SPIRITUAL POETRY (2)

GRIEF

Where are you now
When dark stalks my heart
Like a grim reaper?

Where are you now
When blackness seeps
Into my soul
Like a crying cold?

Where are you now
When teardrops rain sorrow
Like a sad storm sighing?

Where are you now,
My hope, my faith,
My everlasting trust
In the human quest?

Is it all a jest
In the wretched face
 Of death?

Life's Tragedy

Sorrowful aching, go away,
 Do not delay
My heart from earnest
 Thankfulness.

In a soft glimmer
Life flashes brief
As a candle flicker;
Eyes close forever,
Voices die in a last sigh,
Stilled eternally
Our human mortality.

In the beauty of being
We often forget the agony
 Of dying.

Passing on, gone in a blink,
The brevity is life's tragedy.

TIME TO PART

Let me love enough to make you free;
Let me love enough to keep your memory;
Let me know when our time
 Has come to an end...
    A parting destiny.

Let me have patience and wisdom,
To know when you must go beyond.

A teardrop in my eye
Will mingle with your cries,
But we must all depart
Our troubled times on earth.

Just let us both recognize
 The inevitable moment
When we must not prevent
The last hug, the last goodbye...
 And accept our fate,
Watching helplessly but bravely
Death's claim upon us.

I DREAMT I WAS DYING

I dreamt I was dying
 And upon my life,
Slumbering, I saw
 The times, the times
I recall so very clear...
The long lost emotions of years,
 Like oceans of tears,
And the dark cruel years.

I dreamt I was dying
 And upon my time here,
Scant as a child's innocence,
 Came the sweet and dear,
Then the dark and dreary...
Like sunlight and shade,
 The shadows of my life
Danced before my eyes.

I dreamt I was dying
 And a cry of loneliness
Escaped my tembling lips...
But I suddenly awoke,
Beyond the fear of darkness,
Beyond the door of time:
Into a world of Light.

THE FLOW

The flow lives deeply within
Though given from eternity;
In a breath of Light
It becomes a voice Bright.

The flow glows beyond
The mortal where it dwells,
Far into infinity;
It grows, grows until finally
A soft echo sighs
Throughout the cosmos.

The flow is its own reason
For existence;
The flow is a brilliance
Upon a vastness unknown,
 A Light source
Untouched by eons of echoes,
   Yet
More grand by design
Than even dawn of mankind.

WISDOM

And so she went
 Beyond the limit;
And so she asked
 Of what was old,
Older than time.

And so the universe
 Opened its mysteries;
And so life revealed
 All its secrets.

But even so...
Mortals could not accept
Forces beyond their knowledge.

And so in silence
 She returned to them,
Blinded by truth,
 Unable to utter wisdom.

ALWAYS

There was always
 Always.

There was never
 Never.

There was forever
 Ever.

There was endlessness
 Endlessly.

There was, there was
 Was...
And now is
 Now...

    Always.
