Vietnam Veterans Against the War Anti-Imperialist
                             calls for continued URGENT ACTIONS

To all concerned;
It's the two year anniversary of the Persian Gulf slaughter and they've
just bombed Iraq again. The threat of further RalliedS attack has not past.
Our opposition to the treatment of the people of the world by George
Bush, Bill Clinton and the U.S. Armed Forces will be heard.
On 1/13/93, VVAW AI called for emergency URGENT ACTIONS in
response to the bombing of Iraq as we did during the last acute bomb
threat by the U.S. This call and statement is being reissued to help rally
local, national and international forces.

REPORTS ON ACTIONS IN RESPONSE TO THE LATEST BOMBING OF IRAQ.
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON; 1/13/93-5PM; 50-75 people rallied at the
Federal Building. A steady stream of speakers on an "open mike" voiced
their disdain and disapproval of the past and present bombings of Iraq
and the continued war on Iraq by embargo and strong-arm tactics by the
U.S. After about one hour, some of the protestors blocked traffic for about
20 minutes until the cops moved them off the street. In solidarity with
the protest, a candle light vigil was held by religious pacifist forces. There
were plans made to march later in the evening and a meeting was set up
for this weekend. AP NEWS interviewed Vietnam vet, Brian Chambers,
and later was heard on National Public Radio. Much of the local
newspaper, radio and TV had coverage of the event. VVAW AI members
participated in several radio interviews and went on the air of a local
public access TV show RPOLITICAL DIVERSITIES,S on 1/14/93, 5PM,
channel 29, to talk about the attack on Iraq. Generally, however, the
airwaves were flooded by media claims that they Rcouldn't seem to find
any opposition. The American people seem to wholeheartedly support this
action.S Among the groups represented at the demonstration were VVAW
AI, The All Peoples Congress, American Friends Service Committee,
Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigade, Freedom Socialist Party,
Fellowship Of Reconciliation, and, of course, the Seattle Police Department
[ Ha-ha  ;) ].
American Friends Service Committee, Northwest Regional Office issued
a statement condemning the military strikes against Iraq.

SAN FRANCISCO CALIFORNIA; 120 people rallied in opposition to the
bombing of Iraq on 1/13/93, the people in the action were a mix of
movement people similar to that in Seattle.
The International Indian Treaty Council, San Francisco, CA. put out a
statement condemning the bloodshed and destruction by the U.N.

PORTLAND OREGON; Vets and others organized a demo at 4PM - stay
tuned for more info.

CHICAGO, IL.; 25-50 people rallied at the Federal Building.

NEW YORK, HAWAII; Reports to follow.

FRANCE; Demonstrations called by the French Coalition Against War
