Sorry for taking so long to get this issue out. Life has been
pretty crazy around here. Bob Gaj has offered to copy the
Morrissey KROQ concert. If you would like a copy of the
concert, please inquire with him. His address is:
[email protected]. I haven't had time to copy
the tape yet so please be patient. I'm trying to find some stuff
to put on the remaining 15 minutes of the tape. Anyway, I should
have to tape to Bob after Thanksgiving.

The show was great! It lasted about 80 minutes. He played around 14
songs including one called "We Hate It When Our Friends Are Success-
ful" which I hadn't heard before. The rest of the songs were the ones
from the first half of his tour. The crowd was a little tame, but
a ton of flowers were thrown onto the stage. Many people also got on
stage and were welcomed wholeheartedly by Morrissey. He gave a great
performance-the singing was enthusiastic. After the show, we saw the
car Morrissey was leaving in being chased by about 4 people. It stop-
ped about 10 yards away from us at a stoplight, but just as we moved
toward it the light changed and it sped off (it was a Cadillac). I
think only one person got an autograph. I really wished that I would
have won the chance to meet him backstage-KJ104 was giving away that
plus lots of tickets-probably why my tickets sucked (22nd row). If
anyone has bought or seen that videotape from Dallas, please comment
on it. bye.

Subject: My Home Life
News from REM land. Morrissey is good friends with Michael Stipe and was in
Athens again just days before the Seattle show I'm told. The rumore in Athens
is that he has bought a house here and plans to spend some time in Athens. Its
a weird town, so he might feel right at home.
Also, just got two Smiths bootlegs straight from their vinyl medium. Both are
from their '86 Queen is Dead tour, both OK but not great sound quality, they
are called "So This Is America" and "...The Bad Boy From A Good Family." Both
are available for copy requests, need 90 minutes of tape each. Have an untitled
1983 bootleg with "Jeane" and "Wonderful Woman", as well as the studio versions
of both, and seven tracks from the '88 Wolverhampton Morrissey concert, plus
a few more random live and sound check songs including Marr/Gannon whaling on
Hendrix's "Purple Haze". Pretty weird. Am willing to trade older stuff for
Morrissey bootlegs, "Killjoy" (the Madison Square Garden Show on CD) is going
to be available in two or three weeks, just in time for a Christmas present.

Subject: Tour dates
I just heard that the Boston and William&Mary shows were cancelled. Is it true?
Also, are any other dates going to be axed, I've got great seats for the New
Orleans show and really don't want to miss it.
The rumor that Morrissey is buying a house in Athens, GA is still flying out
of that town, he has been visiting Michael Stipe of REM again apparently.

Subject: Morrissey cancels tour! With interview!
Morrissey cancelled his Nov. 19th concert at William and Mary Hall
because he was "too tired." My local radio station got an person to person
interview with Moz. Here it is (no joke, really):
Carol Taylor: This is Carol Talyor for Defenistration 895 and right now on the
phone I have Morrissey. Morrissey Hello.
Morrissey: Hello.
C: Hello Morrissey.
M: Hello. How are you?
C: I'm fine and you are calling us from where?
M: I'm calling from London.
C: Ok. I have a press release here from Celler Door that says that you
cancelled your tour due to exhustion.
M: Cancelled my tour to, to exhustion.
C: Due to exhustion.
M: Yes, yes, yes. Your on [sic], I'm I'm very tired.
C: I think that's a crock of... Boulder-dash!
C: You're not tired at all. I don't think you're exhusted. I think the reason
why you've cancelled your tour is because, I've heard the rumors, I think
you're just too damn happy to tour.
M: Too, too happy!?
C: Too damn happy to tour.
M: Well, well Carol you've found me out.
C: I though so.
M: I am too happy to tour. You can't tour if you're not sad you see. And I'm
rather filled with glee. I wake up in the morning I'm hearing birds chirping.
I've got friends now. I do have a stich to wear, several stiches in fact. And
you just can't tour if you're not sad.
C: You know what? I just feel like I'm just going to vomit! I want to know
why you are so happy.
M: Oh, why I'm happy. Well Carol, everyday is not like Sunday. Monday, for
example is for cupcakes I've discovered. Tuesday for scenic walks in the park
with Michael. Wednesday is the day I do needlepoint for me Mum. And Carol
have you ever tried baking?
C: Oh please, please, please, just stop! Look, look, look, ok, so you're too
happy to tour. What does that mean for you're recording career? You're going
to be too happy to make records!
M: Well, first of all Carol, and you know this. I have enough singles and live
recordings of everything I've done, both solo and with the Smiths that could
be rerecorded in various different orders to keep the record business stocked
for the next fifteen years. But the honesty is, I've thought meat was murder.
Actually, touring is murder. Unrepressed admiration can really drag one down
you know.
C: Yeah, I'm like suffering from loads of that right now myself. Look, I don't
really want to bother you anymore since you are so damn happy I can't stand to
speak with you.
M: Thank you.
C: I will have no one to make fun of anymore!
M: Thank you.
C: I'm now very sad. I'll take over for you. I am the one who is depressed.
In fact what I'd like to do right now is if you don't mind is play one of
you're songs back in the good old days when you were super depressed. In fact
I think we're going to play, Heaven knows I'm, I'm... Uhh...
M: Heaven knows I was miserable then...
C: Morrissey on Defenistration 895.
M: Thank you, goodbye!
C: Aww, go to hell.
Heaven knows I'm miserable now begins...

Morrissey has cancelled his last 11 shows of his tour due to "exhaustion."
This has come 10 days after Morrissey invited people at the UCLA show to
get up out of their seats and come to the stage, and the 30 or so
people got smashed because of it. Tickets for that show sold out in less
than 11 minutes and made it the fastest selling show in BASS history.
The one in L.A. before, sold out in less than 17 minutes. Anyway,
Morrissey does NOT plan to reschedule any of his last dates at this time
and somehow, I am not surprised. :)
