c2. Old friends
There was never any use for tears,
Now we can put aside our old fears.
We still could be good together,
Even after all these years.
I was so lonely without you,
Now you know what we can do.
Let's not waste this time talking,
Now it's down to me and you.
O such a waste it will be
When it's all over and done.
You know that all people need,
Sentenced until death,
Another love will bleed.
We don't have to fight about the past,
This time let's try to make it last.
Why don't we go downtown
And see if some of our old friends are around.
Such a day is this should not be,
O such a calamity.
Now you're on the devil's list
And what is it that I see?
You have that look in your eye
And you're looking right at me.
I guess I never noticed that much before,
But your wildrollin' love has opened up that door.
You can't go far enough for me,
I've had it with your games, you see.
I know your number now.
You want to be bad, that's good,
Now it's down to you and me.
