c2.  Eden by the bay

Oh, how I wish I could
Return to that home I knew.
A place where the pond is green
And the sky is a mottled blue.

The aspects of the rolling hills
And the old-fashioned country frills.
To live from the land as the Lord chose
And pay no fee for sociocontemporaries.

A day, an hour, a moment of calmness,
Just one among the many restless here.
To the north winds coarse caress,
A tree of wood to lean on and know no fear.

There is a place where one may go,
Where one may see
That within grows a single flower,
Untouched and unscarred by our "humanity."

I yearn to canoe the calm bay waters
To that river that crooks the land
And gaze upon the lonely wildflowers
And bring to them a friend.
