Use this poem to identify and spot L names. elicit new L names, and then
brainstorm other places to live that begin with a L from your class.

Interview 6 people and ask them this question: Did you ever swim in a lake?
Show your results.
Describe a leopard and then illustrate the leopard. Fill in the blanks: If
I were a leopard I would eat ____________, _______________, and
_______________.
Make a class laughing book with what makes you laugh. Have a Laugh In with
funny stories, jokes, funny laughs, etc.
Take an imaginary ride on a llama and describe what you see and then
illustrate your story.

Dance the Lindy an old fashioned jitterbug.
Use Lucky Charms cereal as counters or for simple math problems:
estimating, counting, adding, sorting, patterns, subtracting, or bingo
counters.
Estimate how far you can leap and then measure with a piece of yarn try
again a month later with a different color yarn and compare the 2 leaps.
Try a leap a month and see if your leap improves.
Licorice Math could incorporate counting, graphing, sorting, measuring,
predicting, and comparing.

Brainstorm what is love and ask children what love feels like?
Make flavored lemonade and take the lemonade taste test by blindfolding

Create class L charts and place child's name at the end of his/her sentence:
Make a list of things you would find in a locker.
Graph lunch boxes and lunch bags by colors, shapes, and graphics
Take the lemon or lime test close your eyes or get blindfolded can you taste
the difference?
Find objects that are lilac in color.
Make a collage using lace for an art project.
Finish this sentence: I like to be last in line because

Smell lifesavers and see if you can guess the flavor. Make a lifesaver
