naked in xxx rated pictures/scenes/activities, or fully clothed in
formal suits and gowns;  and why I believe that the bottom line of
decency and modesty  for women involves at least the covering of
their loins, i.e. the area of their external genitalia (vulva), their anus,
and their rump "crack" (aka gluteous maximus);  why I believe that
pornography is not pictures/images/likenesses of Third World women
and beach women who are wearing only a loin cloth (covering their
external genitalia [vulva], anus and rump "crack"); and why I believe
that Biblical concubines, common law wives and secondary wives are
not mistresses/whores/harlots/ prostitutes.

WHAT IS RIGHT AND GOOD BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN?

Proverbs 5:18  Let your  fountain* be blessed: and rejoice with the wife
of your youth.  19  [She should be as] the loving hind and pleasant roe;
Her breasts  [should] satisfy you at all times; and [you should] be

[footnotes * Black?  How black is black?  The bigots try to make this
into tanned or darkly tanned. For white folks in any shade, a tan is
brown, or dark brown.  How black is this black?  How black was she?
The word rendered �black� is the same word in Song 5:11 used to
describe the color of a raven.  My collegiate dictionary says that
ravens have a �lustrous black plumage�.         Not �brown�, not �dark
brown�, but LUSTROUS BLACK  as old Brer Crow and old
Eddie Poe�s raven that raps �nevah mo bro�.  No way around it, this
comely maiden was black, not blue black, but black as a raven.  Since
the world cultures, including China, SE Asia, India, Africa and Latin
America value lighter skin over darker skin, this black beauty is almost
as good a representative of �the Church�, or Israel, as is the passage
in Ezekiel 16:1-10, where the Church and Israel are shown to be
undesireable before God enters their lives, and even after God enters
their lives, they are still looked down upon and perhaps even despised
by the majority of the world..]

*Part Two: WHAT ACTS/DEEDS/THOUGHTS ARE WRONG
BETWEEN A WOMAN AND A MAN?

���1. A wife should take hold of no other male's genitalia except
for those of her own husband. MKJV DEUT. 25:11 When men
strive together with one another, and the wife of the one draws
near to deliver her husband out of the hand of him who strikes
him, and puts forth her hand and takes him by the secret parts,
12 then you shall cut off her hand. Your eye shall not pity.

The scriptures above are clear that the only person who should
touch/work/caress/use the breasts, vulva, vagina, anus and rump of a
female isher own male, her own husband, her only partner for sexual
delight.The scriptures above are also clear that a wife should not
touch/work/caress/use the genitals of any other male besides her own
male, her own husband, her only partner for sexual delight (except for
her male infants or patients who are unable to clean etcl their own
genitalia/anus).But what do the scriptures say about an unmarried
female touching/working/caressing/using the genitalia of her
friend/lover, which lover is very careful not to touch/work/
caress/use her breasts, vulva, vagina, anus and rump since she is not
yet his own wife/concubine?

�       Ex 22:16 And if a man  entice  a maid  that is not betrothed , and

The usage of 7901 in Lev. 20:13 shows that this intimacy is not limited
to lying down with your lover, since many of the male to male sexual
positions of homosexuality (oral sex, anal sex, genital petting) are
done in other positions than those associated with lying down.  Only
the most blind and foolish would use these passages to say that only
the heterosexual intimacy without marriage and homosexual activity
that are done in a prone (lying down) position are sin.  Obviously this
concept of "[sexually/sensually] lie  down with her7901]" is one of all
genital relations whether sitting, standing, kneeling,  or leaning.  For
sure it means any kind of penetration of another's body (breast in
mouth, genital in genital, genital in mouth, genital in anus) in any
position.   Consider the following:

Gen. 38:15 When Judah saw her, he thought her [to be] an harlot,
because she had covered her face. 16 And he turned to her by the
wayside, and said, "Here no, I ask you, let me come in you (enter you,
go in you 0935)" (for he knew not that she [was] his daughter in law).
And she said, "What will you give me, so that you may come in me
(enter me, go in me 0935)?" 17 And he said, "I will send [thee] a kid
from the flock." And she said, "Will you give [me] a pledge, until you
send [it]?"  18 And he said, "What pledge shall I give thee?" And she
said, "Your signet, and your bracelets, and your staff that [is] in your

There is no scripture that I am aware of that
would extend this passage to include a female's sensual/sexual acts
on/with the penis of her friend/lover that don't involve her vulva
and/or breasts.  However, the fact that Lev. 15:18, 24 are linked with
Ex. 22:16 in the act of sexual relations with a woman
"[sexually/sensually] lie  down with her7901]", it would seem logical
that SINCE it is not a sin for man to sexually/sensually lie down with
his own woman  with seed/semen of copulation/effusion/ejaculation,
AND SINCE it is a sin for a man to sexually/sensually lie down with a
woman who does not become his own woman, THEN IT PROBABLY
IS WRONG/SIN for a man to sexually/sensually lie down  with
seed/semen of copulation/ effusion/ejaculation with a woman (the
sperm on/in her hands, mouth, anus, between her breasts or any other
part of her body) who does not become his own woman or  isn't his
own woman.  This apparently indicates that penis petting or
mouthing  (with sperm effusion/ejaculation) by a woman who does
not become your own, or already is your own, is wrong/sin/error.


���2.Sexual intercourse, handling of breasts, working nipples
outside of marriage are sin: Ezekiel 23: 1 � The word of the
LORD came again to me, 2 Son of man, there were two women,
the daughters of one mother. 3 And they had-sex-outside-of-
their-marriages in Egypt; they had-sex-outside-marriage in their
youth, their breasts were handled, and there their virgin nipples
were worked.  5 .... And she desired-to-do-the-forbidden-with her
lovers, to [her] Assyrian neighbors,  . . . 7 So she bestowed her
sex-outside-of-her-marriage on them, the choice sons of Assyria;
[with] all of them, and with all with whom she desired-to-do-

For in her youth they sexually lay with her, and they worked her

���3. Only a husband should uncover his own wife's genitals
Ezekiel 23:17 And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of
love, and they defiled her with sexual-intimacies-outside-of-
marriage. And she was defiled with them, and her mind was
alienated from them. 18 So she uncovered her sexual-
intimacies-outside-of-marriage and uncovered her genitals. . . .29
And they shall deal with you in hatred, and shall take away all
your labor, and shall leave you naked and bare. And the exposed
genitals of your sexual-intimacies-outside-of-marriage shall be
uncovered, both your wickedness and your sexual-intimacies-
outside-of-marriage.
Ezekiel 16:35 � Therefore, O woman-having-sex-outside-of-
marriage, hear the word of the LORD. 36 So says the Lord
Jehovah: Because your lewdness was poured out and your
genitals were bared in your sexual-intimacies-outside-of-
marriage with your lovers, ... 37 behold, therefore I will gather
all your lovers, with whom you have been pleased, even all
[whom] you loved, with all whom you have hated; I will even
gather them against you from all around, and will uncover your
genitalia to them, and they will see all your genitals. 39 And I

���4. You shouldn't have orgasms with a woman nor embrace
the breasts/ genitalia of a woman who is not your wife

for imagining sexual intercourse/connection/intimacy with someone
else besides your own mate is sin.

This means that once and for all they exhanged or changed their
natural use for the unnatural, which for sure means having sex with
animals (Lev. 18) and includes lesbianism.

       The equivalence that God gave is as clear as 2 + 3 = 5 = 3 + 2 = 5
I wont bother* you with all the Greek usage, definitions and cross
references, but God's use of a verbal = sign in Rom. 1:27 ("and
likewise", "and in equal manner") shows that the conduct graphically
described in Rom. 1:27 is the same behavior vaguely described in Rom.
1:26 (same sex genital to genital, same sex genital to mouth or anus).
That would make any form of lesbianism, including bisexuality, as
disgraceful and contrary to God's design as homosexuality.

        1 Corinthians 6:9 � Do you not know that unrighteous

From the above I conclude that pornography includes
pictures/images/films of males who are "whores" for other males, of
males who are intimate with each others (male-male) genitals, and
males who "prostitute" themselves for/to other males; and
pictures/images/films of females who are "whores" for other females,
of females who are intimate with the genitals of other females, and
females who "prostitute" themselves for/to other females.

IS IT PORNOGRAPHY (WHORE PHOTOS)? IS IT WRONG
(SIN)?  WHAT IS PORNOGRPAHY IN THE LIGHT OF THE
ABOVE (EZEK. 16 & 23; PROV. 5, 6 & 7)?

Pornography is not a matter of immodesty, according to the
context of
DBY 1Ti 2:9* In like manner also that the women in decent
deportment and dress adorn themselves with modesty and
discretion, not with plaited [hair] and gold, or pearls, or costly
clothing,

The modesty there is the modesty of  kosmios {kos'-mee-os}
which means "well arranged, seemly, modest", and the modesty
in that context is the modesty of not having fancy hair styles, or
wearing of costly gold, pearls or clothing.  It is the modesty of
humility.

We have seen above that it is lewd and ungodly for a woman to
show (for enjoyment) her vulva, vagina, buttocks/rump crack to any
one except her own Biblically proper husband (Ezek. 16 & 23; Jer.
13:22,26; Hos. 2:3; Nahum 3:5; Isa. 3:17; Rev. 3:18).    We have found
that there is no explicit, specific or direct command for a woman
to cover her breasts, except for the principles of Romans 14.  Is
there any other part of the woman's body that is not to be seen by
someone else besides her own husband?  What about this
passage----

�Isa. 47:1  1 � Come down, and sit on the dust, O virgin daughter of
Babylon; sit on the ground. [There is] no throne [for you], O daughter
of the Chaldeans. For you shall no more be called tender and

Obviously  the context indicates that the raising of the skirt and the
uncovering of the leg revealed her genitalia, so it does not
include the uncovering of the leg when the genitalia are
properly covered.

Isaiah 20 and its cross references (2 Sam. 10:4; 1 Chron. 19:4)
seem to indicate that it is a shame, a falling short of his mark, an
error, a sin for one's buttocks/rump, especially the "valley of the
anus", to be seen in public.  "Mooning" is an example of
this.  Phil. 4:8 with Romans 1:31,32 would seem to indicate the
error in taking pleasure in the public exposure of someone else's
bottocks/rump.  If the angle is right (a woman bent over), such
exposure of the buttocks/rump also involves the exposure of the
genitals, and that is double error/trouble.

       Understood that the Greek word porneia (our porno)

enjoy/see/touch/caress/handle/ fondle/ work/ use/ lick/suck

From Romans 1 and 1 Cor. 6 we know that

any pictures of this kind of man  would be Biblical pornography,
even if he were dressed up or in  bathing suits.

  If you do a study of the words "bare" and "naked" you see a
significant difference.  A woman who is bare or bared is a
woman exposing her vulva/genitals/vagina/ buttocks/rump for
the enjoyment of some one
other than her own Biblically proper husband, and this is the
error/sin/shame of lewdness.  It is being naked and bare
(exposure of vulva, vagina, buttocks/rump) that is the error/sin.
The repentance of such lewdness is to stop doing it (Prov. 28:13)

No where in the Bible is a woman condemned or denounced for
being naked, but having been found naked inappropriately, the
remedy is covering or clothing appropriately worn.    In the Bible
anyone who is naked in public is instructed to cover at least their
penis, vulva, vagina, and/or buttocks/rump.   Pictures and
images of publicly naked women or men who are not sex-
sinners are pictures of people who have missed God's mark
(sinned) for their public appearance.  If such nude pictures are
not of harlots and sex-sinners, then those pictures are not
pornography, but they fall short of God's standards and
requirements.  To take pleasure in and enjoy  pictures/images of
naked people
is to partake in their error (sin) (Romans 1:31,32; 1 Cor. 5 & 6).

PORNOGRAPHY IS NOT
pictures/words/symbols/images/likenesses of a  woman who
covers only her vagina/vulva/buttocks/rump and who is  a
woman who lets only her own proper husband
touch/caress/handle/fondle/ work/ use/lick/suck her breasts,
nipples, vulva, vagina and buttocks/rump.  There is no
scriptural denunciation or condemnation of topless women,
women or fashion models or photo models in bikini type
garments, women with only loin cloths on, who let only their
own proper husbands touch/caress/handle/fondle/work/
use/lick/suck her breasts, nipples, vulva, vagina and
buttocks/rump; who do not "bare" or expose their vulvas,
vaginas, buttocks/rumpes; and who do not use their bodies to
cause others to imagine sex sin with them.

However any such woman, especially in countries like America,
needs to carefully examine the way they cover themselves in
light of Romans 14 and the command to unselfishly and
compassionately cherish their brothers and sisters in Christ.  The
Romans 14 principles that permit the
African/Indian/Chinese/Burmese/Tahitian women to go
topless and semi-nude in their communities as they do their
daily activities, are the same Romans 14 principles that would
move the American "sisters"  to cover well their breasts, buttox
and thighs when around "brothers" in a fellowship setting.

If you are in a country or culture (South Pacific, Bali, SE Asia,
India, China, Africa, Latin American Indians, aborigines,
Japanese pearl divers etc.) where women are often topless for
breast feeding, to keep cool, or because that is the way they dress
there, you have no scriptural right to tell them to cover their
breasts.  If it is stumbling you, you need to leave that place
because obviously you are not spiritually strong enough to
keep you mind straight and your spirit right.  I am so
Westernized that I could not handle sitting next to a Mexican
Indian as she breast fed her baby on the bus, or the Mexican sister
who breast fed her baby in church.  I had to move out of view.
So should you if you can't handle it when women dress so.
If that means not going to beach where women are exposing
their breasts and rumps, and/or where men barely cover their
genitals, then that means not going to the beach except on very
cold and windy days.

Since it is not, in and of itself, a sin (in thought or deed) to just
touch/caress/handle/ fondle/ work/ use/lick/suck the ears, ear
lobes, nose, lips, tongue, chin, throat, neck, shoulders, arms,
hands, back, belly, legs and/or feet  (with no sinful thought of, or
sinful deed involving,  her breasts, vulva or buttocks)----------
of a woman who is not your Biblically proper wife, ----------
then neither these acts or pictures/images of these acts constitute
pornography, if the people involved are not sex-sinners (whores
and whoremongers).  If it is foolish, if it is offensive to any who
know of it, if it pulls you into sin rather than building you up in
the Lord and keeping you straight in the Lord, and if you have
doubts about such activities, then it is wrong for you to do such
activities.  So it is not a "sin" to be a masseuse, give massages,
imagine such activities or pose for such pictures etc., as long as
the scriptures are obeyed and the principles of Romans 14 are
observed.

Pornography often involves "masturbation" or self-stimulation.
There is no scripture that says the act of stimulating yourself to
orgasm is a sin.  There are many scriptures that say that if you
are thinking sin, thinking of sin, imagining sin etc. while self-
stimulating, then you are sinning.  A spouse absent from
his/her mate who self-stimulates to orgasm thinking of
him/her, is simply obeying the Provebs 5 command to be in
orgasmic ecstasy with your mate.

If a male is self-stimulating, thinking of just
touching/caressing/handling/ fondling/ working/
using/licking/sucking the ears, ear lobes, nose, lips, tongue,

���CONCUBINES IN THE BIBLE

Are concubinage amd polygyny  dead and old issues?  In January of '96
the New York Times ran an article about more than 200,000
polygamists living in and around Paris, France, alone. An e-mail
correspondent from Paris wrote to me telling me that reportedly a
very recent Prime Minister of France was a practicing polygynist, that
both his wife and concubine participated in his public state funeral.
Polygamy and concubinage, in one form or another, are being
practiced on every continent today.

St. Augustine of Hippo, 4th century Christian Patriarch, stated the
following of the Western Christian community of his century:
       "But here there is no ground for a criminal accusation: for a
plurality of wives was no crime when it was the custom; and it is a
crime now, because it is no longer the custom......The only reason of its
being a crime now to do this, is        because custom and the laws forbid
it.>1. . . . That the holy fathers of olden times . . . to whom God gave
His testimony that 'they pleased Him'. . . it was permitted to . . . them
to have a pluraltiy of wives. . .>2 . . . the honorable name    of
saint is given not without reason to men who had several wives. . .
nor did the number of their wives make the patriarchs licentious.>3

I understand  Rev. Gerhard Jasper to make the following points: (1) In
Old Testament times a Jewish polygynist's marriage was fully
recognized as marriage, protected by the Law and the elders;  (2) the
Jewish polygynist's faith in or faithfulness to God was not questioned
because of his polygyny; (3) the polygyny of the Jewish polygynist did
not keep him from being admitted to the congregation with full
membership.>44.  Moses did not forbid polygamy  but apparently it
was unusual among average people .>45.

" . . . Yet polygyny  is adopted from the time of Lamech (Gn. 4:19), and
is not forbidden in Scripture . . . Polygamy continues to the present day
among Jews in Moslem, Hindu, Buddhist, Asian, Oriental, and African

�Concubine. A secondary wife acquired by purchase or as a war
captive, and allowed in polygamous society such as existed in the
Middle east in biblical times. . . . Concubines were protected under
Mosaic law (Exod. 21:7-11; Dt. 21:10-14), though they were
distinguished from wives (Jdg. 8:31) and were more easily divorced
(Gen.21:10-14)�>26

" . . . Concubinage was a legally sanctioned and socially acceptable
practice in ancient cultures, including that of the Hebrews; concubines,
however, were denied the protection to which a legal wife was

technical continuance of the Levirate law," [Deut. 25:5-10] "and is
proved by the early interpretation of 1 Ti 3, whether correct or not.

even five wives,' and marrying 'as they wish, or as many as they

the time of R. Gershom (c. A.D. 1000), and then at first only for France

Reflecting the reality of how Israel and Judah divided after Solomon
died, Jesus (as Jehovah) presents Himself as the husband of two wives
in the following:
MKJV EZEKIEL 23: 1 � The word of the LORD came again to me, 2
Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother.  3
And they fornicated in Egypt; they whored in their youth, their breasts
were handled, and there their Oholibah, her sister. And they became
Mine, . . . ."

God never presents Himself as sin or sinner to us except for when holy
Christ became sin for us on the cross.  In Ezek. 23, the sinners were His
wives and He was righteous as the husband of two wives.  It was only
two wives in accordance with His own Law that decreed that the ruler
must not multiply wives to himself. Polygyny , even God�s polygyny , is
NEVER labeled or declared to be sin or sinful in the Bible.

MKJV GEN. 4: 19 � And Lamech took two wives to himself. The name
of the first one [was] Adah, and the name of the other [was] Zillah;
MKJV GEN. 16: 2 And Sarai said to Abram, Behold now, the LORD
has kept me from bearing. I pray you, go in to my slave woman. It may
be that I may be built by her. And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.
3 And Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar her slave woman, the
Egyptian, and gave her to her husband
Abram to be his wife.

God intervened and sent Hagar back into the marital situation with
Abram and Sarai>41  When God next spoke to Abraham>42  there
was no condemnation of his polygyny , but instead God blessed him
with an even greater blessing than before. In response to the blessing
he takes his son by Hagar and  circumcised  him>43 .  "in all things the
Lord had blessed Abraham" (Gen. 24:1).

God blessed Sarah with fertility in  polygyny>44  and God blessed
Hagar and Ishmael even though she was cast out of Sarah's house at
Sarah's confirmed request because of the question of an heir, not
polygyny>45 .   Abraham had another concubine after Hagar, named
Keturah>46  by whom Abraham had six children without any
condemnation or denunciation by God.

Culturally it is interesting that Nahor, Abraham's brother, also was a

legal marriage.  Specifically, concubinage is a form of polygyny  in
which the primary matrimonial relationship is supplemented by one or
more secondary sexual relationships. Concubinage was a legally
sanctioned and socially acceptable practice in ancient cultures,
including that of the Hebrews; concubines, however, were denied the
protection to which a legal wife was entitled. . . . . the concubine's
status was inferior to that of  a legal wife.  Her children had certain
rights, including support by the father and legitimacy in the event of
the marriage of the parents� [>11 1986, Funk & Wagnalls]

HASTINGS DICTIONARY OF THE BIBLE: �The relative positions of
wives and concubines were determined mainly by the husband's
favour.  The children of the wife claimed the greater part, or the
whole, of the inheritance; otherwise there does not seem to have been
any inferiority in the position of the concubine as compared with that
of the wife, nor was any idea of  illegitimacy, in our sense of the word,
connected with her children. . . . >12

Jacob marries Rachel and Leah>58 , and goes on to have children by
his concubines as well>59.    Sure, treachery was involved in the
Rachel and Leah marriage, but it appears that the treachery stands
alone as the evil since at the first mention of the polygyny  option,>60
Jacob has no moral objection and nowhere does God denounce his
marriage to the two women. Yes Lev. 18:18  shows that much later in
the time of Moses, God forbade  two sisters being
wives to one husband at one time and makes rivalry the issue.

God  deliberately involved Himself in the polygyny  of Jacob by
blessing Leah with fertility>61.  God repeated himself by blessing the
mother of Samuel with fertility without denouncing her polygyny>62 .
God intervened and granted fertility to Rachel in her polygyny>63  .
God not only blesses Jacob with fertility but also with miraculous
prosperity in his polygyny> 64 . God not only blessed Jacob in his
polygyny  but also delivered him from evil and harm as a
polygynist>65

Jacob�s son Ashur had two wives >68, and his son, Manasseh, had a
concubine>69.  Benjamin�s Shaharaim was also a polygamist>70.

The next occurrence is controversial but interesting.  Before the Law
and in accordance with the principles of Genesis, Moses interracially
marries Zipporah a Midianite.  She seems to do a Michal>71  and
apparently suffers the same fate because next we see Moses
interracially marry, after the giving of the law, an Ethiopian
Cushite>72  in polygyny . Under God's Law Moses gave
instructions about polygyny>73  affording it the full legal status of
monogamy with no stigma or  denunciation.

MKJV EXODUS 21: 7 �And if a man sells his daughter to be a
maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.  8 If she does
not please her master, who has betrothed her to himself, then he shall
let her be redeemed. He shall have no power to sell her to a strange
nation, since he has dealt deceitfully with her.  9 And if he has
betrothed her to his son, he shall deal with her as with daughters.  10
If he takes himself another [wife], her food, her clothing, and her duty
of marriage shall not be lessened. 11 And if he does not do these
three to her, then she shall go out free without money.�

MKJV LEVITICUS 19:20 �And whoever lies with a woman with
semen, and she is a slave-girl, betrothed to a husband and not at all
redeemed, nor freedom given her, there shall be an inquest. They shall
not be put to death, because she was not free.�

MKJV DEUT. 22: 23 �If a girl [who is] a virgin is engaged to a
husband, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her,  24 then you
shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone
them with stones that they die; the girl because she did not cry out in
the city, and the man because he has humbled his neighbor's wife. So
you shall put away evil from among you. 25 But if a man finds an
engaged girl in the field, and the man forces her and lies
with her, then only the man that lay with her shall die.  26 But you
shall do nothing to the girl. No sin [worthy] of death [is] in the girl; for
as when a man rises against his neighbor and slays him, even so is this
matter. 27 For he found her in the field, the engaged girl cried out, but
[there was] none to save her.�

God's Law forbade a king from "multiplying" wives>.75 to himself
without making such a command to  we nonkings.  It appears from
later scripture about Godly and God blessed kings of Israel that God
makes a distinction between MULTIPLYING wives & horses to
yourself and adding wives & horses to yourself.   None of us object to
King David having more
than one horse but many object to King David having more than one
wife, yet it is the same command "he shall not multilply horses . . .
wives to himself." By 2 Samuel 5-12  God had �given� him seven
wives plus a number of concubines.  We see His implied blessing on
David�s polygyny .  This implied blessing of his polygyny  would have
to mean that David, with concubines  and seven wives, had not yet
violated the prohibition against a king multiplying wives and horses
to himself.

In Deut. 21:15-17 God intervenes and acknowledges and vindicates
the second wife in a polygamous marriage where the sin of partiality
>76  was being practiced.  If polygyny were sin why didn't God
condemn it in this passage instead of covering it with the dignity and
holiness of His Law?  The wife is vindicated, not condemned.

Deut. 21:15 � �If a man have two wives, one beloved, and one hated,
and they have borne him children, [both] the beloved and the hated,
and [if] the first-born son be hers that was hated;  16 then it shall be, in
the day that he makes his sons to inherit [that] which he has, [that] he
may not make the son of the beloved first-born before the son of the
hated, who is the first-born;  17 but he shall acknowledge as first-born
the son of the hated, by giving him a double portion of all that he has;
for he is the firstfruits of his strength: the right of the
firstborn is his.�

Gideon had MANY WIVES, was blessed and used of God without any
condemnation/denunciation from God about his polygyny>77

What about the Levite�s?  These keepers of the tabernacle, did they
have special rules that kept them from polygyny? Not according to the
following, because when his concubine was mercilessly murdered by
rape, the nation of Israel rose to vindicate him and avenge her
murder.
Judges 19:1 � �And it came to pass in those days, when [there was] no
king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite,  . . . who took to him a
concubine out of Bethlehem-Judah.  2 And his concubine  . . . . went
away from him to her father's house to Bethlehem-Judah, and was
there four whole months.  3 And HER HUSBAND rose up and went
after her, to speak friendly to her, [and] to bring her again;  . . .  And
she brought him into her father's house; and when the father of the
damsel saw him he rejoiced to meet him.   4 And his FATHER-IN-
LAW, the damsel's father, retained him, and he abode with him
three days;  . . .5 . . . And the damsel's father said to his  SON-IN-LAW,
.�

SO A CONCUBINE IS NOT A HARLOT.  Just like any other wife, she
can become a harlot while married (Ezek. 16 and Hosea).  HARLOTRY
IS AN EVIL THAT EITHER A WIFE OR A CONCUBINE CAN
PRACTICE WHILE MARRIED.   Not only is a concubine not a harlot,
the Holy Spirit by the writer of the book of Judges declared the Levite
to be the concubine's "husband", declared the father of the concubine
to be the Levite's "father-in-law", and declared the Levite to be the
"son-in-law" of the concubine's father.  This is a very strong
legitimization of the husband-concubine marital status.  It is the
same legitimization of the relationship that the Holy Spirit used in
Matthew 1, calling the espoused Mary "wife" and the espoused
Joseph "husband".  If God so recognizes them and describes them, then
who are we to do any less.  By the Holy Spirit here in Judges 19 we see
that a concubine had a "husband" who was the "son-in-law" of her
father, his "father-in-law".  A wife has a "husband" who is the "son-
in-law" of her father, her husband's "father-in-law".

David is a fascinating case.  He marries Michal in l Sam. 18.  Then, as
the anointed future king of Israel, David took to himself three
additional wives in l Sam 25, and one is recognized by the Spirit for
her grace and wisdom.  He does this at a time of God's miraculous
intervention and blessing in his life.  God neither denounces or
condemns him or his polygyny.  In the case of three or four wives you
are still dealing with addition, rather than the multiplying of
Deut.

It is interesting that horses, silver and gold - AS WELL AS WIVES -
were not to be multiplied.  I can't believe this was meant to limit the
king to ONE HORSE, or ONE SILVER OR GOLD BAR,  even so I
can't believe it limits a king to one wife.

In fact in 2 Sam 6, it is Michal who is condemned and punished instead
of her polygamous husband David.  By the time he becomes King in
Judah he has 6 wives>83 and is being blessed and prospered by God.
At the time of the wonderful Covenant with David in 2 Sam. 7, God
specifically blesses and covenants with polygamist David and his
concubines and his seven wives, as part of his house, receive a
blessing. God even said "I gave you . . . your master's wives" >84  ".
["And Nathan said to David, you  are the man! Thus says    Jehovah
the God of Israel: I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you
out of the hand of Saul;  8 and I GAVE YOU  YOUR MASTER'S
HOUSE, AND YOUR MASTER'S WIVES INTO YOUR BOSOM, and
gave you the house of Israel and of Judah; and if [that] had been too
little, I would moreover have given unto you such and such things."

At this time God had �given� him seven wives plus a number of
concubines (1 Chronicles 3).  God here condemns David�s adultery and
murder, but implies His blessing on David�s polygyny .  This implied
blessing of his polygyny  would have to mean that David, with
concubines  and seven wives, had not yet violated the prohibition
against a king multiplying wives to himself. >84b to David in his
polygyny.  Apparently even concubines plus seven wives is not
"multiplying" wives to oneself. He had about 14 wives and
concubines at the end of his life>85.  David the polygamist was
declared to be loyal to God>86.   God declares that David, the
polygamist, fully followed God>87.

Both David and Abraham recognized all the rights and responsibilities
of the concubines as if they were official wives.  The bottom line is
what does God say and how does He view concubines.  Reflect on the
following: MKJV 2 Sam.12: 11 �So says the LORD, Behold, I will raise
up evil against you out of your own house, and I will take your wives
before your eyes and give [them] to your neighbor. And he shall lie
with your wives in the sight of this sun.�

MKJV 2 Sam 16: 21 �And Ahithophel said to Absalom, Go in to your
father's concubines, that he left to keep the house. And all Israel shall
hear that you are abhorred by your father. And the hands of all who
[are] with you will be strong.  22 And they spread Absalom a tent on
the top of the house, and Absalom went in to his father's concubines in
the sight of all Israel.�

MKJV2Sam.20:3 �And David came to his house at Jerusalem. And the
king took the ten women, [his] concubines, whom he had left to keep
the house, and put them in ward, and fed them but did not go in to
them. And they were shut up till the day of their death, living in
widowhood.�

In these passages you see God calling and recognizing as "wives"
David�s concubines.  If that is the way God sees them, only a fool
would treat them as less than a wife (Malachi 2).  Malachi 2 makes it
pretty clear how God feels about those who break their covenants
with their concubines and wives.

Solomon's polygyny  was sinful first because He disobeyed God�s
command against a king multiplying wives to himself>89;  and
secondly because he married unbelievers with whom God had
specifically forbidden marriage>90.  Too many wives and forbidden
wives both had the same predicted result, that they turned his heart
away from God. Solomon was declared to be disloyal to God in his
polygyny>91  while David the polygamist was declared to be loyal to
God>92  . God even declares that polygynist David fully followed
God>93 .

Evil king Rehoboam imitated Solomon and almost had 18 wives and
60 concubines in 2 Chron. 11 & 12. Then Godly king Abijah, blessed and
prospered of God, also had fourteen wives>94  .  The Godly High
Priest Jehoida gave two wives to godly king Joash in 2 Chron 24.
Godly queen Esther was a wife blessed by God in her  polygyny . God
Himself describes Himself as a polygamist in Ezekiel 23.  Jesus
reaffirmed the Old Testament teachings on polygamy and
concubinage in Matt. 23:2,3.

MKJV MATT. 23:2  �. . . The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses'
seat. 3 Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, observe and do.
But do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.�

What a record!  Two authors of the Old Testament, David and
Solomon, possibly three if you count Moses, were uncondemned and
God-honored polygynists in their polygyny.  Four godly patriarchs
with whom God entered into special and unique covenants (Abraham,
Jacob, David, Solomon; five if you count Moses) were polygynists at
the time God covenanted with them.  In every era of the Old
Testament (Pre Law, Sinai Law, Judges, Kingdom prophets,
Dispersion prophets) you find God�s people and leaders practicing
polygyny and practicing it according to God�s will or commands.  Yet
many Christian leaders agree with the brother that apparently
maintains that the Bible offers little defense for polygamy in
comparison to monogamy, that because of its shortcomings polygyny
cannot be tolerated as a form of marriage willed by God.>22.  Perhaps
that's why God chose the polygamous marriage of Solomon and his
Shulamite in The Song of Solomon to be the model for marriage in
Israel and the marriage model for His relationship to Israel>95.

St. Augustine, 4th century AD of Hippo, has a good word, as follows:
" . . If our critics, then, wish to attain not a spurious and affected, but a
genuine and sound moral health, let them find a cure in believing the
Scripture record, that the honorable name of saint is given not
without reason to men who had several wives; . . .nor did the number
of their wives make the patriarchs licentious. But why defend the
husbands, to whose character the divine word bears the highest
testimony. . . ."

AND JESUS SAID:
Mat. 5:17 � �Think not that I am come to make void the law or the
prophets; I am not come to make void, but to fulfil.  18 For verily I say
unto you, Until the heaven and the earth pass away, one iota or one
tittle shall in no wise pass from the law till all come to pass. 19
Whosoever then shall do away with one of these least
commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in
the kingdom of the heavens; but whosoever shall practise and teach
[them], *he* shall be called great in the kingdom of the heavens.�

Matt. 23:1 � �Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, 2
saying, The scribes and the Pharisees have set themselves down in
Moses' seat:  3 all things therefore, whatever they may tell you, do
and keep. But do not after their works, for they say and do not, . . .�

So even after Acts' Pentecost and Acts 15 the apostles and believing
Jews in Acts 21 still believed that they were to obey the Law of Moses
including the laws about marriage (including polygyny ) and morality.
The only thing they wrote about polygyny was that the elders/bishops
/deacons should have only one wife at a time (1 Tim. 3; Titus 1).

So we see Paul in Acts 21, the Apostle of Grace to we non-Jews, purify
himself as a law-keeping Jew with four other Christian Jews under a
vow, pay the expenses of their being under the vow including the
shaving of their heads,  and have an offering offered for  them all so
that he could show the believing Jews that he walked orderly, keeping
the Sinai Law and its customs and telling the believing Jews to
circumcize their children and walk in Moses' customs.  These customs
of Moses included the laws given to Moses regulating and
recognizing polygyny.   So the apostles and believing Jews were still
keeping the Law, not for salvation, but to obey Jesus in Mat. 23:1-3,
and still they do not condemn or reject the polygyny being practiced all
around them by both Jews and Romans (See the quotes below).

This means that the marriage and morality teachings of 1 Thess. 4 ;
Romans 7; 1 Corinthians 5, 6 and 7 were written before the time of
Acts 21:16 while Paul and the believing Jews, including the apostles,
were still obeying and teaching the marriage and morality laws of the
Law of Moses, discussed at length above including polygyny . The
change of significance was not that polygyny  was condemned or
forbidden but that monogamy was made a prerequisite for holding an
official position of leadership in the local church.

The polygyny  of the Jewish, Greek and Roman world was not
attacked, but the leadership of the local churches was transformed by
the monogamy restriction, probably to prevent polygamous leaders
from getting involved in church service that would result in the
neglect of time with their own children and/or wives.  What was the
actual status of polygamy in New Testament time, the First Century
AD?  Christian elders agree that during Jesus' physical and visible
walk on earth, the Jews practiced polygamy>24.�

It is incredible to think that Jesus and the apostles would say nothing
about such a widespread contemporary practice as polygyny if it were
indeed sinful, less than God's best, carnal and reprobate to good
works.  God never said such a thing in Old Testament times and He
obviously never said such a thing in New Testament times.  When you
consider how specific God was in Lev. chaps. 18-22; Deut. chaps. 22-
24; Romans 1; 1 Cor. 6; 2 Cor. 6; Gal. 5 and etc.,  I can not believe that
God would "forget" to include polygyny if it is as bad as most
Christian leaders say  it is.

"Yet polygyny  is adopted from the time of Lamech (Gn. 4:19), and is
not forbidden in Scripture . . ..  Polygamy continues to the present day
among Jews in Moslem, Hindu, Buddhist, Asian, Oriental, and African

Precious reader, do you know exactly where you stand with the
God and Creator of the universe?  Have you asked Him to be your
Father in the Heavens?  Have you believed/trusted/relied/depended
on the Lord/King Jesus Christ ---the God anointed Saviour King of
Israel ----to save you from your faults, failures and mistakes?

Salvation from personal faults/failures/mistakes belongs to the
poor in spirit.  Matt. 5:3 says, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs
is
the kingdom of heaven." If you recognize that you are spiritually
destitute---totally incapable of deserving or earning salvation from
your errors in any way, you are poor in spirit-- you are humble.   The
poor in spirit, the humble, understand that they are sinners, totally
impotent to please or to serve God.

To acknowledge that you are a sinner unable to save yourself is
humility.  Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (1 Tim.
1:15).  Isaiah said, "When You make His soul an offering for sin, He
shall see [His] seed.  He shall prolong [His] days and the pleasure of
the
Lord shall prosper in His hand.  He shall see the distressing travail of
His soul, and be satisfied.  By His knowledge My righteous Servant
shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities."

Poverty of spirit (humility) is interwoven in the act of
repentance, the life-altering change of mind about you, your sin and
God.  When you repent (change your mind), you see yourself as you
really are and you change your mind in respect to your relationship to
God the Father and to His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  The act of
repentance brings you to see your sin as ugly as it is, as God sees it,
and
you come to a point where you want to be free from it.

Of course, freedom from sin comes only by believing/trusting/
relying on the Lord Jesus Christ.  The one who is regularly committing
sin is the slave of sin.  However, if the Son shall set you free from
regularly committing sin, you shall be free indeed (John 8:334,36)

The poor in spirit see their impotence to free themselves from
sin/failures/faults/errors.  They see that freedom is possible only
through Christ's  death for us as our substitute.  They recognize that
salvation/deliverance comes by God's act of undeserved and
unmeritted kindness and mercy alone.  They choose to believe God
and His Word about themselves and their relationship with Him.

One cannot speak of the Crucifixion apart from the Resurrection.
It is the resurrection that gives us newness of life.  Christ's
resurrection
testifies to two vital truths.  One, it shows that God was propitiated,
or
satisfied, with the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ.  Jesus became
the bearer of our sins.  Isaiah's word is "But he was wounded/pierced
for our transgressions, bruised/crushed for our iniquities; The
chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes (from
the
cutting whips) we are healed."  In Romans 4:25 we read, "[He] who
was
delivered up because of our transgressions, and was raised [from the
dead] because of our justification."  "Raised because of our justifica-
tion" means that because Jesus' payment (the death of His body) for
our
sins was adequate to satisfy the demands of justice and a Holy God,
God could then declare us righteous, justified and made acceptable in
His sight.  Jesus was raised from death because His death for us
satisfied
the righteousness of our Holy God.

His resurrection shows us that Jesus Christ conquered death.
Death had a holdover man because of his sin/error/failures/faults.
However, once the death penalty of sin was paid for by the death of
Christ's body, death no longer had any holding power.  "The sting of
death is sin, and the power of sin is the law" (1 Corinth. 15:56).  Jesus
paid the price of redemption, redeeming us from the curse of the Law,
having become a curse for us ---for cursed was everyone who was
hung
on a tree/stake (Deut. 21:23; Gala. 3:13).

His death took away the power of sin. Jesus also took the stinger
out of death by paying for our sin so that we need have no fear of
what
awaits us in and after death. Because our sin debt is paid for in full by
Christ, death has no power over us.

Dear reader, have you come to the end of yourself? Have you
seen your total impotence, your total unworthiness? Have you seen
your nothingness apart from God?  And have you seen Jesus, God the
Son who took upon Himself flesh and blood that He might die for you
and for all people?   Have you decided that you want His Way and Will
in and for your life instead of your own will and way?

Do you  believe that? Do you believe He died in your place? Do
you believe that He was made sin for you, so that you, a helpless and
hopeless enemy of God, might have His righteousness and His life?
Have you repented---turned away from self-will to believe on the
Lord
Jesus Christ----the God anointed Saviour King of Israel?  Out loud
with
your mouth agree with God about the God anointed Saviour King of
Israel, and you will be saved, "for with the heart man believes,
resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses [Jesus],
resulting in salvation." Romans 10:10-13.
Joel 2: 32 And it shall be, whoever shall call on the name of the LORD
shall be saved; for salvation shall be in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem,
as the LORD has said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
Ps 119:6 Then I shall not be ashamed, when I have respect to all Your
commandments.
Ps 119:80 Let my heart be sound in Your statutes, so that I may not be
ashamed.
Ps 119:116 Uphold me according to Your word, that I may live; and let
me not be ashamed of my hope.

What am I talking about? In Marshall's book of modern martyrs,
"Their Blood
Cries Out" consider this incident.   Jihad Muslims in their
antiChristian fury
kidnapped a young Christian girl. As they began to abuse her she
began to
sweetly sing hymns and pslams as the Spirit worked 1 Peter 4:12-19 in
her.  As
they raped her repeatedly she kept on singing hymns and psalms,
apparently
unphased by her abusers as Jesus was keeping His 1 Cor. 10:13
promise to her.
After hours of physical and sexual abuse, during which she kept on
singing
psalms and hymns, these radical Jihad Muslims decided they had
enough of
her and shot her.  She kept on singing (the fulfillment of Matt. 10:16-
20, 27-32)
as the blood flowed out of the wound.  Amazed, they shot her again to
silence
her.  She miraculously kept on singing songs of praise and worship of
Jesus as
her blood was leaving her body.  Troubled and stunned they couldn't
believe
or uderstand what they were seeing and hearing of her dying, and in a
frenzied
effort to silence her singing one of these rabidly antiChristian
Muslems took a
machete and chopped her throat-------and finally she was silent.
Bewildered
and angry they dumped her body, after Jesus' angels in glory had
lovingly
ministered to her spirit as she
met Jesus and entered into His eternal Love, Peace, Joy and Life.
Having died
like her Lord, she now lives forever like her Lord.  This world was not
worthy
of such a blessed and wondrous little sister.

Appendix:   Naked vs. Bare
Is a woman evil is she is publicly naked, without clothing but using
something besides clothing to cover her loins/genitals?
Is God's will for such a woman is that she be clothed, that one clothe
her, with no connotation of evil?
What is God's will for the woman naked in public, but not
exposing/baring her genitals/loins?

Yes a woman is evil if she is publicly bare, exposing her genitals in
public (in pictures or in person). It is His will that we be clothed and
not naked.  He never says anyone who is naked is evil or sinning.  He
wants us to cover/clothe the naked.  When you have a picture of a
naked woman who hasn't bared/isn't baring her genitals, cover her
loins/vulva and rump (gluteous maximus)

It is considered evil to bare your genitals in public. It is understood to
be a punishment from God.
It is not a good thing.  A woman who bares her vulva is doing an evil
thing and is an evil person and must be dealt with as an evil person.  It
is an evil worthy of death to enjoy or derive pleasure from a woman
who bares/exposes her vulva.

This appears to be a part of knowing good and evil.  Before all they
had known was good and good living.  Now they also knew evil and
evil living.  Having entered the era of sin and death, they probably
came under conviction by the Holy Spirit to cover their
nakedness/loins/genitals
Job 1:21 And he said, I came naked out of my mother's womb, and
naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken
away. Blessed [be] the name of the LORD.
Job 22:6 For you have taken a pledge from your brother for nothing,
and stripped the naked of their clothing.
Job 24:7 They lodge the naked without clothing, and [give] no covering
in the cold.
Job 24:10 They cause [him] to go naked without clothing, and they take
away the sheaves from the hungry
Ec 5:15 As he came forth from his mother's womb naked, he shall
return to go as he came. And from his labor he may not carry anything

God didn't tell them to do this.  They just did it on their own, as a part
of their knew knowledge of evil.  As if they knew that because of evil in
the world, they needed to cover their genitals when in public.

This is the idea of having no clothes or garments on.  She was naked,

only naked, but she was naked and open to view, exposed, laid bare.
So the question is not "Can she be naked/nude/uncovered [unclothed,

solution for their being naked and bare was to cover their loins
(crotch, genital, leg thigh juncture).  God's will is that, in public,
we not be naked and bare, rather He wants us to be clothed.  God's
will is for models, posing for photographs or artists, to not be naked
and bare, but to have their loins
