New VME CPU Board Breaks Low Cost Barrier
        with Modular, User-Configurable Approach

o VME computing at PC competitive prices
o Full ANSI/IEEE 1014 (VMEbus Revision Cl) compatible
         o From 8 MHz 68000 to 10 MHz 68010

BUSCON WEST '90, Long Beach, CA, February 14,1990 -- With the
introduction of its new low-cost VME single board computer, Themis
Computer has brought the price tag on VME  bus computing down to that of
PC and other 8/16-bit bus systems, according to an announcement by
William Kehret, president of Themis Computer.
The TSVME 110 Single Board Computer's modular design gives the
designer the freedom to add extra functionality to the standard base
configuration. This semi-custom approach permits the designer to
configure the minimum board required rather than buying more computer
than is necessary. A large number of options provides the designer with a
full menu of functional blocks from which to choose.
"We think that the TSVME 110 is the ideal entry-level VME SBC
for industrial computing," said Mr. Kehret. "This CPU card competes

head on with the price advantage of PC systems without sacrificing any of
the performance that the factory floor demands."
The TSVME 110 comes in a standard minimum configuration, to
which options may be added. The TSVME llO's base configuration is as
follows:

Base Configuration
     1. Processor:
         68000-8 MHz, or...
         68HC000-8 MHz, or...
         68010-10 MHz
     2. Board Control Logic (a proprietary VLSI chip provides most control functions):
         o Address decoding
         o VPA generation
o Dynamic memory handling, parity handling
o DTACK generation for memory sockets, Dynamic Memory,
internal registers, DUSART, Floppy disk controller, SCSI bus controller
o Intelligent peripheral bus control (DUSART, floppy disk, SCSI)
o Access time selection for memory sockets
o Bus Time Out (BTO) configuration
         o BTO module
o Interrupt handling (VME and Local Interrupts)
    3. Memory sockets for EPROM, EEPROM and RAM
o 4 banks of two sockets
         o 28-pin or 32-pin JEDEC compatible
    4. VMEInterface
    5. Two synchronous/asynchronous serial ports
    6. 16-bit Triple Timer
    7. PIT 68230
    8. WatchDog
    9. FrontPanelFeatures
         o 2 Sub-D 9-pin connectors for serial links
         o RESETpushbutton
         o ABORTpushbutton
         o 5 LEDs
         o Hexadecimal + dot 7 segments display
    10. Expansion Module Connectors

       o 70 pin connector
         o 12-pm connector
    11. Local Interrupts Handling
    12. CMOS Real-Time Clock and RAM socket

The designer may add to the TSVME 110 any or all of the following
options:

Options
         13. Floppy Disk Controller (WD37C65)
         14. SCSI Interface
         15. Dynamic RAM: 512 K, 1 MB, or 2 MB
         16. Rechargeable Battery or Lithium Cell
         17. P2 Connector

Price of the TSVME 110-1 (with 64KB SRAM, but without any
options) is $589 in quantity 100. Price of the TSVME 110-2 (with 128 KB
SRAM, 1 MB DRAM, SCSI, floppy disk controller, and real time clock) is
$1,353 in quantity 100.
     Availability is immediate.
