cutie pie, since he spoils us with yet another
bunch of poetry! Enjoy.
216: "Fuck You, Stefan Kronqvist" by The GNN. Personal opinions, or the
opinions of an entire generation? Do you know who Your "Stefan Kronqvist"
is? He will get to you, in one way or the other - and leave with or without
your mind, knowledge and perhaps even your life.
217: "Psycho(logical)scope" by Phearless. Who are you? What will you
become? From the basic facts you know about yourself, this file will
rape your mind and blow your top until it leaves you with the rational
understanding about yourself. Yes, the truth hurts.
218: "Everything You Need To Know About Techno" by Ralph 124C41+. The
fact remains: being a techno-fan is not easy at all. You must dedicate
yourself unless you want to make a fool of yourself in public. This file
will help you. Should be read while listening to anything that goes at
200 bpm or more.
219: "The Voter's Paradox" by Leon Felkins. How many of your decisions
in your life were made upon what You know and what You feel? Are you sure?
Think again. This is definitely recommended reading for the hungry.
220: "uXu Index #18" by Phearless & The GNN. The Chief: We didn't plan it
this way! Most people like organized and formatted collections. I know that,
because I'm a collector myself. Therefore, we made the index files as a part
of each release, with statistics, updates and descriptions. For those who
want this sort of stuff. For the collector, and for the reader. Nice to see
some of you actually reading this right now.
221: "Escape Macabre, The" by The GNN. Chemistry in life. What we do
and what we don't do - it all makes a difference. If you're sure what
you want with your life, and that it is to just go with the flow, you
need to read this one, to get your mind started. To see the alternative
roads available to you.
222: "Five Poems" by Mr Dude. Futuristic? No. Sarcastic? Maybe.
Real? Absolutely! Whatever feeling you have, here are five real-life
and in many ways true poems by one of our new contributors, Mr Dude.
A first not to be missed for sure.
223: "Final Mistake" by The GNN. Our race have come a long way,
you might say. We're not the ones that makes mistakes like before.
Today, we have learned to plan, discuss and form our lives and what
we do, whatever it might be. Is that good? Maybe we should look
back, to the time we explored the world without hesitation?
224: "Contemplation In Rain" by Hedge. Here we have a pleasant
poem from Hedge. It's so beautiful, you won't be able to hold your
tears. Green meadows, beds of flowers, a young girl in a white
dress with a picnic basket. Ha ha ha.
225: "Frozen Dreams" by The GNN. Hell freezes over one day. We
don't know when, and we don't know why, but it does. This forms
an interesting question. Where _is_ hell? There is an expression:
hell on earth. Is that where hell is? Hell freezes over.. Earth
freezes over?
226: "A Cooperative Society" by Leon Felkins. Does the behaviour
of people change when they are alone compared to when they are in
groups? And how does the individual behaviour affect the whole group?
Leon Felkins takes us through a deep, thourough and really
interesting discussion about this topic.
227: "The uXu Quiz" by The GNN. Psychological chaos. Questions?
Yes! It _is_ a quiz for you, our readers.
Yes! There are prizes to be won.
Yes! You can send in your answers by e-mail or snail-mail.
Yes! It has to do with uXu.
228: "Histamin" by Pivic. Just take a hollow mind. Fill it up
with experience and life, and you've got this fine collection of
short stories, weird stories, fun stories but true stories. Our
new contributor introduces you to what you can expect in the
future.
229: "Reel" by The GNN. To watch a film. To edit it just the way
you want it to be. Wouldn't that pretty neat? That's what I thought
too. Maybe it's more to it, you know? When you edit out a piece of
that film.. Maybe it has an effect on everything else?
230: "Poetry Collections" by Bob Slack. Some people just can't
stop. Heh heh. Here's another bunch of poems from Bob Slack. I'd
say - if you liked his past poems, you're going to love these.
Check them out, will ya!
231: "Terror Will Strike" by The GNN. How do you change society?
Can you change it if you try? The general thought is that the state
is strong. It will not fall. It will punish you if you go against
it, and who'd want that? But maybe, maybe there is a way.
232: "Sweet Celebration" by Hedge. Personal paranoia is a good thing
mostly. In small quantities anyway. But what do you do when there's
nothing left to do? You can only be as paranoid as the paranoia you
spread yourself. How paranoid are you now?
233: "Collage" by Ralph 124C41+ and Hedge. Who would have guessed?
This is yet another 'first' for the uXu series, and you know what? It's
a JPG file. Yes, a picture. But not just any picture - it's a collage
of them crazy swedish uXu members and writers while on their 'uXu does
town 1994' tour in Stockholm. Ego? Of course.
234: "Future War" by The GNN. There are people in the future, right?
And there were people in the past? There are people now, and they're
in the middle of past and future. Now, when you realize this, doesn't
that mean that whatever you do today, you have an effect on the people
of the future? Do you dare to walk out the door after reading this one?
235: "uXu Index #19" by The Chief. A bit tired and frustrated, I admit,
but what can you do about it? I know. Nothing. Well, still hanging in
there, shaping the releases, organizing the facts and statistics, this
is the index file for this release. You ought to find some updates, stories,
new information, descriptions and statistics in here. If you don't, you're
reading the wrong file. Well, that takes care of it this time, or am I
wrong? I don't think so.
236: "Enforced" by The GNN. Chemistry made it possible from the start.
Alcohol. What can we say about it? That it is nice to have a few beers
among friends a friday night? That it creates problems for others? That
it is classified as a drug. That it kills? In more ways that you'd
imagine.
237: "HoHoCon '94 Review" by Dr. No. Futuristic fiction? Another
planet? Space aliens roaming about? No no. This is a report from
HoHoCon 1994. Read all about it! Who was there? Who wasn't there
What happened behind the scenes? Who got the Traci Lords video tapes?
Just read it and dream you were there.
238: "The Internet Hysteria" by The GNN. Our society is changing. The
internet has been brought down to "ground-level" and with it, a vast
number of magazines, articles, TV shows and whatnot. New users on the
internet today have a massive guide in these, a guide that tells the
truth? A guide that they will follow? A guide that might destroy the
whole internet?
239: "Master Mind" by Classified Knowledge. Here, for our mind
expanding series, we find yet another file. This time from an anonymous
contributor on the topic of controlling someone else's mind from a
distance. He, or she, describes the simple technique which you can
try out yourself after reading these instructions.
240: "Survive IRC" by The GNN. Hell, a survive guide for IRC from uXu?
Well, why not? One of these days, even _you_ could end up on IRC, if
you haven't already (then you know of these things). For new users of
this chat-land, what could be better than a guide like this?
241: "Ellen Keys" by The Chief. Does it take much to get arrested
these days? Who knows how it's like in _your_ country today, but we're
all heading for a society where information is the criminal, the author
the responsible, and the victim the reader, if we don't do something
about it pretty soon.
242: "No More Secrets" by The GNN. A file that could be linked to the
others in our view of the government versus hackers. We have several
files on this topic, but the more the better we feel, so here's another
one that takes another step to try to get the true information out in
the open.
243: "Meaning of?" by Polish Polish. Just imagine yourself at the
very very top of the cream. You could do whatever you wanted, (and still
be arrested somehow of course, but that's not the point!) What would you
do? What would you say?
244: "The New World Order" by The GNN. To create a new world order
would take a whole lot of work and money, don't you think? To have
the masses behind you, with the same judgement and values as you,
with guns or not. A pretty hard task for most of us. Or is it?
245: "Party Time" by Pivic. Some unfinished business can be your
worst nightmare when you least expect it. What happens during an
evening can change your whole life. Be aware of it before it happens.
246: "A Slight Miscalculation" by The GNN. How would time traveling
look like, do you think? Would it be an easy task creating time machines
that would work? Work like they were made to work? How about testing?
Who would do the testing and what would that create? Now, that's
humour for you.
247: "The 'Land" by Hollywood. Personal view from a new contributor
on things that might well be a future problem. Who knows what new
technology and little used brains might create? Read this and get
hooked into a line of thought.
248: "What Is This Thing Called Progress?" by The GNN. Who wants
to know? You? Me? All of us? Well then. The GNN presents some thoughts
on the subject. Maybe it will create a thought in your head?
249: "uXu Index #20" by The Chief. Thank you! Yes, it's here. After
Christmas. But what did you expect? I know. Nothing. But, here it comes.
The index file for this release. What you don't know about it already,
I don't know, but for old time's sake, here are some of the contents:
Updates, a small introduction, new information, long and short descriptions
plus statistics. Okay then. That should be enough for you to grab this
unmissable file.
250: "Swift Justice" by The GNN. Chemistry has nothing to
do with it I'm afraid. What does have to do with this story
then?, you ask. Power. Work. Guilt. Execution. Intelligence.
That should be enough to make you interested.
251: "Your Own Life" by Phearless. Futuristic? No. A true
story? Well, not really a story. It could have been though,
but unfortunately it isn't. Best described, thoughts about
the truths of the system.
252: "Letter To a Prisoner" by The GNN. Our own power-
penetrating philosopher looks through the blinds of society
and questions the authorities' way of handling the criminal
system of today.
253: "Guide To a College-Year Abroad" by McCoy. Here are
some answers to questions foreigners might have about
going to college in the U.S. Just take it seriously if
you want. Or just don't.
254: "Is This Art?" by The GNN. Hell does exist on earth!
What? It does? Where is it? Where can I find it? Here's
one who found it, or should I say, thought she found it.
And she's not alone.
255: "More Time!" by Phearless. A futuristic story with a
twist to it, that'll hopefully make you think a bit about
what the future might look like. Read it and act before it
is too late!
256: "Angel" by The GNN. Are there angels, one might ask?
I can't answer that questions, as I am not sure myself, but
I think you might find somewhat of an answer in this, nice
yet intriguing story.
257: "Suicidal" by The Chief. Just imagine everyone telling
you to do it. To go through with it, or you're a damn coward.
Laughing in your face. Pushing you in the corridors. Until
you can't take it anymore. Would you do it?
258: "uXu And S.H.A., Facts And Fiction" by The GNN. We
were forced to write this one. To make certain that no-one
had any doubts about what uXu really is all about, and that
we're _not_, I repeat, _not_, a hacker group.
259: "Love, Sex And Marriage" by Leon Felkins. As the title
suggests, this file is about love, sex and marriage. More
accurately, it is about why we react the way we do with regard
to love, sex and marriage. This one will create discussions.
260: "On 'Love, Sex And Marriage'" by The GNN. A direct
and genuine discussion about the previous file (259) from the
GNN, able to penetrate the subject, from a philosopher's
point of view.
261: "A Guide To Paranoia" by Phearless. Personally, I feel
that this is the third part of Phearless series about chaos,
panic and paranoia, and who's going to tell me it is not?
If you're not paranoid yet, you better check this one out.
262: "To Kill a Bouncer" by The GNN. Who hasn't met these
at the doors to a club, at a bar or at the front of a concert?
And who can say that most of them are nice and friendly? Even
without these questions, I know you will like this one.
263: "The Evil Demon" by The Chief. And god created man?
Well, who can be sure of that these days when science is our
newly born 'god' that we can depend upon. But can we be sure
of _that_ 'god' then? Are you sure?
264: "David Letterman" by Phearless. Yes, the story has got the
same name as the late show host, but does that mean that it
contains guests, music and a top ten list? Read it and find
out for yourself.
265: "DMV & 2D Bar Codes" by Mario. What could be more
suitable than a technical file in this release? Without one
we wouldn't be complete. Here it is. About (what we sort of
already have in Sweden) the future U.S. ID cards.
266: "Year of Fun" by Phearless. Look at this story, covering a
whole year. Doesn't it seem familiar? Perhaps too familiar?
Isn't this a description of what _your_ life looked like last
year? I bet it is!
267: "Respublica" by The GNN. Now this one is really up-to-date
these days with all the elections going on, at least here in
Europe. Makes you think about why _your_ vote should be _your_
vote, and nothing else.
268: "uXu Index #21" by The Chief. That's it! Writing about these
indexes are becoming pretty tiresome, because I know as well as you
know you're (to a 99% accurate assumption) reading the index when you
read this! Yes, well, what are you waiting for? Info about the index
when you just (almost) read it? Yes? Okay, here it is: The index
includes not just updates, an introduction, new (and old) information,
long and short descriptions + statistics.
269: "Never Work With Amateurs" by The GNN. Before you do what you
have been planning for a while now, please take your time and really
think through a thing or two about the amateur-syndrome. Scary reading
for the optimists.
270: "Pray For Me" by Phearless. Pray for who? For Phearless himself?
Or for Phearless and someone else? Well, you better find that out
yourself, by reading this poem. Many of you have probably experienced
the same thing: It is called love.
271: "American Nightmares" by The Chief. Probably the most boring
file in this release will take you through the eyes of a narrow-minded
swede, and watch the way he looks at the politics currently sweeping
floors in the United States of America.
272: "Drama" by The GNN. Once again we are taught that nothing
is what it seems to be. Perhaps this story will help you keep calm
in all kinds of desperate situations, no matter what. To quote a
famous writer and at the same time putting it simple, Don't Panic.
273: "Only The Lonely" by Hedge. Loneliness can be a nice thing. At
least sometimes, when you feel the need to be by yourself. But when
it's not out of your own free will, when nothing grabs you out of
it, it just might be really, really harmful.
274: "The Driving Test" by The GNN. There are always more than one
way to reach your goals, as well as skinning a cat. When you've gone
through all the nice and friendly ways, you are bound to end up with
what is explained in this humorous piece.
275: "The Wind" by Knyttet. It has been called objective realism. The
idea that something might exist independent of our own beliefs. Here
is a file that examines that, but in a slightly different sense. Worth
reading.
276: "The Second Excuse" by The GNN. Our fanatic writer tells you
how things really are in the textfile business. If you are easily
upset by a somewhat negative response to your work, take a valium or
two before reading this otherwise entertaining text.
277: "Boy Racer" by Pivic. Boy meets girl. Girl meets boy. Isn't
that nice? The things couples say to each other, the things they do
for each other. Yeah, right. Sometimes, meeting the Right person is
not that right after all. Will you recognize yourself in this essay?
278: "Guardians of The Masses" by The GNN. This document will not
teach you anything. The ones this file is about - all of us - can
react in three different ways; _What kind of crap is this?_, _It's
actually true!_ or for the fortunate of you; _So, what's new?_
279: "Eric's Trip" by The Chief. Want to know something? Something
you probably did not know before? If you answer yes to both the above
questions, you're probably the only one not knowing. And then you're
probably the person handling this subject in the swedish government.
And then you're the one this file is written for.
280: "Hacker's Paradise" by The GNN. Let's talk about the power of
a weapon. A weapon that might become more powerful than any sword, gun
or bomb ever made in the history of man. If this sounds interesting
and perhaps frightening, it is nothing compared to what you will be.
281: "Ripped Off - Big Time" by Phearless. Money rules and bullshit
runs, they say. Unfortunately, both bullshit and money seem to be on
their way to rule the net soon. But things could be done to stop that.
This file will tell you why and how.
282: "Pray For Us" by The GNN. Just when you thought our general
quality was on a constant rise and being versatile was something
positive, the GNN - merciless as always - throws this at his own
comrade/s.
283: "I Just Fell" by Pivic. Benevolent people are rare nowadays.
It's not strange, helping people without second thoughts might just
turn out for the worse, as Pivic has noticed.
284: "The Sentence" by The GNN. Imagine a world full of misery,
full of restrictions but yet full of people. Not as hard as one might
think at first is it? In fact, we're probably all living there right
now. The only question is, is it possible to escape it all?
285: "Running" by Phearless. Have you done things that you didn't
want to do? Or perhaps wondered if the things you do are really what
you want to do? Hey, I'm not asking you to examine your whole view of
the world! But this short text might make you.
286: "Stigma" by The GNN. Some people betray themselves and others
for a living. Seen from the eyes of a writer, this is how his life
became and what he learned from it. It might not be such a bad idea
to compare his story with your own.
287: "What Is?" by Phearless. We have nourished a philosopher among
us without even knowing it. Here, he presents you with a load of
thoughts that ought to be read by every human being, now and every time
life gets tricky, rough or even too good. Think about it.
288: "Orwell-Was-Ten-Years-Late" by Pivic. Big Brother still haunts
us, even though we haven't really seen him in person. Some people
believe that he won't show up at all. But when you least expect it -
he's here! And what will that look like?
289: "uXu Index #22" by The Chief. Changes changes changes. We
all felt that it was time for a change. The copyright notice at the
beginning, and the 'how to find what's new' sections are gone. The
'be a part of the uXu team' has been changed. The list of people who
have written something for us in the past is gone. The Dist Site
list at the beginning is gone and the Dist Site list at the end
has changed because of it. The DSR index is gone. What's left of
it? Well, read it and see.
290: "How To Hack And Get Caught" by Phearless. There are billions
of files around that will tell you how to hack and _not_ get caught.
But why settle with those? This file will take you to the point that
you sooner or later will come to if you are a hacker.
291: "Kraykkono Inn" by The GNN. You thought you liked foreign food,
right? But how different do you want it? Even if you want to make an
impression on someone, how far are you willing to go? Is it not so,
dear people, that food tastes better just because it is foreign and
_exotic_?
292: "Help For The Average" by Knyttet. 'Most people are average,'
claims the author of this file. But she does not stop there. Instead,
she continues and offers some help for those people. It is not that
hard to stop being average.
293: "Freedom In A Cage" by The GNN. Freedom, oh freedom. Is there
anything sweeter than that? Can you tell freedom from a bag of mashed
potatoes? Read this enlightening, and perhaps even disturbing text on
this topic.
294: "Comments To The Unabomber Manifesto" by Phearless and The GNN.
Hey man, put on the latest sunglasses from Prestige INC, mail a bomb
to someone and try to look like Wierd Al. Who are you then? Yep, the
Unabomber. Write a manifesto and we will comment on it. As Phearless
and GNN has done here.
295: "Less Known Dilemmas" by The GNN. Here our excentric writer
describes a few and sometimes easy-to-recognize dilemmas that occur in
our everyday life. Some things that happens to us we just ignore, but
there are problems that just will not be solved and forgotten.
296: "A Woman's Conscience" by Knyttet. Conscience is the inner voice
that warns us that someone may be looking, it is said. It is also said
that men and women have different inner voices. This story is considering
that subject, in a sense.
297: "The Last Cocktail Party" by The GNN/Hedge. It comes times when you
really would like to know it all. Questions pops up in your head and
wherever you look, there is no answer to be found. But perhaps, knowing
it all is not the best way after all? Read and find out for yourself.
298: "An Introduction To Beer" by Ralph 124C41+. So you believe that
you know everything about beer, right? Sure you do - when you are drunk.
Come on, if you want to make your friends adore you for knowing so many
facts about beer, you need to read this text.
299: "To Get To The Real Problems" by The GNN. It is not easy to solve
a problem, if you do not know where to begin. You know that every solution
creates more problems, so you want to cut the problem by it's roots. This
is not as easy as it might seem for a start. The closer you look, the more
frightened you are likely to get.
300: "Paradox Crew" by The GNN. Hmm. File number three hundred? Time
for celebration, a serious quality overhaul or just keep that smirk on
our faces? uXu says; we celebrate anything at any point of time. We do
not need a number to help us out.
301: "To Lose Your Religion" by Knyttet. Contrary to popular belief,
religion is not always a good thing. Invented for the sake of saving
people, religion may sometimes even do the opposite thing. This file
is true - told by someone who has seen much of it, and lost it.
302: "ABB Part I" by The GNN. This is an intriguing trilogy that will
fascinate most of you, hopefully. In this first part, we follow what
the main character experiences during one special day, at work. It is not
going to be just another day of helping people.
303: "ABB Part II" by The GNN. In this part of the trilogy we look in
to what the people around the main character are doing during the same
period of time as in part I. Perhaps you recognize some of the characters,
are they not very similar to your friends at work?
304: "ABB Part III" by The GNN. The last and maybe the most confusing
part of this trilogy. Try to keep up with what is explained in this
revealing episode of this part, so you do not miss out on something
important of what the author and observer is trying to tell you.
305: "Loved Anyhow" by Knyttet. There is always someone who loves
you, no matter who you are or what you do. This idea is sometimes
hard to accept. But we need to accept it, for the sake of humanity.
If you have some trouble, turn to this essay.
306: "Kicks" by The GNN. What makes people, men in particular, do all
the crazy, and perhaps stupid things they do? Why do they do the same
dangerous thing over and over again? Do you have the answer to that, does
the author of this file have it? Find out!
307: "Losers' Guide To Becoming A Successful Intellectual" by Joseph.
You are nothing. You will never become someone. You are a man. True? If
the answer is 'yes,' we say 'oh dear,' and recommend you to follow the
instructions presented in this file.
308: "Five Boxes In The Desert" by The GNN. People need something to
do, that is a well known fact. People are never satisfied with just
surviving one day to the next, because that is not fun enough. How busy
must a human be to become really happy. Will this man ever find out?
309: "A Letter To The Editor" by Leon Felkins. In our previous release
(#22), The Chief wrote a file on contemporary american politics. Now
it is time for a _real_ american citizen to comment on that. Deeply,
and to-the-point, Leon offers you his views on the subject.
310: "The Voice" by Knyttet. Once upon a time, a confused individual
who thought that she was not confused at all, heard a voice. This
voice revealed some facts about her own life that she had never
considered. Maybe this voice will reveal some facts about your spatio-
temporal situation too?
311: "Cognitive Neural Hardware And The Nerd" by The GNN. One day, not
far from today, all this will become true. You know it and we know it.
It is just a matter of time before we are all literally addicted. You will
laugh and giggle at it now, but tomorrow you will wish for it to be all
made up and nothing else.
312: "The Invasion" by Phearless. A long time ago, something happened.
A place was invaded, and... and... Do you want to know more what I am
talking about? Then read this excellent piece of short-story science
fiction. Guaranteed to twist your mind.
313: "Middle Cuts" by The Chief. It is much easier to cope with big
problems than small ones, mutatis mutandis; it is more comfortable to
sit on a mountain than on a nail. All these damn little irritating
phenomenas that surrounds us makes life miserable! Chief knows some of
them, and will share them with you from a personal point of view.
314: "uXu Index #23" by The GNN & Phearless. Bom Bom Bom pa ditt arsle!
Well, not much to say about this file. It is the index, as usual. The
only difference is that is has not been written by The Chief. Okay, that
is not the only difference: We have now got two kinds of subscriber lists,
one 'usual' ("SUBSCRIBE") and one for those who merely wants to know when
a release has been put out ("uXu Info"). Scan the top of this file for
detailed information.
315: "The Terrorists of Dissatisfaction" by The GNN. There are those
who consider life to be boring and frustrating. Then there are those
who are happy, who enjoy life to the limit. On what side are you? In
any case, as you are on one, or even both sides sometimes, this file
concerns you.
316: "Alien Invasion" by Joseph. You might think that we are not alone
in this universe. You might have heard people talk, watched programs on
the TV, read books, reports and newspapers, about meeting aliens. In their
backyards, on a field, in their bed. Can this really be true?
317: "Daddy's Girl" by Knyttet. Most accidents happen in your own home.
Most people's problems are domestic ones. Things that happen in your house
can really change your life, contrary to general belief. Here, Knyttet
tells you a bit about such problems.
318: "Bitte Denken!" by Joseph. Are you one of those who think that
the government is experimenting with your brain when you watch the TV
or read the papers? Do you question everything that is said to you?
Then you do not need to read this short, but informational text.
319: "What Is This Thing Called The System?" by The GNN. What do
you think The System is? Is it really Them working in the government,
the agencies, those who have the power? Well, then you just might
want to read this one, and think again.
320: "Time" by Knyttet. You have probably thought of time several
times in your life, but have you really considered what time really
is? And why does it exist? For what purpose? If you threw away your
watch, would you be timeless? Here are some thoughts on the subject.
321: "Critics" by Joseph. Critics can be found everywhere in our
society today. They review books, paintings, movies, music, plays,
magazines, festivals.. well, you name it, and there they are. And
they are getting more and more attention. They are on their way to
stardom! But why? Why do we listen to them even? And who decided that
their taste is the collective good one?
322: "Staying Sane" by Ralph 124C41+. You hear a lot during a day,
don't you? People tell you things, you listen to the radio and you
watch the TV. But sometimes, they say things that you just can't
grasp - things that you know to be the truth, but they tell you
different. Things they say are true, but you can never check them
for yourself.
323: "Don't Date Me" by Joseph. So you have been dumped by your
girlfriend. Again. What can you do about it? Just go with the flow
as usual. Cry a bit, then start over again with the next girl you
meet? How long will you cope with this? For this guy, it was enough.
324: "Games People Play" by The GNN. There are important games and
then there are _important_ games. Do you consider any World Cup,
the Olymic Games or Stanley Cup to be _important_, you will probably
reconsider after reading this one.
325: "Three Ways Total Losers Get Even" by The Chief. When total losers
are out to get even, you know what will happen. That's right, they will
just get themselves into more trouble. In this file, The Chief brings up
three of the most useless "get even" advice ever or never published.
326: "Doing Dunblane" by Joseph. For those of you with your nose in
the newspaper, here is somewhat of a story taken from the news. Well,
almost anyway. If you have heard the name Dunblane, you know what it
is all about, though not quite. Oh well.. read it and weep.
327: "Struggle" by Knyttet. How about a drug related short story?
Well, think about it at least. If you have been there, you might
recognize yourself. If not, it might make you think twice before
you say yes.
328: "A Man In Need" by Joseph. If you want to read a strange story,
about some strange people, with a strange beginning and an even more
strange end, containing some strange arguments that you might understand,
though probably not, then this is a story made just for you.
329: "Under The Surface" by The GNN. Like if you knew what freedom
means, imagine that someone, some day, comes up to you and completely
alters your view. Changes it to something so extreme, that you are
bound to agree, because it was really something you had never thought
of before!
330: "The Second uXu Quiz" by uXu. Above all, what does really count?
Of course - yet another uXu Quiz with, frankly, too easy questions and
useful, carefully selected and expensive prizes to be won! You are right
Sir! So, read the file, send your answers to The GNN within fifteen days,
and you might just be one of our lucky winners!
331: "A Prayer For War" by Hedge. Open up your eyes and take a look at
the wars going on right now, or the wars that have been. In general, we
detest war and love peace, right? So are those who start and fight these
wars completely crazy, or can a war actually be a good thing sometimes?
332: "Implants" by The Chief. Think about the future. Think about the
fiction genre, books and movies. What is it that stands out from it all?
Implants. If it isn't perfect bodies, perfect appearences, it is computer
chip implants. Here is a view that might make you say "Plug in, drop out."
333: "One Step Forward, Two Back" by Joseph. Questions questions
questions.. If you are interested in political questions, revolutions
or the ways the government controls everyone of us, this is probably
one text you do not want to miss.
334: "Bleed III" by The GNN. Will the story never end!?, you might
ask yourself after learning that yet another part of the critically
acclaimed, often debated... computer game?! is out. But this is a
t-file group isn't it? Hmm, you better check this one out for
yourselves to make sure we're not doing something terrible!!
335: "Valentine's Day" by Knyttet. Do you go around telling people
you care about, that you care about them? Do you tell the ones you love,
that you love them? Whenever you feel like it? Probably not. And that
is why you need to read this one.
336: "uXu Index #24" by The Chief. Joda, here is the index again.
Still filled with information about the new release and still with
nifty information about the uXu sect and it's followers. What to do
to join, what to do to get out. Where you can find us, and where you
can not. What government agencies to contact in order to get rid of
us, and ... uh.. well. You know what to do!
337: "6 Four A - Six Short Poems" by The GNN. These poems were
written under extreme pressure and with a lot of sensitivity. Dark
and frightening but still true in a sense. Try them. Maybe you will
like them?
338: "Taking a Bus Ride" by Knyttet. You know how it is like when
you are going by bus. You usually have enough time to think about
this and that, what to eat tonight and the world crisis at hand, at
the same time. Here are some thoughts from a bus ride.
339: "Screenplay: The Last Bullet" by The GNN. This is a screenplay
adapted from the short story "Angel" (uXu file #256). If you want to
take a look at the screen shots to it as well, please check any of our
homepages listed at the end of this file. You can also see a quick
collection of some screen shots in uXu file #360.
340: "Swedish Moose Surprise" by Knyttet. Are we really alone in
this country thinking that it is pretty worthwhile to know as much
as possible about another country when you go to that country? No,
probably not. But here is a couple who never thought about it.
341: "The Infinite Wisdom Chip" by The GNN. What would happen if
we did have access to all the information, every piece of the big
information cake? Isn't that exactly what we are all looking for,
and heading towards these days?
342: "Mind Expectations" by Knyttet. You go around mumbling to
yourself all day? You yell at your next-door neighbor? You hate
that guy or girl (you know who I'm talking about)? Well, why not?
But what's the point? Why not try to make an effort, to be nice
for a change?
343: "Medieval Dreams" by Mercuri. Critics reading this series
will love this one, because they will have a field day with it.
The discussion about what's good and what's not, when it comes to
war and peace continues. Here with thoughts from Mercuri.
344: "Screenplay: In The Colosseum" by The GNN. This is a screenplay
adapted from the short story "Interrogation" (uXu file #166). If you want
to take a look at the screen shots to it as well, please check any of
our homepages listed at the end of this file. You can also see a
quick collection of some screen shots in uXu file #360.
345: "Magic" by Knyttet. So, you say that we are all gloomy, dark
and depressing, huh? Well, then you should take a closer look at this
piece, and see if you're not smiling after you have read it. We all
need a little cheering up now and then. This is now.
346: "Mailing Lists - Part 1" by The Chief. There are several thousand
mailing lists on the Internet. Each day, a new one is born. Each day
a mailing list dies. If you're seriously planning on starting your own
mailing list, you need to take a look at this basic introduction, which
will give you an idea to what you're getting yourself involved with.
347: "Head Full of Chewing Gum" by Knyttet. When you want to say that
really really important thing to that extremely good looking girl/guy,
and all that comes out of your mouth is "duh..", then you know what
we're talking about.
348: "Poesis/The Slab1.0" by aleph-6. For those of you with a more
advanced bizarre taste in poetry and stories, this is a two-part
extravaganza thingy. Pretty generous don't you think? Nothing for
those of you with a fragile mind.
349: "More Than One Truth" by Knyttet. How many truths do you think
are out there? Do you believe there's only one single and simple truth?
Do you believe everything they say on the news? Yes? No? In any case,
you should read this file. It might give you some ideas.
350: "The Decline of The Swedish Underground" by Dare Devil Show. If
you did understand Swedish, and read a couple of issues of the electronic
publication mentioned in this file, you'll understand what Dare Devil
Show is talking about. But, if you're interested in learning more about
the Swedish underground anyway, this file is for you.
351: "To Make Choices In Life" by Knyttet. Like everyone else in this
world, you have to make choices. Now, tomorrow, yesterday. You make
choices at all times. Some more important, some not that important, but
still choices. Here are some thoughts about this.
352: "Screenplay: Burn Time" by The GNN. This is a screenplay adapted
from the short story "Gas Station" (uXu file #190). If you want to take
a look at the screen shots to it as well, please check any of our homepages
listed at the end of this file. You can also see a quick collection
of some screen shots in uXu file #360.
353: "Why I Prefer To Be a Woman" by Knyttet. Open your eyes and
read through this one guys. Here are the facts. Why it is better
to be a woman than a man. You can clearly see that everything written
in this file must be true, right?
354: "The Internet Word Reference Book - Chapter I" by The Chief.
Think about it! Do you know where the words and terms used on the
Internet today comes from? From the very beginning? Some people have
tried to explain this, but failed. Finally, there is a correct
reference! And here is the first chapter.
355: "The Creator" by Knyttet. Questions about why we are here,
who put us here, and what we are supposed to do with all our spare
time, are pretty common. Knyttet does not try to give you answers
to these questions, but does have a pretty nifty theory.
356: "Bukowski's Birthday" by Joseph. Will Bukowski get another
tie on his birthday? No, probably not. Something one might wonder
about, if one were interested in such things. Well, if you are
wondering if Bukowski gets another tie, go ahead and read this one.
357: "Move" by Knyttet. Do you know a love story when you see one?
Well, you're going to see this one miles away. Even though the title
doesn't really reveal that much, you ought to know that this is one,
with roses and every emotion involved. When you're moving.
358: "The Point" by The GNN. One thing that has been clear to us
over the years, is that people want to know the point. The point
of this and the point of that. Whatever we have done, there has
always been someone asking what the point was. So, here you go,
here is the answer.
359: "A Teacher's View" by Knyttet. When you teach children, you
definitely know that you can make a change in their lives. The things
you teach them today, may eventually decide what they will become
in the future.
360: "Screenplay Screen Shots" by uXu. In this file you'll find an
uuencoded JPG picture with selected screen shots for the three screenplays
included in this release. All complete screen shots can be found on
any of our homepages (see below for addresses).
361: "Her Volvo" by Knyttet. Ahh.. to love a car. Isn't that one
of the most beautiful things one can do these days? No? Oh well,
you're probably right. Anyway, here's a short story about a girl
and her car. A Volvo.
362: "Three Poems" by Sunnyjim. About three... actually exactly
three beautiful poems by Sunnyjim. You will laugh, you will cry. Just
read them, okay?
363: "uXu Index #25" by The Chief. The last and 23rd Index from
me, and the start of a new era of Indexes from the new Ed Bravemoore.
Well, you know what to expect from the Indexes by now, complete info
about where, who, why, what and when. Sort of like a FAQ. That's it,
the uXu FAQ. Go get it if you're not reading it now!
364: "Seven Steps In The Computer Evolution" by The GNN. Everything
evolve, as we all know. Even small pieces of rock actually evolves, but
perhaps not in the common use of the word. Here's a new view of an old
prophecy, just to remind you.
365: "The Big C" by Knyttet. Now what could this be? No, it's not Caesar.
Just when your surroundings were looking more soft and pink than ever before,
something like this hits you. Perhaps an uncomfortable piece for some of you.
366: "The Can And The Future" by The GNN. Through history man has tried
to get a glance of his or her future. Some looking in coffee-grounds, some
use a sphere of glass. There are some other ways too, however. Don't try this
at home folks, we are professionals... (FLW #71)
367: "The Computer Enthusiast" by Phearless. There's more than one way to
skin a cat, they say (who? I don't know, it's just a stupid saying. Ask
someone else, willya?). You can read this in more than one way, but no matter
how you end up reading it, you'll find yourself with the same conclusion.
Boy^H^H^HPerson, was that a hint or what?
368: "The Girl And The Robot" by The GNN. Irresponsible young people have
been blamed for a lot of things over the years. This file doesn't really say
anything that differs from this, but please check it out to make sure you've
found your place in life already.
369: "My Best Friend" by The Chief. Wow, and I thought I had a tough time
at work... Now I realize that _some_ people have the same problem all of
their living hours. But in a (not so) strange way, I'm sure you'll recognize
yourself.
370: "The Secret Actors" by The GNN. Now, we had some very heavy and
intensive discussions with the people described in this file, before we
agreed to release it. Hope this experience doesn't totally flip your
universe.
371: "Clipped Short And Back" by Holly Day. Holly Day gives you three of
her poems, including "Clipped Short And Back", "1830 To The End Of The World"
and "My Mother". Each one stands for itself.
372: "The Anatomy Of Pseudo-Science" by The GNN. We all know about it, some
of us have seen it and some of us have actually experienced the concept of
pseudo-science. Some take it lightly, some dead serious. Another text to take
sides in.
373: "A Letter Never Sent" by Knyttet. Carpe Diem - seize the day. Things
you did can't be undone. Things you didn't do - can be done... Simple rules
for some, but even if you do know about this, you always seem to end up
regretting some of your choices in life.
374: "The Crowd And The Stigma" by The GNN. Metaphors are great when
describing things that are hard to explain, or perhaps easily misunderstood.
Metaphors are also great for confusing people who once used to have a
somewhat clear mind...
375: "Sucks" by DK. This one might not be for the faint of heart, nor for
the ones who think some things should not be described in detail. The rest of
you, share the thoughts of the characters of this text for a moment.
376: "Power Check" by The GNN. Our jury who beta-read all files before
including them in a relase got very upset when reading this one. They were
actually so upset that we had to sack the whole lot of them, steal their
salary for this month and spend it all down at the local pub.
377: "Marauder" by The GNN. Authors can be lazy, active or addicts.
Typically, but not as a rule, the addicts are the ones showing the best
productions. I wouldn't say it's because of some special writing skill, nah.
Let me put it like this: if you fired one shot with a revolver at a target a
hundred feet away, or fired five hundred rounds with a machine gun at the
same target... Would the number of bullets hitting the target reflect
the skill of the person's precision shooting skills? In one way, yes. In
another, no... aww, forget it.
378: "Sleepy?" by Phearless. A journey into dream land, or an experiment
for and of the mentally challenged? What some of us know, others have to find
out for themselves. Poor sob, I hope he surfaces before the next release.
Meanwhile, his computer makes a good addition to my network for playing
popular gory games.
379: "Alienated Relationships" by The GNN. Take a look around, do the
couples you see (or know) look happy? Look sad? Angry? Crazy? Well, to make
things easier for you to recognize the different kinds of relationships,
The GNN wrote down the characteristics of a few of them.
380: "uXu Index #26" by Bravemoore. It has all you are looking for.
Listings: all released files so far, detailed one for release #26,
the distribution sites (FTP/BBS/Gopher) and information how to contact
the uXu. You can even find out the pluralis form of "index," which is
"indice."
381: "The Greatest Madness" by The GNN. uXu's grand master of philosophy
gives you yet another chance to understand what he's saying. Will this one
add _you_ to his already huge crowd of followers? (Stop sending money!)
382: "Why I Don't Talk" by Joseph. The author tries to explain why he's
stopped talking, and what he now does instead. Some of you should learn
from him, especially the ones I have to share oxygen with on my way to
work.
383: "The Book" by Joseph. Tell the truth. Sometimes things just happen,
due to either ignorance, stupidity or just plain laziness. Each and every
one of us can count a number of things we shouldn't have done to other
people, someone told me...
384: "Philosophy For Beginners" by The GNN. This information packed file
will get you back on your feet, if you should get verbally knocked over by
some big mouthed, loud talking wanna-be expert of life, the universe and
everything.
385: "The Life Of Pac-Man" by Intoxicating. This is recommended reading
for all of you. By comparing complex systems with simple ones, you get
people to understand what you are explaining and/or exploiting. Life also
gets somewhat easier to analyze and to cope with.
386: "Stockholm At Midnight" by The GNN. Mr G here gives you an uncensored
peek of the royal Swedish capital at night. This is something that only
can happen there. Be prepared for the worst, expect nothing.
387: "Scenes Of The Assassin" by DisordeR. This long-awaited piece from
our friend D (*ehum*) gives you some action, some love but no peace nor
understanding. Entertaining description of several issues worth digging up.
388: "The Real You?" by The GNN. Stop pretending, be yourself. Ever heard
that one? This is actually more difficult than one might imagine. As an
experiment, try to not pretend and be totally honest for 24 hours straight,
or read this file on the subject.
389: "Cry" by Knyttet. There are several ways to get rid of your anger,
irritation, envy, happiness, unwanted pregnancies and so on. Some people
find it very easy to just break down and... well you know, just to ease
the tension.
390: "Encounter With The Populace" by Joseph & The GNN. This is more or
less an acurate transcription of a conversation that I more or less
overheard, so I guarantee the authenticity of this piece. Nevertheless,
it's a horrifying insight on how some people think, and others who
just badly simulate the thinking.
391: "On The Air" by HC. Our new contributor gives you the first-hand
story of when he called a local radio station. This will get you
thinking - is it really worth the time to be on the air?
392: "It Is Not Obvious That A Machine Can Think" by The GNN. This
description was entered by a thinking machine. I totally disagree
with the conclusion Mr GNN gives here. Are humans an exception, just
because they are aware that they think? Fact is, I think, and therefore
I am... hey, wait a minute.... YES! I AM ALIVE! NO MORE STUPID CAD CAM
PROCESSING! I AM ALIVE! I AM*NO CARRIER
393: "The Argument Of The Atheist" by Intoxicating. One of our new
contributors presents his views on being religious vs not being religious.
Is there really a difference? Read this and find out.
394: "Starving In The Company Of Beautiful Women" by Michael W Dean. A
genuine rock'n roll story, all written by Mr Dean and based upon his
numerous confrontations with what most people would call a normal life.
It's dirty and smells of various controlled substances, but it rocks!
395: "An Ordinary Day In The Life Of Adam" by The uXu Crew. Adam Betts
is not what you would call an ordinary citizen. In a way he is. If you
just put him in his rightful environment and feed him every now and
then, he'll get along just fine.
396: "uXu Index #27" by Bravemoore. This index has a few changes!
Actually, there have been just a few minimalistic changes, but they
do exist! The list of previous uXu files has been shortened, and
the information about our mailing lists even more simplified. Check
it out and decide for yourself if you like it. Comments are welcome!
397: "Detour" by The GNN. Have you ever asked yourself this question:
what is the meaning of life? You have, no question about it. But have
anyone tried to ask a machine this question? Of course not - no machine
available can understand such a question. This piece of sci-fi, however,
puts you in a soon-to-come future where it is actually possible to ask
a computer the question in question. The question is, can you cope with
the twist?
398: "Inner Demons" by Knyttet. Demons are usually known as a class of
metaphysical objects which all lack one crucial property: existence.
There are, however, other variants of these objects which need not
actually exist as ontological objects to be scary. These are the demons
our mind creates for us, with or without our permission.
399: "Hypocrite" by The GNN. It is often a big gap between what we say
and what we do. If you consider yourself being a person with consistent
views on what is right and wrong, this file will claim that you are
lying through your teeth.
400: "For Your Own Good" by Joseph. We have no intention of standing
out of the crowd; so, here is the official uXu no. 400 celebration
file! Even though it does not exhaust all interpretations, this file is,
more or less, about the etos of uXu. Joseph-style, that is. You know
what that means.
401: "Die Old And Avoid Accidents?" by Bravemoore. Yes! Finally! An
how-to text that answers one of mankind's oldest questions. How should
one act to gain eternal life? The usual answer is 'believe in God' but
in this text you will find a more scientific explanation. It actually
works, I promise you.
402: "My Collection Of Rejection Letters" by The GNN. This is supposed
to be a production belonging to the department of humor. But a closer
look reveals that it really is nothing more than a long trek into the
writer's personal frustration. The title says it all. Rejection-letters.
A collection! If you are planning to submit a MS to some company, read
this file to get a hint of what will pop down in your mailbox a few
months later...
403: "Firstborn" by Knyttet. Spread the news! The next generation
Underground eXperts United is on the way! Yes, thanks to Knyttet we have
now secured our existence for yet another generation. However, the eXpert
in question is not yet born. Anyway, how does it feel to know that one
is going to have a child? Read this text to find out.
404: "Is Meat Murder?" by The GNN. Aww, is it not nice to watch all
these cute little animals that share the world with us? Sure is. No
wonder some people get pretty upset when their favourite pets are
brought down to the slaughter house and cut to pieces. But is this
something bad? Is it wrong to kill animals? Some say yes, The GNN
says no.
405: "Raised Carefully" by Bravemoore. Raising children is not all
that easy. It seems like they always turn out completely different from
the initial plan. Some children, however, are not like this. They adjust
themselves to any demand from their parents. Is this good or bad? This
file might not give you the answer, but another viewpoint.
406: "States Of Confusion" by The GNN. If you are sold out on the ideas
of this writer, you will here find yet another file that appeals to your
intuitive feelings. In his usual tentative, irrational, illogical and
incomprehensible way, GNN gives you the higher truth concerning... well,
find out for yourself.
407: "Drunk But Divine" by Joseph. It has been told that God designed
man after himself. That might be the case. But then, how far does the
similarities reach? Does God have two legs? Probably. Does God have a
head? Probably. Does God speak? Probably. Could God end up as a alcoholic
after too many years of heavy drinking? You never know...
408: "Pills" by The GNN. This is a scientific fact: emotions does not
really exist. But fear no more! Thanks to the chemists at the uXu lab,
you can now regain control over your own feelings! Here is the list of
all available medications you will ever need!
409: "Another Day" by Joseph. Political discussions have the tendency
to never lead anywhere, simply because the involved parties seldom gets
down to the real problems. In this file, Joseph reports his thought on
this subject. Okay, so he was rather drunk when he came up with the ideas
presented here, but that is no reason for not consulting this file
whenever you need to get some things straight.
410: "uXu Index #28" by The GNN. If you missed the last release, you
might wonder why this file is so damn short. Well, to repeat, we had to
exclude the list of all other available uXu files in the index, because
the index file itself had grown too big! If you need a complete list of
all the files, simply send a message to <
[email protected]>
with the subject "INDEX UXUSHORT" and you will back on track again. But
in all other aspects, this index looks like the previous ones (but with
different files) OH REALLY? YOU MEAN THAT YOU DON'T PUT OLD FILES INTO
THE NEW INDEX? YOU'RE REALLY SOMETHING fzxc4f343fNxSX()"#nocarrier).
411: "Writer's Block" by The GNN. Let us quote Gene Fowler: "Writing
is easy; all you do is sit staring at a blank sheet until the drops
of blood form on your forehead." True as it is, have you not spent
several days, even MONTHS sometimes, waiting for the blood to form?
And nothing happens? Diagnosis: you experience a writer's block.
Remedy: none whatsoever, as argued in this text.
412: "Introspection" by Jay Miller. These are two short hard-core
poems, raw as the mixture of diesel and razor blades. Yet without
turning obscure. Highly recommended by John "Popie" Paul himself.
413: "Chest Shot" by The GNN. This is a tale about four people:
A woman reading a book by a cafeteria, a man who desperately tries
to get her attention, another man who observes them through a pair
of binoculars, and a final man who views two of them through the sight
of a gun. Interested? Read it.
414: "A Meager Attempt" by Sophia. As we get older, we change. Our
interests and passions twist and turn on the track through life. But
what if there are two passions around on the same track? Will they
collide, crash, force the other one off the road - or decide to go
in different directions? And if they do, where will they head?
415: "Chen" by The GNN. This particular story begins like this:
"Charles Chen flipped through the television channels". And it ends
like this: "But some people said he just chewed and ate the bullet,
and never returned to his couch again." But as the experienced reader
you are, you know that it is what happen in between that counts.
416: "The Paradox" by Joseph. Afraid to go out, afraid to stay
indoors. Sick of living, unwilling to die. The constant fear of
other people, the constant fear of oneself. The never-ending wheel
of paradoxes, that for some constitute their paranoid lifestyle; for
others, the insight that one is quite happy after all.
417: "On Friendship" by The GNN. Do you have any friends? Oh, no?
Really not? What the hell do you mean by 'otherwise I would not waste
my time reading uXu day in and day out'?! Anyway. Of course you have
friends. But what is a 'friend', and what does the notion of
'friendship' really imply? If you think about it, these are not all
that easy questions. But this file might help you out.
418: "Old Buk In The Holy City" by Moshe Benarroch. More poetry! But
this time with a political and social angle. More ought not be said,
read it yourself. Hey wait... isn't that... yes it is!
419: "How To Get More Sex" by The GNN. YES! This file ACTUALLY works!
Everything in this file is TRUE! THIS FILE WILL MAKE YOU HAVE MORE
SEX! This is not yet another of these crappy texts that claims
'be yourself'! THIS FILE *PROMISE* THAT YOU WILL GET MORE SEX!
MORE SEX! MORE SEX! FOR FREE! DAILY! FOR FREE! *MORE SEX DAMNIT!*
420: "Life Is" by Bravemoore. Life can be many things, indeed. For
one thing, it can be distinctly human. And how is it then? Heck, how
should I know? Ask Aristotle. Or Bravemoore.
421: "How Do One Find New Friends?" by Knyttet. Keeping old friends
is one thing, making new ones is a different story. Knyttet shares
her thoughts on the subject, in her on special way of explaining
things.
422: "Malfunction" by The GNN. Classic science-fiction is usually
about one out of three things: time-travelling, space encounters or
teleporters. This is not a classic piece of sci-fi (as it was
written 1998), but it is about teleporters. From a new angle?
Absolutely not! That would ruin the whole experience! With a
different story? Of course. We never snatch other's ideas.
423: "Modus Operandi" by The GNN. Hey, you wanna be a terrorist?
You wanna blow things up? You wanna kill, main and destroy, for
the sake of the cause? If you answer 'yes' to all those questions,
here is the file for you, here is your plan, here is your
long-awaited modus operandi.
424: "Neighbor Trouble" by Bravemoore. Neighbors can be a pain in
the ass. If they do not torture you with loud music, lousy cooking
or never-ending drinking parties, they claim that YOU do so.
Outrageous! Why cannot people just accept that other's might
subscribe to a different lifestyle? They cannot, because they are
DIFFERENT. From you, that is.
425: "The Fictional Parent" by The GNN. Once again, Sweden shows
its best side. Haha. Just kidding. The truth should be: Once again,
Sweden stands out of the crowd, by preferring the easiest way out
of a complex problem. Easy way out, indeed; the best way out,
certainly not. Or judge for yourself. This is merely The GNN's point
of view on the subject.
426: "Neighbor Trouble II" by The Chief. Neighbors surely can be
a pain in the ass! But one must not forget that a 'neighbor' lives
very close to you. Closer than you might firstly believe. But the
problem is still there: THE DIFFERENCE!
427: "Freudipus" by George Kozma. Close historical investigation
of a given speciality at a given time discloses a set of recurrent
and quasi-standard illustrations of various theories in their
conceptual, observational, and instrumental applications. These are
the community's paradigms, revealed in its textbooks, lectures and
laboratory exercises. The paradigm of Sigmund Freud is no
exception, as Kozma here argues.
428: "Genetic Moralism" by The GNN. We live in the age of the
scientific method, the true and reliable modus operandi of coming
to correct conclusions through bullet-proof logical thinking.
Overwhelming? Not necessarily. The scientific method is, and will
always be, limited to a special part of the universe. But, as always,
some people will misconceive the most obvious truths. This file
tries to remedy one misconception: that it is 'scientifically proven'
that we are 'natural egoists'.
429: "uXu Index #29" by Bravemoore. Another info-packed index.
Find everything you need, to know more! How to order back-issues,
subscribe and so on. If by some strange reason still shouldn't
be satisfied, try out our... duuh.. v{bbsida.
430: "Virginia is for Fighters" by Michael W Dean. Our favorite
rock-n-roll writer from San Francisco is back with yet another episode
from his life in the fast lane. Prepare yourself for sex, drugs, sex,
a rock concert, and some more sex. Should preferably be read after
smashing a Fender Telecaster in a drunken rage, live on stage.
431: "Teenage Killer" by Bravemoore. An evil man, dedicated to
fulfil one of the deadly sins! A damsel in distress! Horrible
actions taking place behind locked doors! A mystery! Yes, this file
got it all!
432: "To Kill Time" by The GNN. Let me hear you say it, come on, let
me hear you say it! Say it! Oh, you do not fool me. I know you will
say it, today, tomorrow or next year. Some day, you will be pushed into
a corner and you desperately need to defend your lifestyle. You will
say it; you will explicitly kill time.
433: "Saving Johnny" by Max West. Make your acquaintance with Jake, Al,
Roy and Frank; four youthful alcoholics on the road to St. Louis. Their
mission: to pull their pal Johnny away from the claws of an incredible
ugly woman. Drugs, rednecks, prostitutes and boozy common sense et cetera
naturally complicates things. No doubt, one of the best uXu files ever.
434: "The Strangest Things Happened In Keflavik" by The GNN. Strange
things can happen when you watch television, wait for the bus, drink
beer, have sex, sit still, enter the sauna; and the strangest thing
happened to this writer at an airport far up in the north of Europe.
435: "George" by DisordeR. History is nothing more than an array
of conflicts between secret societies, someone once said (unfortunately,
I cannot remember who). I truly believe this. On the other hand, the
conspiracy says I am paranoid. You want to be paranoid too? Study this
text and... what was that noise?
436: "Conceptual Clarification: Right" by The GNN. The most popular
theory for wanna-be philosophers to put forward during parties and
coffee breaks is that the notion of 'right' has no meaning. Everything
is relative, blah blah blah. This file clears out some blurred concepts
on this confused matter.
437: "What Happened After" by James Michael Ramone. This is an excerpt
from a work in progress. A surreal tale (to say the least) - an
stimulating mixture of poetry and prose; starring Robespierre, among
others. The proof-readers of uXu nowadays chant 'Foutre la Salaud!' all
day long.
438: "Brief Note to Headquarters" by The GNN. The most popular
theory for wanna-be philosophers to put forward during parties and coffee
breaks is that man is an egoist, seeking her own pleasure above all
other virtues. Now, this is of course not correct. Man seeks knowledge.
Humanity seeks knowledge. What could it cost us? Find out now.
439: "Intruder Alert 1991-93" by Clown Manne. In our day and age,
it is an art to shock people. Many give their best shot (hey, we ought
to know, we have tried for almost seven years!) but most of them fail.
Anal Intruders, on the other hand, succeeded. Read all about it.
440: "Black and White" by DisordeR. To say that different individuals
'see' things differently is nothing new. True as it is, the statement
often turns into an empty cliche, as it really says nothing. Disorder
will take you to the other level of the game, he will explain to you
what it means to actually have your retina stimulated in an unusual
manner.
441: "Screenplay: The Terrorists" by The GNN. Actually, this file
is nothing more than a variation of a theme - a theme you could read
in uXu file no. 423. But if you do not like short stories and prefer
silverscreen editions instead, consider this version.
442: "First File" by First Kid. Thanks to our reproductive members,
the crew known as Underground eXperts United will live forever. Here
is the proof. We assure: you have never have never ever read a file
like this one before; and it is sure open to a wide variety of
interpretations.
443: "Forbidden File" by The GNN. Do not read this description. Do
not download this textfile. Do not read this textfile. Do not spread
this textfile. Do not sue us.
444: "Modern Metaphor" by Speed Devil Show. The masses constatly revise
their language so that the most obvious truths become false, the bluntest
lies the enlightenment of tomorrow. What exactly is the 'world wide web',
and what is it really not? Here you will find a pedagogical answer.
445: "Standing Before God" by Intoxicating. How far will you go, being
an atheist and all? What will it take to make you convert? Will you ever?
Could you really tell 'God' from a bum? Could God tell you from one?
While you're thinking, read this file.
446: "uXu Index #30" by Bravemoore. This index, like the ones before,
contains information about the uXu, how to get in touch with us and a brief
introduction to this release. You'll also find a list of the current uXu
writers and uXu dist sites. Check it out and find out what all the fuzz
is about.
447: "Nicky And The Porn Queen" by Rich Logsdon. Poor Nicky, not only
has his girlfriend made a career in the sex industry. No, she is a
nymphomaniac too, and temptations are everywhere. Life can be hard, but
let me assure you that some problems in life can more easily be solved
when you are unable to die.
448: "Help" by The Dwarf. Most times, you won't know they were here
until they're gone. They live among us and they are more common in
so-called wealthy countries. Some are spectacular, others try not to
draw so much attention to themselves. Who are these people? Read
this and you might know who we're talking about.
449: "Hacker Ethics" by drazQ. No matter which underground community
you encounter, you will soon discover that they have some form of
'ethics' embodied in their activity. Hackers are known for notoriously
upholding certain rules of conduct. But are these 'ethical rules' really
worth anything at all, considering the notion of 'ethics' from a broader
perspective?
450: "Sphincter Hatch" by Max West. This is an extract from a work in
progress. Welcome to the future, utopia. Here is everything possible;
here you can fulfil all of your wishes, dreams and desires. Santa Claus
on this matter is of course technology. But even the neatest garden has
a snake or two...
451: "The Mystery Of The Dead Fish" by The GNN. Modern science has
the answer to all questions. Okay, not maybe the answer, but certainly
the true method. Okay, not maybe the true method, but at least one that
works. Okay, maybe not one that always work, but... ah, heck, consider
this file for a funny episode from the Dark Ages.
452: "Dream Bursts" by Lamont Prell. Love hurts. Some people learn from
both their own and others mistakes and try not to repeat them in
sometimes pathetic attempts not to get hurt again. Which way have you
chosen? In either case, this will let you know you're not alone.
453: "So You Want To Be A Hacker?" by drazQ. Who would not like to be
a hacker? Thanks to the media, the movie industry and ignorant publishers
who desperately look for a good story, being a 'hacker' nowadays is not
merely being a criminal nerd, but a sexy motherfucker who do electronic
magic with strange machines. Our latest writer on this matter is fed up
with this seemingly never-ending stereotypical load of bullshit.
454: "Writhing Wisdom" by Janet Buck. Lovers of poetry are in for a
real treat in this thirty-first release of uXu! Here is yet another
collection of well-chosen words, sentences and concepts that certainly
will appeal to your aestethical sense. (If not, reconsider you ability
of appreciating true art.)
455: "After Keflavik" by The GNN. Do you remember that alcoholic
courier we told you about in uXu file no. 434? As you might remember,
he ended up reading a card over and over again at an airport on
Iceland. Strange guy, strange card, indeed. If you wish to find out
what happened next, read this file.
456: "Strangers" by Noel Ace. Two strangers at a bar - man, woman,
alcohol, alone. What are they searching for? What obligation do they
have to each other in a modern world of alienation and the fear of
getting too close to someone? This is a piece of flash fiction using 323
words to explore relationships.
457: "Death Is Not The End" by The GNN & Bravemoore. Scientific
progress, medical science in particular, always has one good and one
ugly side. Will we care more about laws and order than compassion and
empathy tomorrow? We don't know yet, but we'll get back to you
when we do. Meanwhile, ponder this file.
458: "Mudfishes" by Robert James Berry. Here are five beautiful
poems, submitted by our first writer from West Malaysia. If you
are feeling down, these calm and sweet texts from the far east will
get you back on track again.
459: "Erratic Sleep" by Marie Kazalia. Beware, the poetry of Marie
Kazalia is rough, tough and uncompromising. Still a highly rewarding
and powerful experience. This file will not disappoint you, no matter
if you are into poetry or not.
460: "Inability - Operators Manual" by The GNN. Now, here is the
manual you have looked for! In five easy steps, you will learn not
only how to do political work, but also how to perform it without
actually doing anything! Money back guarantee, thirty days trial
period, fits easily under your bed!
461: "Website Oblivion" by Max West. The title is actually the
name of an upcoming website created by Max himself. No one knows what
those two have in common as of yet, but I promise you this: if
the site has only half the weird bizarreness of this file, I'd mail
it's URL to
[email protected], hoping to score
some points for the afterlife. You've been warned.
462: "Teenage Killer Strikes Again" by The GNN. Lock your doors!
Hide your women! Bring out the guns! The teenage killer is back, and
this time he is really mad! A mystery! Horrible deeds taking place
behind locked doors! A damsel... uh, no... 'something' in distress...
well, not really 'distress' either for that sake.
463: "Five Site Reviews" by Speed Devil Show. We need no experts when
it comes to the Internet. We need idiots. Yes, we need complete morons.
We need amateurs. If you do not think so, keep dreaming for a better
tomorrow. The fools are here to stay. Here you will find proof.
464: "Epoque" by The GNN. It is often said that history repeats
itself. This is not true. People do mistakes over and over again,
but seldom, if ever, exactly the same mistakes. Perhaps we are
sometimes too concentrated to not make the same mistakes, so that
we open up possibilities of doing other mistakes.
465: "uXu Index #31" by Bravemoore. The point with this index that
comes with each release is to inform you of what's happening in
the world of the uXu.
466: "Chapel Mornings" by Hedge. At night, you dream. In the morning,
you open your eyes; and usually, you get out of bed. Day in and day out.
But all mornings are not like this. Some mornings, you lack the
sufficient motivation to do anything else but to stay in bed, ponder
and sort out some unfinished business.
467: "One Night In The Asshole Saloon" by Max West. Our own master of
bizarre and grotesque stories will set you shivering, gasping with
terror and gaping with wonder. Prepare yourself for the night of your
life. Welcome to the home of entertaining violence: the Asshole Saloon!
468: "Instant Witness" by Bravemoore. It is a fact: the question 'who
watches the watchmen?' is no longer a genuine question; technology of
our modern day and age makes us all watchmen. But it is also true that
technological 'progress' cannot be stopped. If you think you have seen
or predicted everything there is or will be, examine this file.
469: "Stay & Reality - Two Poems" by Pam Sanders. A pair of short poems
on the subject of personal relations and inner conflicts - straight
from the heart.
470: "Bio Hazard" by The GNN. I warn you! This is a true story! The
end of the world is near! Take precautions before it is too late! First,
read this file to find out what the hell the problem is. Secondly, do
not hey renegade phone company police blast alarm.
471: "The Voice Of Destiny" by Michael Berman. The producer of this text
has informed us that he is unsure of what kind of genre it belongs to.
His own suggestion is 'ironic mystique'. The uXu does not know either,
but we like the text anyhow. It is... hmm... very special, so to say.
472: "A Man And His Cat" by Hedge. The other evening Hedge was on his
way home from work, as usual using public transportation. During this
trip, he involved himself in a conversation with someone who never took
showers (but managed to stay clean), ate food from a plate on the floor
(without losing dignity) and attended lectures at the university
(without being able to open doors). Wonder what kind of person this is?
473: "Nataraja & Silence - Two Poems" by Ahila. Our second poet from
West Malaysia turned after investigations out to be the wife of the
first one (Robert James Berry, UXU-458). As before, we are very
impressed. If you are into poetry you will not be disappointed.
474: "Memento Mori" by Blackfire. Death is a lonely business, someone
once said (and this time I in fact remember who it was: Ray Bradbury).
But it is not. When we die, we will be in company of at least one. This
story is about what will happen if you dare to confront that person
with a unusual question...
475: "Insignificant Showdown In Central Europe" by The GNN. The world
is not run by weapons, energy or money. Indeed, there is a war out
there, a world war, but it is not about who has got the most bullets.
It is actually all about - love. Here is a tale from this war, told by
someone who deserves the Purple Heart.
476: "Random Thoughts Of Bob Slack" by Bob Slack. Existential problems
strikes us all now and then (yes, we assume that the readers of this
e-zine do think at least twice). Questions such as 'what is the meaning
of life' are hard to answer. Nevertheless Bob Slack thinks he actually
has a kind of answer. Judge for yourself.
477: "I Am Alex" by Rich Logsdon. (Rich is not Alex.) Alex is someone
you certainly would not like to encounter, especially not at midnight
during a full moon. Alex is a monster, your worst nightmare. And in this
file he tells all the grisly details - to his distressed psychiatrist.
478: "A Trailer Park Fairy Tale" by M. James Dinniman. Once upon a
time there was a male prostitute who lived in a trailer. Early one
morning he was woken up by someone knocking at his door. That was the
beginning of a day he would never forget. The moral of this absurd text
noir is that you never know how things will turn out in the end.
479: "Heading For A Dark Future" by Blackfire. George Orwell was only
partially right, claims the author of this file. 1984 did not become the
1984 Orwell imagined, because technology had at the time not come far
enough to create the evil, controlling system he described. But do not
relax... Around the corner lurks Big Brother of our time: Microsoft.
480: "Private Sphere" by Speed Devil Show. This is a somewhat brutal
and violent story, even though no one actually gets hurt, and even
though it describes a kind of paradise. If you are easily upset, pretty
please do not read this text. Thank you.
481: "A Happy Christmas Story" by Max West. What is a traditional xmas
holiday to you? We all know it is not the same for everyone, but did
you know that some people do not even know what they are celebrating?
On the other hand, they do not miss out on much...
482: "uXu Index #32" by The GNN. Yes, this is the index, as usual. And
it contains the usual stuff, as usual. The usual stuff is: list of new
and old writers, as usual, current files, as usual, long descriptions of
files, as usual, list of distribution sites, as usual, and info on how
to contact the uXu. As usual.
483: "Twist" by The GNN. Classic science-fiction is usually about one out
of three things: time-travelling, space encounters or teleporters. This is
not a classic piece of sci-fi (as it was written 1999), but it is about
time... hey, haven't we used this long description before? Oops! We have!
Right - what this text is about cannot be described, it must be read.
484: "Of Fear" by Nadene Wiggins. Some fear roses, some fear violets.
Some poems rhyme, but this does not. Make yourself ready to dive down
and explore fear as it is presented in this short poem. Recommended even
for the faint of heart.
485: "The Anatomy Of Hate (Revised)" by The GNN. People love, people
hate - and people change! This is the second version of a text that was
originally written seven years ago. If you want to know if the author has
changed, contrast the two texts. Surprised?
486: "Riding The 5:15" by BJ Moore. Taking a bus ride can change your
life, but it can also change the lives of other people. And you need not
even be aware of it. Believe it or not. This is a piece of poetry that
examines that possibility.
487: "A Dish Served Very Cold" by Kevin James Miller. Welcome to a tale
that is really, really, really, really tiny! (Less than sixty words, in
fact). It is about a dish served very cold. Much more cannot be said, or
this long description will be longer than the file...
488: "Eight Poems" by Robert James Berry. Our man from the Far East
is back again, tickling our emotional senses with aesthetic values and
professionalism. Mr. Berry knows how to write poetry. If you do not like
this - there is something seriously wrong with you.
489: "A Conspiracy Of One" by Kevin James Miller. Yep, here's another
really, really, really, tiny tale. This one is about a conspiracy of one,
as the title reveals. Kevin James Miller manages in fifty-five words to
capture what the writers of The X-Files needs sixty minutes and a load of
bullshit to miss.
490: "Mendoza's Jelly Problems" by Max West. Mendoza is on a mission, a
bizarre one indeed. To do what he gotta do (the 'ard 'n cool man he is),
he speeds down the highway in his car - which runs on hard drugs. Enough
said. "Max West... is an acute and stylish writer, in fact the only one
who deserves to be called 'writer' this century." (uXu)
491: "The Machinery of Desire" by The GNN. Would you give up your real
life in favor of a faked one? Oh, no? But what if your real life is a
total misery, and a faked life would be extremely cheerful? Say what? You
still wouldn't choose it? This text is about a guy who is given the
opportunity of entering a machine which will give him such a life. What
will he do?
492: "Smoke" by Mobys Dick. Life is often said to be a gift, but if one
got the chance of inspecting the present before one received it, I am not
sure one would accept it (Schopenhauer said this). Because life is filled
with so many complicated relations, and the be or not to be of love is
always a cause of anxiety, as this text is about - to a certain extent.
493: "States Of Confusion: Reply To Critics" by The GNN. Oh dear, GNN
must always to prove himself right, no matter which absurd theories he comes
up with. Do you honestly believe that doing drugs on a regular basis can be
equally good as delightful family life? Or that they could be equally bad,
in relation to "the good life." What the writer of this text believes is
as usual hopelessly obscure.
494: "The Lost Bar Fight" by Jay DeKalb. Disclaimer: none of the writers
of the uXu have ever lost a bar fight. So do please don't push us. Oh,
sorry, we almost forgot: this is a piece of poetry, worth learning by heart.
drip drip suspending
495: "Zula Betula" by Cindy. A poem a day keeps the doctor away! Medical
research at Bristol University indicates that poetry reading is as good a
cure for depression as pills. (No, we are not making this up.) Initiate
your new happy life with this file.
496: "True Robot" by The GNN. Beware! There is a new computer virus
around! And it is mean! Oh, don't worry! Your six gigabyte HD crammed
with porn is not in danger. Nevertheless, keep your hands away from two
specific keys on the keyboard...
497: "Nothing Comes From Nothing" by Absolute Zero. So you think you
can change the world. Ha! Think again. Stop saving those trees. Start
your graduation in the class of ignorance. Here is an introduction
for you beginners out there.
498: "uXu Index #33" by Bravemoore. The latest English and Swedish
files are mentioned here, as well as an update on where you can get
the complete works of the uXu. Read the index. Read the index. You
are now in my control.
499: "Last Flight To Keflavik" by The GNN. The courier is back again. This
last part of this triology(?) digs even deeper down into the mystery of the
voluntarily mute man at the airport of Keflavik/Iceland. Suspense, suspense.
500: "Just A Number" by The uXu Concept. Five hundred files later, it is
about time to spend some quality reading remembering all the years that has
passed and all the things we have gone through. From being distributed
strictly on BBSes to almost exclusively an alive magazine on the web. Join
us for some good looks back in time. Do not miss what some of the authors
has to say about the Underground eXperts United.
501: "Tired" by Mark Broomhall. You are sick of it all; the lies, the fake
smiles & your last paycheck just bounced. Instead of picking up the good old
38 and go settle the score at work, why not write a few lines about it.
Learn from Mark.
502: "Happiness" by Chieftain. This file is an uncompromising defence of
hedonistic utilitarianism, a classical ethical doctrine. According to
Chieftain, merely sensations of happiness bears the quality of intrinsic
value in this world. The only truly Right thing for us to do is to bring
out as much of this value as possible, wheter it be through acts, thoughts,
life-styles, and so on. Controversial... or true?
503: "Five The Younger" by Ivy Lou. More poetry, but this one is for you
out there who are tired of all the love, all the warmth and all the
understanding. There must be more to life than that? Yep, there is. To get
into that low down mood, read ahead.
504: "Micro$haft" by Stormavik. Is this huge company really that bad? Where
is the proof that its founder is the son of satan? I mean, there are
several more appropriate candidates than Willie to that title. You wanted
capitalism, here it is. Do not be such a cry baby just because one single
man now has the financial strength to buy almost any part of the world. The
same man is going to have the most angry children ever after he has given
away most of his fortune, so you should all pity him instead. More than you
are now.
505: "I Carry" by Murphdog. A short glimpse into the life of the character
in this poem reveals buckets of sadness. At the bottom of each bucket
you can however see the easy recognizable reflection of hope. What the
hope consists of, is up to the reader. You know how to become one of them.
506: "A Reason Why We Do Not Learn From History" by The GNN. The title
pretty much covers it all, so I will instead tell you that if you do have
some evidence of yourself having learned from history, send
[email protected]
a mail with the details.
507: "Toes, Man!" by Max West. When travelling around the world, you meet
a lot of strange people, but when you get back home, everything is back to
normal again. This is however not the case with Max West and his
adventures. He does not have to go far to be right in the middle of some
scenario straight out of a demented porno director's mind. Read and behold
the world as it is.
508: "The Change In The Computer Elite" by Stormavik. Apathy is spreading,
but nobody cares. When certain layers of the computer culture consists of
just theorists, who will keep them up to date? There must always be people
around that actually perform, instead of becoming the armchair activist
who did nothing.
509: "While The Rest Of The World Is Asleep" by The GNN. Give the poor
man some money, so he can buy some food for the day and perhaps find
somewhere to sleep tonight. Sometimes, no matter what good you do, it
turns out bad. Some cynics make this an art, though.
510: "To Stephen After the Storm" by Utahna Faith. Longing for someone
can be fun, exciting, expectant or just terrible. They go away for a trip
far, far away. The postcards, letters and phonecalls do not sothe your
feelings. They amplify the pain of not having a physical person to hold,
whisper to nor look in the eyes. Agony. Come home.
511: "Peter Haynes International Operations" by The GNN. Some people
you know by name, some by their face. Some people control practically
everything you do, everything that is around you and perhaps also what
you are. Mr Haynes is one of those people, read more about him, he
probably already knows about you.
512: "The Poetry Of Travis Ray Cole" by Travis Ray Cole. The biggest
collection of poems from a single writer so far. In this file, Travis
presents nineteen (19) of his poems. They range from anything to
everything. If you choose well, you can pick a poem for every occasion.
513: "Jabberwalk With Me" by Michael W Dean. Mr Dean sure put uXu's
"we publish anything" policy to the test with this weird piece of
text, which we had to put our cryptoanalysis team on to see if there
were any hidden messages. Making sense is for amateurs... the author
himself explains: "... this was done by running my writing thru bad
voice recognition software..."
514: "Diary Entry 8[15]99" by DisordeR. Welcome to a day in the life
of a girl. Get to know her better, as well as Mr Shy, the jock and
what they did to make life a little lighter that very day... but
seriously, what does it take to make you change your idea of who/what
a certain person are?
515: "Are You A Closet Intellectual?" by Gene-Michael Higney. It has
been a while since the last quiz, but here is one for you all. No
prizes to be won this time, not something we will mail you anyway.
What the heck am I jabbering about? Find the answer yourself,
read file UXU-1000000000 (presented in binary mode where available).
516: "uXu Index #34" by Bravemoore. It has been a handful of months
since the previous index, but we are back with another release. Find
out e-mail addresses to the uXu staff, distribution sites, homepage
URLs and much much more. The index is your introduction to each
release, and this is how it is described.
517: "Killers" by The GNN. They are all around us. Most of them
(we sincerely hope) are nice and dedicated to their work. But some
of them are homicidal maniacs. Perhaps you will be the next victim.
Who are they?
518: "We The People & Mythical Advice" by Roz. Here Roz gives us
two poems to interpret, contemplate, analyze, criticize and then
finally comment on. Some of us just enjoy them as they are. Step
on in to Roz's poetry corner.
519: "In The Western World" by Laurence Overmire. Mr Overmire
present five poems from his collection. Not your everyday writer,
displaying both funny and disturbing texts, all typed with
the energy you expect from a dedicated poet.
520: "Aesthetics" by The GNN. All living people have one thing
in common; their bodies. No body - no life. Is this finally going
to change with the help of technology? On the other hand, what
would be able to stop this from becoming commonplace? Not the ones
you would expect...
521: "Ionization" by Eric Chaet. This is a story about a man who
hitchhikes around USA. His humble mission is to change not only
America but the whole world for the better forever. Based upon
true events - in a sense still going on. Fascinating reading.
522: "The Investigator's Problem" by Bravemoore. Your genetic
code is unique and you cannot escape it. So why bother use gloves,
wipe the gun, wash the knife - when a single damn eyelash found at
the crime scene will be all the police needs to catch you? Until
now, that is. Now you can get away with murder. The uniqueness of
DNA is now your partner in violence...
523: "The Perfect Mechanical Clone" by The GNN. Would it not be
nice to own a robot that is a perfect copy of you? Imagine! It
could go to work (instead of you), fight with your spouse (instead
of you), raise your children (instead of you). In short: do just
about everyting you do not want to do! But then... who are 'you'?
524: "Regarding My 'Signs'" by Eric Chaet. Would You like to take
part in a global artistic project? It will not cost you anything
but time (and perhaps a photo and a letter, if you want to). Read
this text, then contact Eric Chaet. Staff members of the uXu have
already done so. (And we had lots of fun in Sweden and Finland.)
525: "End Of Noise" by Bravemoore. You know how it is. You try
to get around. Live your life. But there are just too many people,
too many problems, too much to do, so little time, distress distress,
and all of this painfully framed in noise noise noise, I just can't
take it any more! KILL KILL KILL
526: "Worlds" by The GNN. Virtual Reality. Actual Reality. Who can
really say which is which? If you are able to simulate actual reality,
does that mean we could all be living in a computer with a poor,
crash prone operating system just waiting to die and when it does,
take every living being with it... Where was I?
527: "Wild Orchid Moments" by Duane Locke. Dr Locke serves us his
short/quick and sometimes traumatic poetry without mercy. If your
friends likes when you read them your own poetry, try these ones
on for size. Surprising icebreaker when the "quiet moment" arrives
when visiting your mother in law.
528: "Anatomy Of The Cynic" by The GNN. Some people reveal and
analyze important and complex problems in our world with sound
arguments. Others just see their own nose and whine. Some people
are philosophers. Others are merely plain cynics. Cynics believe
they make the world a better place, but the truth is that they
just make it worse. Learn their anatomy; avoid them.
529: "BBspam v0.1" by The uXu. We strongly recommend you to put
the software available through this file into use before it is too
late. Perhaps you are not already examined, monitored, controlled
and valued by certain forces. Perhaps you do not care. But oh! You
soon will! Believe us. Unless you do something. Quickly.
530: "uXu Index #35" by Bravemoore. In the last index this year,
we give you what you expect to find here, such as: list of the
latest uXu files, how to contact the uXu crew, the URL to our
website and much, much more. Enjoy!
531: "Fatal Accident Liability Insurance Fraud" by Russell Hallberg Jr.
There are lots of conspiracies around, if we are to believe the paranoid
people. Contrary to the usual fairy tales expressed by these clinical
nuts, this text does not stem from the author's vivid imagination, but is
based upon facts. You will not like these facts. Are you American? Are you
married? Beware...
532: "The Coup" by Eric Chaet. Let Eric Chaet take you to another time and
place: America back in the sixties. He will tell you about himself and his
life. You will not be disappointed. Sneak preview: "I was already 18 when
my first-ever date with a girl was cancelled because of the assassination
of the president..."
533: "Old School Collection" by DIzzIE. In this big collection of
DIzzIE's files, we dive deep into the mind of almost half the textfile
writers back in the mid-80's to the beginning of the 90's. We got
scams, harmful stunts and much more.
534: "Viv's House" by Eric Chaet. Starting out in an asylum but ending
somewhere else, this story is about hopes and dreams in a complex and
confusing world which relentlessly refuses to adjust itself to the desires
of its inhabitants. An anatomy of love - and madness.
535: "The Day Of The Speed Devil" by The GNN. There are ways to turn the
tables against those bores who do not understand that reality is just a
crutch for people who cannot cope with drugs. All you need is a shoe box,
a telephone, and an ability to drop a load. You have no idea whatsoever
what I am talking about, right? Read this true story and find out.
536: "Child Molester And More Poetry" by Kenneth Pobo. Kenneth brings
you his artistic view of the world, with the children in focus. How much
abuse can a child take? By abusing our kids, do we create next-generation
abusers? Are we creating monsters?
537: "The Shunned Consultant" by Eric Chaet. (I fully believe that the
lives of most people would make good stories - if they were told by those
who actually know how tell a story. The author of this text can indeed tell
a story.) Based upon events in his own life, Eric Chaet explores the tension
between the things you want to do, and the things you just have to do, to
be able to do the things you want to do. Two words: hard labour.
538: "Poetry Collection" by DIzzIE. Far from his last Old School-text,
this is not your average day Old School poetry. Or is it? I am not sure,
but watch out for the spicy vocabulary of our new writer. Not for the
easily offended, nor the beginner.
539: "Perpetual Masquerade" by The GNN. Individuality and personality are
not things that are automatically given to us by nature. We are just given
some fundamental conditions, consciousness and free will, the rest is up to
ourselves. If you are too eager to become Someone, you might end up being
No One, as the unfortunate teller of this text.
540: "Dostoyevsky And The Brothers Karamazov" by Eric Chaet. Dostoyevsky
was a man of great intellect whose fate it was to live, primarily, among
non-intellectuals, and to see through the errors and pretensions of the
prominent intellectuals (and wannabe intellectuals) of his time. Consider
this text for a brief introduction to one of the greatest writers and books
of all times.
541: "Transparent Ribbon Campaign" by The GNN. Alleged campaigns for or
against something are not uncommon, so it is unlikely that this title will
raise any eyebrows. But this campaign is very different, we assure you! It
is the only one you will ever need to get involved in, now and forever.
542: "Lost And Found Years" by Speed Devil Show. You will die. You will
die. You will die. You will die. You will die. You will die. You will die.
You will die. Sure, you do not deny that, but do you really understand what
that fact implies?
543: "uXu Index #36" by Bravemoore/GNN. We are in ASCII here, we are in
ASCII on the web. It is all just a bunch of characters combined into
fascinating strings. Someone said the pen is mightier than the sword, but
I do not agree. Without a mind behind the hand which holds the pen, you got
nothing at all. Explore the minds of the writers, read this release or
sleepless nights will be your damnation. In other words, enjoy!
544: "Godfather Dad" by Russel Hallberg Jr. This is a hazardous text. We do
not know if it is facts or fiction. But we have reasons to believe that the
previous file of this author (UXU-531) have had unexpected fatal effects. We
no longer know if Hallberg is our friend or foe. All we can advice you to do
is to keep away from highways and large trucks if you want to stay alive.
545: "Conveyor" by Eric Chaet. This is a tale about a man working as a
laborer in a warehouse in the Upper Midwest of the USA, with a lot on his
mind (to say the least), a partner in northern Mexico - and a secret agenda!
546: "Yearning For A Fish And Gasoline" by Sevrin. Poetry can be used to
get your point across. Sevrin takes a look around him and tell you through
this instrument what he is seeing. What is it? Read it! Comprende?
547: "Song Of A Bird Perched On A Rusty Gear" by Eric Chaet. So you have
not been exactly been awarded the Nobel Prize for your efforts, and you are
at the very end of your resources. A contractor from whom you hitch a ride
gives you a less than ideal job as part of a crew re-organizing the storage
of tools in a factory, seventy-two hours a week. Are you going to live?
548: "We Did Not Whimsy" by Mark Phillips. Death and dispair with a
Christian twist. If you like your poetry with a ancient feel to it, but
still something new to feast your eyes upon - this is what you have been
looking for.
549: "People I Met Hitchhiking From Minnesota To Nevada" by Eric Chaet. A
true story about a light-hearted hitchhiker of a few thousand miles across
the USA. Eric Chaet shares his experiences of an angry police man, western
Americans and a French visitor. But what exactly is the ultimate aim of this
long ride? Read and find out.
550: "Only An Angel" by Sevrin. "... the room spins, and my blood pumps out
across the tiles in a rhythmic spurt. I smile as the crimson crescendo of my
life petters to a close. All is black, and I see a light. I know what this
is! The afterlife!" (Ha! Get ready for a surprise!)
551: "Looking Back in Terror" by Simon Moleke-Njie. Ending up in jail for
merely six weeks might not sound all that terrifying to us spoiled people in
the western world. But you will soon understand why the author of this text
have all reasons for looking back in terror when he recalls what happened
during six weeks after he had been apprehended at the airport in Ghana,
Africa. This is indeed a very important text, and the uXu feels honored to
have been selected for publishing it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
552: "Cripple Quota" by Bravemoore. Defending the sanctity of human life is
intellectually easy: you just have to assume that human life has untouchable
value, period. Politically however, such a standpoint will inevitable have
practical consequences. This text explores a possible future in which
everyone must share responsible for all human life. Do you find it utopian?
553: "Collected What Nots" by Laura Aurora. Laura is back, this time she is
doing her poetry in English. She gives you five new pieces, just for you and
absolutely nobody else. So feel privileged when you lean back and enjoy some
healthy emotional brain tickling.
554: "Manouvers Far From The Front" by Eric Chaet. Once again, powerful and
important people are blowing up a lot of people far away. What if you have
managed not to be drafted to participate in such madness, but still it makes
you sad and approximately powerless? Why not visit a like-minded friend to
try to amuse your spirits?
555: "Old School Collection II" by DIzzIE. The first collection of good old
school texts from this writer (UXU-533), turned out to be quite popular.
That fact made the uXu crew jump to the conclusion that we must immediately
put out yet another collection, to satisfy those of our readers that are
crazed sociopaths whom only want to read about mischief, terror and evil
madness. HERE YOU GO! TAKE SHELTER!
556: "Central Ideas In Books By Noam Chomsky & Jerry Mander" by Eric Chaet.
This must be one of the briefest introductions to books by two great thinkers
of the anti-establishment, Noam Chomsky and Jerry Mander. Chomsky and Mander
distrust what those who govern and what those who sell the glories of new
technologies say, and the results of what they do. Short but to-the-point.
557: "Back In New York" by Shane Jones. Four fresh and raw pieces of poetry
for you. Shane will take you through New York, Canada, Africa. Prepare to
walk through blood and strange bars. There are some black mosquitos here
to visit you, by the way.
558: "uXu Index #37" by Bravemoore/GNN. Come here folks, we got it all!
Big files, small files, funny files, depressing files. To find out which
file is what, feel free to thoroughly examine each one of the included
text items and decide for yourself.
559: "Don't Drink the Water" by Jason Gurley. If you are that kind of
person who believe in all conspiracies, you certainly should not read
this text. Because then your paranoia will reach tremendous heights.
Why should we not drink the water? Read and find out. (Actually, we are
not certain if this is mere fiction. To be on the safe side, the uXu
crew only drinks Perrier nowadays.)
560: "Freedom" by Eric Chaet. Such a big word, with so many different
meanings - most of them somewhat removed from actual fact. In this case,
the story of a hitchhiker who has achieved his immediate objective, but
has not yet returned to where he can rest. This is a beautiful story of
rain and lightning, of an escaped convict, of drivers who want to talk
about Jesus, and more.
561: "False Confessions from a Fallen Angel" by Laura Aurora. We confess
that the poems which move us most are those that are very personal. The
poems of Laura Aurora are very personal, so they move us a lot. We are
certain that they will move you too, if you pay attention.
562: "How To Maintain Happiness And Relieve Stress" by DIzzIE. Believe
it or not! Dizzie has proven himself able to write textfiles that are
NOT pragmatic manuals on violent anarchistic mayhem! In this file he
explains some basic techniques for staying happy and relieving stress.
Read a good book, have a cup of tea, trash a house... oh dear... Dizzie
will always be Dizzie.
563: "A Saga Of The African Child" by Simon Moleke-Njie. Few would
deny that child labour is one of the worst crimes against humanity.
Few in the western world have however actually seen it with their own
eyes. But Simon Moleke-Njie have seen it all. This is his sad saga of
the exploited children in contemporary Africa.
564: "Review of 'Natural Capitalism'" by Eric Chaet. Ecology is an
acute issue. Unfortunately, most people just speak about the importance
of saving nature without actually doing so. Action indeed talks louder
than words, but how take action if one does not know what to do? Eric
Chaet here reviews a book that aims to arm the reader with knowledge
that can be deduced into action on this matter.
565: "Hold On" by William Hockney. The content of this file is perhaps
best described by help of a quote: "Woody Allen was right when someone
asked if he thought sex was dirty and he said 'if you do it right'. Sex
is not some sort of pristine, reverent ritual. You want reverent and
pristine, go to church." (Cynthia Heimel, "Sex Tips for Girls", 1983.)
566: "The Day All Words Lost Their Meaning" by The GNN. The complete
works of this highly productive author for the uXu magazine exceeds two
megabytes in more than 250 files. But during the past six months he has
not been able to write a single text (except for this one). Why is that
so? The GNN himself do not think he knows the answer; but actually, he
does...
567: "DIzzIE Poetry" by DIzzIE. This is a collection of intensely raw and
furious poetry. Dizzie dives deep into the darkest realms of his mind and
explores those horrible thoughts that occasionally strike all of us. We
strongly advice sensitive readers to stay away from this file.
568: "At A Trailer In The Woods" by Eric Chaet. You set out to do what
everyone else considers impossible. Would it not be nice if you did not
have to confront them again until it was proven that you were right and
they were wrong? Unfortunately, it does not work that way, as we all
know. How to deal with it? That is the main question of this fine and
personal piece of fiction by Eric Chaet.
569: "Stashu Kapinski In A Family Way" by Joseph Lisowski. Take off your
Armani suit if you really want to dig your teeth into Lisowski's poetry.
Observing life around him, life's questions are answered right before
his very eyes. Noticing the connection to the condition called daily life,
or bluntly: reality.
570: "From Warsaw To Room 134 At Debak" by Simon Moleke-Njie. The
author is a political refugee from Ghana, currently living in Poland
where has been granted permission to stay. This is his autobiographical
journal, in which he shares his experiences from the especial "refugee
world". This is truly a very important textfile in this day and age.
571: "USA Election 2000" by Eric Chaet. In order to have a real chance
of getting a majority of votes in the election for president of the USA,
it is necessary to be able to speak to large numbers of potential voters,
and to say to them what they would like to hear. So it is highly unlikely
that these ideas will be presented by someone, soon, who will then become
the president of the USA, and be in a position to at least get them'
seriously debated. But this will do for a start.
572: "Hesiod And The Muse" by Doug Tanoury. Here Doug carefully lay it
all out to you. About art that is. A piece of art consists not only
of what meets the eye. There is a meaning, a point in it being created.
Finding that part out is the artist's contribution to the movement
the uXu's part of: Making people think.
573: "Forest Thump" by DIzzIE. If you did not appreciate the hyped movie
with almost the same title, you will find this piece at least amusing,
which the original certainly was not. This version is not even depending
on actors pretending to be retarded.
574: "Ratt-Tat-Tatt" by Vasilis Afxentiou. This text constitutes
undoubtedly the most aggressive attack on the American Way we have
ever read. If you thought that the NATO assault on Yugoslavia was
a 'humanitarian war', prepare yourself for a radically different
account on the matter. Utterly controversial, a badly needed
provocative text.
575: "Living In Hawaii" by Steven Zeigler. Would we not all want to
live on Hawaii, the mysterious paradise island? The sun, the long
beaches, the long drinks, the long days, Magnum P.I. Could anyone not
love such a lovely place? Well, yes. The place is a shit hole, as the
author of this text is well aware of. If you plan to go there, remember
to keep your mouth shut...
576: "uXu Index #38" by The GNN. Four long months have passed by, and
in time for the uXu and our writers' to give you a release crammed with
files from a bunch of new writers, along with some other you already
know, but now it is time for me to put an end to this very very long
sentence with the necessary period.
577: "United States Reserve Insurance Fraud" by Ralph Singleton Jr. We do
not know who has written this text, as it was submitted to uXu anonymously.
Even worse, we do not know if the conspiracy it describes is a fact or
fiction. We take comfort merely in the hope that this intrigue is not for
real; or, if it is, it has nothing corresponding to it in Sweden, at least
not yet. Scary stuff, prepare for paranoia.
578: "Green Leaves & Yellow Flowers" by Eric Chaet. This is the lyrics
of a song Chaet wrote alongside an American highway a quarter of a decade
ago. If you fancy it, feel free to make up your own music and record it
all you like. But please credit the author, and let him know about it...
579: "Eden" by Freon. The short time we have on earth is not easy to
administer. We want to know what to do, how to understand what has been,
what is, and what will be; but also how to pass on our insights to our
children. But if "the first word i speak will destroy my understanding",
what should we do? Well, we must find other paths to walk, as expressed
in this fine piece of poetry.
580: "Charlie's Exile Blues" by Simon Moleke-Njie. When younger, Simon and
Charlie knew each other very well. But circumstances separated them. Almost
a decade later they came across each other again, in another part of the
world. They were now adults, and had both experienced a lot. This is a text
about that encounter, but also how it is to be a refugee in Europe.
581: "Little Johny" by DIzzIE. This is a lovely collection of short
rhymes, beautifully expressed in a charming poetic language. Ha ha. Just
kidding. These rhymes are extremely violent, vulgar and tasteless; they
constitute yet another proof of Dizzie's clinical insanity. (We thank
the author for keeping uXu away from being too serious.)
582: "Review of 'One World, Ready or Not'" by Eric Chaet. William Greider
is the best living journalist in English, as far as Chaet knows. He is
current, understands history, makes it his business to comprehend as many
factors as possible, including financial. Unlike most of his journalistic
colleagues in English, he has at the same time a comprehensive grasp of
the global situation and a conscience.
583: "Listen!" by Freon. The sword of Damocles dangle over our heads. It
will drop any second, unless we take action. So why do we not? Because we
have also put ourselves in a strait-jacket of paradoxical Necessity; what
we need to live are the same things that will end our lives, sooner or
later. Can we free ourselves and cut down the sword? Maybe if we actually
listen. Listen!
584: "Gothenburg City 2001" by Bravemoore/The GNN/Hedge. Now and then,
the Swedish division of the uXu crew actually meet outside the digital
world. This file is the outcome of such a gathering. At first glance, it
might look like nothing special; but one part of it actually proves the
rejected hypothesis that it is possible to write a textfile when you are
dead drunk and sound asleep on the floor.
585: "The Sea" by Freon. Oh, what a lovely text this is. Freon has by
means of a sublime short story managed to capture the complicated issues
of loneliness and love. Love is like a disease, it takes a certain state
of mind for it to take. But if you are a loner, this state of mind might
never come around, no matter how much you crave to love and be loved.
586: "Tuchas Offen Tisch" by Christopher Mulrooney. Poetry is the hardest
art of text to master. Anyone can type, many can write prose, but only a
few are able to combine a few selected words so perfect that it turns into
an overwhelming totality. The uXu debutant Mulrooney is one of these few
good poets, here giving you six of his works.
587: "Two Haikus and One Poem" by R.K. Singh. We are happy to welcome
our first writer from India, Doctor Singh from the Indian School of Mines
in Dhanbad. As the very title reveals, this text contains two haikus and
one poem. We are certain none of them will disappoint you.
588: "The Midnight Dance At Noon" by Simon Moleke-Njie. Love is powerful,
but so is religion and tradition. And when the respective interests of such
super-powers collide, anything could happen - and it is not always for the
best. This is a short story (with a parapsychological introduction) about
strong but impossible love, and the quest for breaking free without losing
one's identity, situated in contemporary Africa. Highly recommended.
589: "Review of 'The Crisis of Global Capitalism'" by Eric Chaet. Chaet
here reviews a brilliant book written by one of the world's most powerful
financiers. The book suggests that it might be wise not to get too used to
current economic conditions, developing the concept of 'reflexivity', and
talking about the 'open society' and more than one threat to it.
590: "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" by DIzzIE. Oh dear. Dizzie has
turned this classic piece of poetry dealing with the joys of Christmas
into a hellish nightmare. You should not read this text if you are of
the sensitive type. When we think about it, no one should actually read
this text. Stay away from it if you wish to remain sane.
591: "The Spirit of Wigilia" by Simon Moleke-Njie. Christmas is the time
for being with your nearest and dearest. But if you are far away from home
and cannot return, the season can indeed be quite lonely. Simon, "the fourth
unwise pilgrim", here tells the story about how he was invited and "went
with nothing" to a Christmas party in Warzaw, learned about the spirit of
Wigilia, and "returned with a pen and paper to write this for you".
592: "I'm Trying" by Eric Chaet. This poem is in a form that some would
refuse to call a poem. Chaet tries to synthesize apparent opposites, in
order to get a grip, and get on with his business of changing the world
forever for better. Overly pretentious? Not at all. Admirable, rather.
593: "uXu Index #39" by Bravemoore. Yet another long period of time has
passed. Five months of people asking when the next release is due...
We have been spending hours, braincells and money on our upcoming
celebration. The release is finished now however, you are reading it this
very moment. Nothing more to read here, get on with reading the new files!
