c2. A season's offering
I see the centuries-old swollen sights
Of wintry sodden, weeping pines
And the crescent moonlit Orion nights
Of un-war-tainted, yes, peaceful signs.
I see the sun-drenched open sands
Of summer's spawning of the beaches
And portals to such distant lands
As Happiness' grasp further outreaches.
I see the dawn of autumn's sigh
While leaves clutter the ground nearby
Foreshadowing hope of a new beginning
That mankind will someday start winning.
I see spring offering nourishment to new life
As baby birds fly by, so swift.
And children, innocently playing, knowing no strife:
I see aspects of the most beautiful gift.
